Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of depression on mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is a qualitative research with a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 30 subjects from students of the Department of Mathematics Education, FKIP Universitas Islam Malang. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. The data were collected through a questionnaire from the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) consisting of 21 questions. The process of solving mathematical problems is seen from the answer of the subject when working on mathematical questions based on Polya's problem solving steps. The results showed that subjects with normal levels of depression tended to have complete and sequential characteristics of mathematical solutions . Meanwhile, subjects with mild levels of depression tend to solve problems sequentially but incomplete. In addition, subjects with moderate levels of depression tended to solve mathematical problems in an irregular and incomplete manner. Further research is still required to examine the same issue by involving more research samples.الاكتئاب مشكلة في الصحة العقلية. كان الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تحديد تأثير الاكتئاب على قدرات حل المشكلات الرياضية. هذا البحث هو بحث نوعي مع نهج مستعرض. شملت الدراسة 30 مادة من طلاب قسم تعليم الرياضيات، FKIP Universitas Islam Malang. كانت تقنية أخذ العينات المستخدمة هي أخذ العينات الملائمة. تتألف تقنية جمع البيانات المستخدمة في هذه الدراسة باستخدام استبيان من Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) من 21 سؤالًا. يُنظر إلى عملية حل المشكلات الرياضية من إجابة الموضوع عند العمل على حل المشكلات الرياضية استنادًا إلى خطوات حل مشكلة Polya. أظهرت النتائج أن الأشخاص الذين يعانون من مستويات طبيعية من الاكتئاب يميلون إلى أن يكون لديهم خاصية كاملة ومتسلسلة للمشاكل الرياضية. وفي الوقت نفسه، تميل الأشخاص الذين يعانون من مستويات خفيفة من الاكتئاب إلى حل المشاكل في التسلسل ولكن غير مكتملة. علاوة على ذلك، يميل الأشخاص ذوو المستويات المعتدلة من الاكتئاب إلى حل المشكلات الرياضية بطريقة غير منتظمة وغير مكتملة. البحث اللاحق يجعل من الممكن فحص نفس الشيء الذي يتضمن المزيد من عينات البحث.

Abstract

Metacognitive blindness is often found in students with unsatisfactory academic performance. However, this study aims to reveal the process of metacognitive blindness that occurs during problem solving experienced by students with quite good academic performance. The data collected is in the form of words obtained through interviews and pictures of the work of research subjects. Description of data analysis and interpretation of the meaning of findings using text analysis. Analysis is carried out in all phases of problem solving, including analyzing, exploring, planning steps to solve problems, implementing a problem solving plan, and checking again. The results of qualitative analysis show that subjects who are students with good academic performance can experience anomalous results during the problem solving process. In this study, the anomalous result in question is a condition where the subject feels anomaly during the problem solving process, where the anomaly is actually not there. In this case, subjects who have good academic performance tend to have too much confidence. This makes the performance in the problem-solving process less optimal.

Abstract

Metacognitive blindness is usually synonymous with low math ability. However, this study reveals the opposite. Metacognitive blindness can also be experienced by students with good learning achievement. This research was conducted on students majoring in Mathematics Education who have the best academic achievement in their class. The data collected is in the form of words obtained through interviews after solving math problems. The results of the qualitative analysis show that subjects who are students with good academic performance can experience anomalous results during the problem-solving process, which is a condition in which the subject feels that the math problem at hand contains errors. The error in question is, the subject stutters the squares on the chessboard that are not the same size, but in reality they are not.

