Abstract

This research aims to determine the perceptions of lecturer towards the integration of character education in the groups MKK botany at the Biology Education Program Faculty of Education University of Riau. The sample in this research is lecturer’s in MKK botany taken by total sampling. The data technique collecting is perception questionaires to determine lecturer perceptions of the integration of character education and tests to determine lecturer understanding. The results showed that the perception of lecturer through perception questionaire for each sub-indicators definition of character, the function of character education, the goal of character education, the scope of character education, the implementation of character education and the character education in university is very good, while understanding the character education of lecturer’s is very good. The conclusions in this research is perceptions of lecturer towards the integration of character education in the groups MKK botany is very good.Keywords: Character Education, MKK Botany, Perception.

Abstract

Has been studied to determine the ability of creative thinking and mastery of the concept of students in learning biology class XI SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. Research was conducted in January to March 2011 with sample student is 1 and XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. This research is an experiment with a class XI IPA 1 as a classroom experiment and XI IPA 2 as the control class. The parameters used in the study of creative thinking skills and mastery of the concept of students. The result of creative thinking skills can be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 69.40 with less category, while the control class at 56.60 with less category. The result of student’s mastery of concepts can also be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 80.08 with a high category, while the control class at 68.29 to the medium category. Student learning outcomes can also be seen from the experimental class at 74.74 and 62.45 for the control class. Based on research that has been done, the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) in teaching biology showed better results in terms of creative thinking skills, mastery of concepts and student’s class XI IPA SMAN 2 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2010/2011.Keywords: Creative Thinking, Concept Mastery, Problem Based Learning (PBL)

Abstract

This study aims to increase the activity and student learning outcomes through the implementation of cooperative learning model by giving answer to the question and getting the class X2 Benai SMA N 1 academic year 2011/2012. This research is a class action, which was conducted in January-February 2012. Subjects were high school students X2 N 1 Benai class numbering 36 people, consisting of 16 men and 20 women. Parameter studies are student activities and learning outcomes which consists of studying the absorption and completeness. Average student activity on the cycle I is 74.87% (enough) and increased in the second cycle is 81.28% (good). Average absorption of students in the cycle I is 78.94 (enough) and the second cycle which had an average of 80.42 (good). Thoroughness of student learning in the cycle I was 91.67% (excellent) and 97.22% (excellent) on the second cycle. I cycle a group award in any super group 4 and 3 great group and the second cycle of all groups received a great award. From the research results can be concluded that the use of cooperative learning models by giving a strategy question and getting answer can increase the activity and students' high school class X2 N 1 Benai in the academic year 2011/2012.Keywords: Activities, Cooperative learning, Learning outcomes, The strategy giving question and getting answer.

Abstract

This study aims to improve motivation and learning outcomes with the application of biological science cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualizations (TAI) in a class VIIa SMPN 4 Kunto Darussalam FY 2011/2012. The research was conducted in January-February 2012. Subjects were students in grade 4 Kunto Darussalam VIIa SMP totaling 34 students consisting of 17 students and 17 students. Parameters is motivated by categories: challenge, curiosity, participation, and control, learning outcomes consisting of absorption, the thoroughness of learning and group awards, student activities and teacher activities. The average student motivation prior to the application of learning models, namely TAI 53.12% (average) increased after the application of learning models with an average TAI is 83.00% (high) and the absorption of students in the cycle I is 83.53% (both ) increased in the second cycle to 85.74% (good). Thoroughness of student learning in the cycle I is 70.59% and in the second cycle increased to 94.12%. I cycle a group award for the award and a great group of super 2 4 groups. In the second cycle there are two groups of super honored, three groups received a great award, and one group received both awards. Student activity in the cycle I is 66.24% (or less) increased in the second cycle is 75.75% (enough). I cycle activity with the teacher on an average of 100% (very good) as well as in the second cycle is 100% (very good). From the results of the study concluded that the application of cooperative learning model TAI can increase the motivation to learn science and biology students in grade 4 Kunto Darussalam VIIa SMP Rokan Hulu FY 2011/2012.Keywords: Cooperative Study Team Assisted Individualizations (TAI), Learning Outcomes, Motivation,

Abstract

The research has been to know understanding of the biology teachers to the unit level education curriculum (KTSP) at SMAN in Kuansing regency 2013 year. This typenof research is a descriptive study. The sample was biology teachers SMAN in Kuansing regencies, with indicators the concept of unit level education curriculum (KTSP), development program, implementation of learning, and evaluation of learning. Data collection technique using written tests total of 30 question. From the research results obtained percentage understanding teachers can be seen from the indicators concept KTSP is 60,2% (quite category). The development program is 67,7% (quite category). The implementation of learning is 75,6% (good category). And the evaluation of learning is 65,8% (quite category). From the research results can be concluded that understanding of the biology teachers to the unit level education curriculum (KTSP) at SMAN in Kuansing regencies 2013 year is 67,3% (quite category).Keywords: Understanding, Biology teachers, KTSP

Abstract

Abstract: Learning by using the 2013 curriculum emphasizes on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Students' higher-order thinking skills can be trained by providing evaluations in the form of HOTS test instrument. Learning in this digital era certainly must be able to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the learning process. The process of constructing HOTS test instrument is based on multimedia by using iSpring Suite 9 software. This study aims to develop and to analyze high-quality multimedia-based Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) test instrument about motion system materials for grade eleven senior high school students. This study was conducted at the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau, and SMAN Plus Riau Province Pekanbaru from November 2021 to March 2022. This research used the ADDIE model but only was done to the development stage. The result shows that the validation obtains an average score of 3.52 in the very valid category. The average response in the limited trial is 3.52 in the very good category. The average result of the quality of the HOTS test instrument for multimedia-based motion system materials is 3.52 in the very good category. Analysis of the items shows that the details of the items are reliable, 86.1% of the difficulty level of the HOTS items is in the difficult category, the discriminatory power 77.8% of the HOTS items is acceptable, 71.9% of the distractor function is effective. This study shows that the developed multimedia-based HOTS test instrument have a high quality so that they can be used as biology assessment instruments.Key Words: Multimedia, Motion Systems, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) test instrument.

