Abstract

An experiment with aim to study the effect of probiotics combination level and length of fermentation on qualityimprovement of rice straw had been conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed of Animal HusbandryFaculty, Mataram University. The research was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design in factorialarrangement 3 x 3 with 3 replications. The first factor was the level of probiotics (0, 2 and 4%), the second factorwas the period of fermentation (2, 4 and 6 weeks).The variables measured were crude protein, crude fiber, NDF,ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and in vitro digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. Data wereanalyzed by analysis of variance and tested further by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The result show thattreatments combination of the probiotics level and fermentation period did not affect (P>0.05) the chemicalcomposition and digestibility. The level of probiotics increased (P<0.05) the crude protein and in vitro dry matterdigestibility. Meanwhile, the lenght of fermentation increased the crude protein and in vitro digestibility of drymatter and organic matter, but decreased the crude fiber, NDF, ADF, cellulose, and hemicellulose of Amofer ricestraw.

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) dan bahan organik (KcBO) dedak padi dari Heler Statis dan Heler Mobile di Kabupaten Bima telah dilaksanakan dari bulan September sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2020. Dedak padi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dipeoleh dari 2 jenis heler yang berbeda dari 18 Kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Bima. Sampel diambil sebanyak 1 kg dari masing masing heler per kecamatan kemudian di analisis kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organiknya di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Mataram. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi sifat fisik, KcBK dan KcBO dedak padi. Untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan antara KcBK dan KcBO dari kedua jenis penggilingan maka data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini diuji dengan T-test menggunakan paket program statistik SAS (2002). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tekstur, KcBK dan KcBO dedak padi hasil penggilingan statis lebih baik dari pada dedak padi hasil penggilingan mobile.

Abstract

The study that aimed to determine the content of crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF) and in vitro digestibility of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) of corn straw silage added with leucaena and molasses fermented at different times, had been carried out at Nutrition and Feed Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Mataram. The corn straw and leucana used in this study were taken from the agricultural area in the Gerung sub-district of West Lombok Regency shortly after harvesting and were cut into pieces with a size of 3-5 cm. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 level of treatments, namely: T1: corn straw + leucaena 10% and molasses 5% without fermentation, T2: corn straw + leucaena 10% and molasses 5% fermented 7 days, T3: corn straw + leucaena 10% and molasses 5% fermented 14 days, T4: corn straw + leucaena 10% and molasses 5% fermented 21 days, T5: corn straw + leucaena 10% and molasses 10% fermented 28 days. The variables observed in this study were CP, CF, and in vitro digestibility of DM and OM. Data obtained in this study were analyzed using analysis of variance based on a Completely Randomized Design using the SAS statistical program package and the differences were further tested using the Duncan Test. The results showed that fermentation time could significantly decrease (P <0.05) CF content and increase (P <0.05) CP silage content, but there was no significant increase (P> 0.05) of DM and OM digestibility in vitro of silage fermented for 7, 14, 21 and 28 days.

Abstract

Studi dengan tujuan mengevaluasi kecukupan nutrisi sapi jantan muda Bali dilakukan selama 3 bulan sejak Juni hingga September 2020 di BPT-HMT Serading, Kabupaten Sumbawa. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap sepuluh ekor sapi bali jantan muda dengan berat badan awal rata-rata 114 kg. Variabel yang diamati termasuk jenis, kualitas dan konsumsi pakan, dan kenaikan berat badan harian. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BPT-HMT Serading menerapkan sistem pemeliharaan semi intensif pada sapi jantan muda Bali dengan memberi mereka makan rumput raja, lamtoro, sedotan jagung, dan gamal. Selain ditulis, ternak juga dilepaskan di padang rumput bintang. Konsumsi BK adalah 2,56, PK adalah 0,253 dan TDN adalah 1,53 kg/ kepala / hari, sedangkan kebutuhan BK adalah 3,19, PK adalah 0,331 dan TDN adalah 1,92 kg / kepala / hari. Kenaikan berat badan harian 0,08 kg / kepala / hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jumlah pakan yang dikonsumsi tidak mencukupi untuk sapi jantan muda Bali. Dianjurkan untuk memperhatikan kualitas dan kuantitas pakan yang diberikan kepada ternak, untuk menerapkan teknologi silase dan fermentasi pada cadangan pakan stok di musim kemarau.