Abstract

Peranan Statistika sebagai salah satu bidang ilmu yang berfungsi untuk merencanakan, mengumpulkan, menganalisis, menginterpretasi, dan merepresentasikan data sebagai dasar untuk pengambilan keputusan sangat penting bagi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, tidak mengherankan jika Statistika banyak digunakan dalam berbagai disiplin ilmu lain, antara lain ilmu alam, ilmu sosial, maupun ilmu humaniora. Mengingat tidak semua pengguna statistika memiliki latar belakang pendidikan Matematika, maka penggunaan alat bantu program SPSS menjadi alternatif yang patut dipertimbangkan. Sayangnya, dalam aplikasinya, pengguna SPSS lebih banyak sekedar mengikuti langkah-langkah prosedural tanpa memahami mengapa mereka melakukan hal tersebut. Dampaknya, pengguna SPSS banyak yang merasa kesulitan dalam melakukan analisis data statistik dan semakin tidak menyukai statistika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kecemasan statistik pada mahasiswa yang menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan mayoritas mahasiswa dalam penelitian ini (n = 105, 73,4%) tidak menunjukkan kecemasan terhadap statistik melalui empat domain utama yang diukur. Tiga puluh satu siswa (21,7%) menunjukkan kecemasan dalam satu domain, empat siswa (2,8%) menunjukkan kecemasan dalam dua domain dan tiga siswa (2,1%) menunjukkan kecemasan dalam tiga domain. Tidak ada siswa dalam penelitian ini yang menunjukkan kecemasan pada keempat domain sekaligus yang diukur. The role of Statistics as one of the fields of science that functions to plan, collect, analyze, interpret, and represent data as a basis for decision making is very important for the development of science and technology. Therefore, it is not surprising that Statistics is widely used in various other disciplines, including natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Given that not all statistical users have a Mathematics education background, the use of SPSS program tools is an alternative that should be considered. Unfortunately, in the application, SPSS users are more just following procedural steps without understanding why they are doing it. The impact is that many SPSS users find it difficult to analyze statistical data and increasingly dislike statistics. This study aims to determine statistical anxiety conditions in students using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that the majority of students in this study (n = 105, 73.4%) did not show statistics anxiety through the four main domains measured. Thirty-one students (21.7%) showed anxiety in one domain, four students (2.8%) showed anxiety in two domains and three students (2.1%) showed anxiety in three domains. There were no students in this study who showed anxiety in all four domains as well as being measured.