Abstract

Abstract: Tree branching architectural model material as teaching material Booklet of plant classification material for high school level. Research has been carried out to record the diversity of architectural models of tree branching in the Green Open Space (Green Open Space) of Pekanbaru City Forest in January 2022. This research uses a survey method to directly identify all tree species found in Pekanbaru City Forest Green Open Space, documentation, and identification indirectly by referring to the book by F. Halle & R.A.A. Oldeman, with the title: An Essay On The Architecture and Dynamics of Growth of Tropical Trees. The objects in this study are the main branching of the main branch, the nature of its growth, the direction of branch growth, and the place where the flowers appear. This research booklet is designed for plant classification material. The design of the booklet was carried out in February 2022. There are two stages of making booklet teaching materials, namely the analysis stage and the design stage. The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis and subject matter analysis. The design stage includes making lesson plans and designing booklets. The results showed that there were 11 types of tree branching architectural models or 47.82% of the 23 existing tree architectural models. The 11 types of architectural models consist of 34 species of trees in the open space of the Pekanbaru City Forest, namely Aubreville, Corner, Koriba, Leeuwenberg, Massaart. McClure, Prevost, Rauh, Roux, Scarrone, and Troll. In addition, booklet teaching materials are produced that can be used as additional references for Biology learning, especially Plant Classification materials.Key Words: Tree branching architectural model, Green Open Space, Bookle.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of fermented tofu waste water and rice washing water used as liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of lettuce (lactuca sativa L.) with the hydroponic wick technique. The research was carried out at the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Riau University, Pekanbaru, November 2020 to April 2021. This study consisted of two stages, namely stage I. The combination of fermented tofu waste water and rice washing water on lettuce with a hydroponic wick using an experimental method with a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replications. Phase II is the design of the media booklet. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, and plant root length. Data analysis used ANOVA and DMRT Follow-up Test at 5% level. The results showed that the combination of fermented tofu waste water and rice washing water had a significant effect on the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, and root length of lettuce plants. The best concentration was in the T1B1 treatment with a concentration of 50 ml of tofu waste water and 50 ml of rice washing water. The research data was designed as a booklet for biotechnology material for class XII SMA KD 3.10 and 4.10.Key words: Waste water, tofu, rice washing water, booklets

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat buku catatan bioteknik dengan teknik acrostic mnemonic di kelas VIII SMP/MT, dan untuk mengetahui hasil verifikator dan validasi guru serta respon siswa terhadap buku catatan bioteknik. Kami mengambil pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Untuk penelitian ini, model penelitian R&D yang dipilih adalah ADDIE dan terdiri dari:Analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, evaluasi. Namun, penelitian ini baru mencapai tahap pengembangan. Jenis data dan alat pengumpulan data adalah lembar wawancara dan lembar angket. Beberapa reviewer yang menilai kualitas buku ini adalah dua ahli materi dan dua ahli media. Untuk praktisi pendidikan, beliau memiliki dua orang guru dari dua sekolah yang berbeda yaitu, MTs Al-Munawwarah (1) dan SMP As-Said (1). Dalam tes kelompok kecil, peneliti menyuruhnya bersekolah di dua sekolah, masing-masing dengan 10 siswanya, dan tes kinerja dilakukan di sekolah dengan 10 siswanya. Hasil penelitian ini masuk dalam kategori sangat layak berdasarkan kriteria kelayakan yang dinilai oleh validator. Berdasarkan hasil uji ahli materi persentasenya 84,15%, ahli media 88,19%, guru 88,54%, dan siswa 88,44%, semuanya masuk kategori sangat baik. Tes praktik menunjukkan skor 88,72% yang termasuk kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian Validator, respon guru dan siswa, Buku Panduan Mnemonic Kelas VIII SMP/MTs Materi Struktur Tumbuhan dan Pemanfaatannya dalam Teknologi sangat cocok untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA Kelas VIII. Aku disini. SMP/MT.

Abstract

Abstract: The low learning activity of students in learning material structure and function of plant tissue is caused by two factors. First, the role of the teacher is too dominating. During learning activities on the structure and function of plant tissue, the teacher uses a direct learning model that is teacher-centered and involves a lot of one-way communication. Second, there is a lack of teacher variation in using the media in carrying out learning activities. This study aims to determine the biology learning of SMA Negeri 1 Benai students on the structure and function of plant tissue after limited face-to-face learning (PTMT) of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in class X MIPA 3 and XI MPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Benai in August-September 2022. Data collection instrument was collected by observing, interviewing and documenting. The results of the study were used to determine teacher activity in biology learning at SMA Negeri 1 Benai on the structure and function of plant tissue after limited face-to-face learning (PTMT) of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a test of the credibility of reference materials, member check credibility and descriptive analysis. The conclusion obtained from the activities of teachers in the field of study when studying the structure and function of plant tissue is good with an average of 76.01%.Key Word: Analysis, Biology Learning, Teacher Activities