Abstract

An experiment to study the effect of using ammoniated and fermented rice straw (Amofer) in ration on performance of Bali cattle was conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed of Animal Husbandry Faculty, Mataram University. This research was carried out for 8 months, started on April to November 2014. The research materials were four male of Bali cattle and rice straw Amofer. The experiment was designed in 4 x 4 Latin Square with 4 heads of Bali cattle, 4 types of diets as treatments, and 4 periods as replications. The variables measured were feed intake, digestibility, average daily gain, and feed efficiency. All data were analyzed with analysis of variance, and tested further by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results of research showed that treatments did not have significant effect (P>0,05) on feed intake, digestibility, average daily gain, and feed efficiency.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the nutrient composition, digestibility dry matter and organic matter fermented rice straw in combination with calcium carbonate, Bacillus sp., and coconut water at different times. Rice straw obtained around the city of Mataram and then was cut into pieces with 3-4 cm in size. Four treatments were applied : PI was 300 g rice straw added with a 3% solution of Bacillus sp. and 7% calcium oxide with no fermentation. Treatments 2 to 4 was similar to the first treatment but fermentation applied were for 14, 21 or 28 days respectively. The variables in the study were observed physical properties, chemical composition (dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, crude fiber, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fibre and lignin ) and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of rice straw. The data obtained were analyzed using a completely randomized design with SAS statistical program package. The results showed that the fermentation time can increase the nutrient composition organic matter, crude protein, digestibility of dry matter and organic matter and decreased crude fiber (neutral detergent fibre, acid detergent fibre, hemisellulosa, cellulose and lignin) of rice straw fermented with a combination of calcium oxide, Bacillus sp, and coconut water.

Abstract

The effect of fermentation duration at improving the quality of ammoniation rice straw with Bacillus sp.probiotic was conducted from July to August 2012. This work was arranged in Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and two replications. The treatments were fermented with 3% Bacillus sp for 0, 10, 20, and 30 days imposed to rice straw with ammoniation.Variables observed were crude protein, crude fiber, NDF, ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose and in vitro digestibility. The result of this study showed that duration of fermentation influenced significantly (P<0,05) on chemical composition and in vitro digestibility. In conclusion, the duration of fermentation influenced on chemical composition and in vitro digestibility. The longer the fermentation duration the higher the content of crude protein and in vitro digestibility. Meanwhile, the proportion of crude fiber, NDF, ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin decreased respectively.

Abstract

Suatu penelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui kandungan mineral hijauan pakan yang umum diberikan kepada sapi Bali di Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Lombok Tengah, Lombok Barat dan Lombok Utara. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama tujuh bulan, mulai dari bulan Mei sampai bulan Desember 2013. Analisis kandungan mineral dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Analitik Fakultas MIPA Universitas Mataram. Analisis kandungan mineral Ca, K, Mg, Na dan Zn ditentukan dengan AAS, sedangkan mineral P ditentukan dengan Spektrofotometer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan kandungan mineral hijauan pakan di Kabupaten Lombok Timur, adalah: Ca 0,46%; P 0,13%; K 2,75%; Mg 0,29%; Na 0,28% dan Zn 38,14 ppm. Lombok Tengah: Ca 1,57%; P 0,20%; K 2,90; Mg 0,318%; Na 0,26% dan Zn 37,71 ppm. Lombok Barat: Ca 1,23 %; P 0,20%; K 3,16%; Mg 0,33%; Na 0,11% dan Zn 55,29 ppm. Lombok Utara: Ca 1,03 %; P 0,17%; K 2,48%; Mg 0,26%; Na 0,14% dan Zn 30,62 ppm. Secara keseluruhan kandungan mineral hijauan pakan yang diberikan kepada Sapi Bali di Pulau Lombok ada pada kisaran batas nilai normal untuk mineral Ca, P, K dan Zn; mineral Na berada di bawah kisaran batas nilai normal; dan mineral Mg ada di atas batas kisaran nilai normal.