Abstract

Abstrak: Dyscalculia dialami 3-7% populasi dunia. Siswa dyscalculia akan mengalami penurunan prestasi akademik yang signifikan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan delapan orang guru SD Negeri Pisangcandi 3 Malang dalam mengenali gejala awal dyscalculia. Semakin awal siswa menyadari dyscalculia yang dialaminya, maka akan semakin mudah mengatasinya. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, maka tim pengabdi menggunakan metode pelatihan dyscalculia screening pada bulan Februari 2021 secara daring dan luring dengan memperhatikan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Kegiatan pelatihan diawali dengan memberikan angket terkait konsep dyscalculia. Selanjutnya, pada sesi terakhir pelatihan, tim pengabdi memberikan angket berbeda dengan topik yang sama. Hasil akhir kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta pelatihan telah mengikuti kegiatan secara utuh dengan baik. Peningkatan pemahamanan guru dapat dilihat dari hasil angket awal dengan nilai rata-rata 57,5 menjadi 79,5 di akhir pelatihan. Angket awal dan akhir memuat pertanyaan yang berbeda, namun dibangun dari indikator yang sama. Sebelum digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, angket telah melalui proses validasi oleh tiga orang ahli. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman guru rata-rata sebesar 22%.Abstract:  Dyscalculia affects 3-7% of the world's population. Dyscalculia students will experience a significant decrease in academic achievement. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the skills of eight teachers of SD Negeri Pisangcandi 3 Malang in recognizing the early symptoms of dyscalculia. The earlier students realize the dyscalculia they are experiencing, the easier it will be to overcome them. The service team used the dyscalculia screening training method in February 2021 online and offline by observing strict health protocols to achieve this goal. The training activity began by giving a questionnaire related to the concept of dyscalculia. Furthermore, at the last training session, the service team gave a different questionnaire with the same topic. The final results of community service activities showed that all training participants had participated in the activities as a whole well. The teacher's understanding can be seen from the increasing score of the questionnaire—the initial questionnaire results with an average value of 57.5 to 79.5 at the end of the training. The initial and final questionnaires contain different questions but are built on the same indicators. Before being used in community service activities, the questionnaire has gone through a validation process by three experts. The results of the service show that the average increase in teacher understanding is 22%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Gerakan literasi numerasi merupakan suatu gerakan yang dicanangkan pemerintah Indonesia sejak 2016 untuk menyadarkan dan mengembangkan kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik maupun masyarakat. Namun, dalam implementasinya banyak siswa yang masih belum memiliki kemampuan literasi numerasi yang cukup. Salah satunya adalah siswa di SDN 2 Candi Ponorogo. Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang berlangsung di SDN 2 Candi melalui pendampingan berbasis literasi numerasi. Kegiatan pendampingan terdiri dari tiga metode, yakni pembelajaran matematika di dalam kelas, pembelajaran matematika di luar kelas, dan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan adaptasi teknologi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diperolah bahwa sebelum kegiatan pengabdian terdapat 65% siswa yang nilainya masih di bawah KKM, setelah kegiatan pendampingan pembelajaran jumlah siswa yang nilainya di bawah KKM menjadi 40%. Abstract: The numeracy literacy movement is a movement launched by the Indonesian government since 2016 to raise awareness and develop the numeracy literacy skills of students and the community. However, in its implementation, many students still do not have sufficient numeracy literacy skills. One of them is a student at SDN 2 Candi Ponorogo. The purpose of implementing this community service is to improve the quality of learning that takes place at SDN 2 Candi through numeracy-based assistance. Mentoring activities consist of three methods, namely learning mathematics in the classroom, learning mathematics outside the classroom, and learning mathematics using technology adaptation. The results of this community service activity showed that before the service activity there were 65% of students whose scores were still below the KKM, after the learning assistance activities the number of students whose scores were below the KKM was 40%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Rai Malang adalah salah satu Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kota Malang yang saat ini sedang terdampak akibat pandemi covid-19. Untuk dapat tetap bertahan di masa pandemi, pemerintah memberikan batuan Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) kepada UMKM yang telah memenuhi syarat salah satunya yaitu UMKM yang telah memiliki laporan keuangan sesuai standar keuangan SAK EMKM. Pelatihan penyusunan laporan keuangan SAK EMKM dalam kegiatan pengabdian masayarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja keuangan Rai Malang; mengetahui posisi dana baik sumber maupun penggunaannya; membuat sistem anggaran yang baik; dan mengetahui aliran uang tunai dalam periode tertentu. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan secara daring pada tanggal 18 Juli 2021 diikuti oleh 10 orang. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah ceramah untuk menyampaikan konsep materi, praktik menyelesaikan satu siklus akuntansi dalam bentuk kasus. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa para peserta mampu menyerap rata-rata 60% materi pelatihan yang diberikan. Para peserta juga merasa puas dan memandang bahwa pelatihan SAK EMKM ini bermanfaat.Abstract: Rai Malang is one of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Malang City, which is currently affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To survive amid a pandemic, the government provides People's Business Credit (KUR) to MSMEs that have met the requirements, one of which is MSMEs that already have financial reports according to SAK EMKM financial standards. The training for preparing SAK EMKM financial reports in this community service activity aims to determine the financial performance of Rai Malang; knowing the position of funds both source and use; create a good budget system, and knowing the cash flow in a certain period. The training activity was carried out online on July 18, 2021, attended by ten people. The implementation method used in this community service activity is a lecture to convey the concept of the material, the practice of completing an accounting cycle in a case. The monitoring and evaluation results showed that the participants were able to absorb an average of 60% of the training materials provided. The participants were also satisfied and saw that the SAK EMKM training was helpful.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study. The research objective was to describe the reflective abstraction process experienced by students. The research subject was a class VIII student. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The subjects were chosen because they considered their communication skills which were quite good compared to their peers, making it easier for researchers to explore data. In addition, the selected subjects were students with very satisfying academic achievements compared to their classmates. This study examines and explains the reflective abstraction that the subject does in solving the number sequence problem. The focus of research is the process of reflective abstraction which includes interiorization, coordination, reversal, encapsulation, and generalization. The results showed that the reflective abstraction stage did not guarantee arriving at the correct solution. In this study the subject performs all stages of reflective abstraction starting from interiorization, coordination, reversal, encapsulation, and generalization, but the final solution is wrong. This phenomenon is said to be pseudo-reflective abstraction or pseudo-reflective abstraction.

Abstract

Ditandai dengan kinerja aritmatika yang buruk, dyscalculia memiliki efek negatif pada karir serta kesehatan mental dan fisik individu Dari 40 siswa di SDN Pisang Candi 3 Kota Malang yang mengalami kesulitan dalam pelajaran Matematika, terdapat 13 orang siswa yang prestasi matematikanya tidak mengalami peningkatan meskipun telah diberikan jam belajar tambahan dalam bimbingan guru kelas masing-masing. Selanjutnya, 13 siswa ini diberikan pendampingan oleh tim pengabdi bekerja sama dengan para guru kelas masing-masing. Pendampingan yang dilakukan terdiri dari lima materi meliputi: (a) simple reaction time; (b) dot enumeration; (c) numerical stroop; (d) addition; dan (e) multiplication. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berlangsung sejak tanggal 9 - 27 Februari 2021. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara blended, dengan memadukan kegiatan daring dan luring dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Secara umum, siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan deteksi dini dyscalculia dapat diidentifikasi menjadi tiga kelompok besar, yaitu: empat orang siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep bilangan (number), dua orang siswa yang mengalami masalah dalam berhitung (counting), dan tujuh orang siswa yang mengalami masalah dalam ketrampilan aritmatika.
