Abstract

This paper presents the effect of volume fraction of rice husks on the mechanical properties of bamboo fiber/unsaturated polyester composites. The composite specimens were made from bamboo fiber with fixed volume fraction of 40% and rice husk particle as filler with volume fractions varied 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. Matrix used was unsaturated polyester resin. Bamboo fibers and rice husk were surface treated using alkali solution 4% (by weight) for 2 hours. The manufacturing process of composite was using hand layup method. The specimens were tested in tension, bending and in impact loading. The results show that the addition of rice husk particles up to volume fraction of 20% does not result in a decrease of tensile strength, but after a volume fraction of 20%, the tensile strength tends to decrease. In bending test, the rice husk volume fraction up to 20% increase the bending strength, but after that then it tends to decrease. However the bending modulus seems unaffected by the volume fraction of rice husk. Similar to the bending modulus, the impact strength is not significantly affected by the volume fraction of rice husk.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat kegiatan, yaitu perencanaan (planning), tindakan (acting), observasi (observing) dan refleksi (reflecting). Pada siklus pertama, teknik supervisi individual  diberikan dalam bentuk pemberian informasi teoritis tentang pengembangan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil dari kegiatan siklus pertama masih belum dapat dikatakan berhasil, hal ini disebabkan peroleh rata-rata sekor para guru masih di bawah 56 atau sedang. Pada siklus kedua, teknik supervisi individual ditindaklanjuti dengan memberikan bantuan praktis, di mana peneliti dan peserta secara kolaboratif mengembangkan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Pada siklus kedua, hasil pengembangan silabus mata pelajaran yang disusun oleh guru meningkat, hal ini dibuktikan dengan peroleh rata-rata sekor para guru sebesar 100 atau amat baik. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam mengembangkan silabus. Pada siklus pertama penguasaan kompetensi guru adalah 50% atau sedang, kemudian meningkat menjadi 100% atau baik. Artinya teknik supervisi individual memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam mengembangkan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif merupakan kemampuan yang diperlukan di abad 21 sehingga kemampuan tersebut merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan. Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang kesalahan siswa dalam menjawab soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada materi pecahan berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan yang mungkin dilakukan siswa terkait soal-soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif materi pecahan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 13 siswa SMP di Pagaralam yang berada di kelas VII. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah descriptive-qualitative. Dalam hal ini, instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal-soal esai tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan indikator-indikator yaitu kelancaran, fleksibilitas dan kebaruan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam Reading, Comprehension, Transformation, Process Skill, dan Encoding berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa kesalahan dalam reading menyebabkan siswa tidak mencapai indikator kelancaran dengan maksimal. Kesalahan pada comprehension menyebabkan siswa tidak dapat mencapai indikator fleksibelitas dengan maksimal. Selain itu, pencapaian pada indikator kebaruan perlu didukung oleh kemampuan siswa untuk menjawab soal tanpa melakukan.kesalahan.

Abstract

This paper presents the design of parameters of  hydraulic ram pump and hydraulic turbine to use  the energy of flowing water for water supply to generate electrical power and irrigation. Design of  parameters of hydraulic ram pump with head of water supply of 1,5 m was obtained: 1,25 in. diameter and  8 m length of drive pipe,  200 gr and 4,6 cm of weight  and diameter of impulse valve,  4.200 cm3 of air chamber volume. The testing results of the hydraulic ram pump model shown that water could be pumped as far as the height of 7 m and 8 m, with the volume flow rate of 2,755 lit/men and 1,73 lit/men.  Design of  geometric parameters of cross flow hydraulic turbine with head of water supply of 1,75 m was obtained:  12 cm and 8 cm of external and internal diameter, 25 cm of runner width,  and 18 of runner number.   The testing results of the cross flow hydraulic turbine shown that power could be generated 83,47 W with the volume flow rate of 0,01 lit/s and the efficiency of 71,05 % at 799 rpm. The testing result also shown that with using volume flow rate of 0,003 lit/s, this turbine could be generated 23,39 W with the efficiency of 46,64 %. Technically the technology of hydraulic ram pump can be developped and used to supply of water for irrigation and generating of electrical power.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar matematika berbasis masalah yang berorientasi pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan prestasi belajar matematika, yang valid, praktis, dan efektif, pada materi lingkaran VIII SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang dikembangkan diadaptasi dari model pengembangan ADDIE. Tahap-tahap yang dilakukan meliputi: tahap analisis, tahap perencanaan, tahap pengembangan, tahap implementasi, dan tahap evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar penilaian guru, lembar penilaian siswa, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, dan tes prestasi belajar matematika. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa buku panduan guru yang dan buku siswa yang dikembangkan berada dalam kategori sangat baik dan baik. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa buku panduan guru dan buku siswa berada dalam kategori baik. Hasil uji coba berdasarkan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan prestasi belajar matematika mencapai hasil masing-masing 72% dan 75% serta menunjukkan bahwa buku panduan guru dan buku siswa berada dalam kategori baik. Sehingga, disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar matematika berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas yang valid, praktis, dan efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Developing Problem-Based Mathematics Instructional Materials Oriented to Students’ Mathematics Problem Solving Skill And Mathematics Achievement AbstractThis research aimed to produce a problem-based mathematics instructional materials oriented to students’ mathematics problem solving skill and achievement, which is valid, practical, and effective, on the topic of circle for VIII grade students of  junior high school. This developmental research used ADDIE developmental model, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation step. The instrument used in this research were validation sheet, teacher assessment sheet, student assessment sheet, teaching  observation sheet, test of students’ mathematics problem solving skill and achievement. This research produces problem-based mathematics instructional materials consisting teacher guide book and student book. The result of the validation shows that the teacher guide book and student book was very good and good. The result of the try out indicated that teacher guide book and student book were good. The result of the try out based on students’ mathematics problem solving skill and mathematics achievement reached 72% and 75%, showed that the teacher guide book and student book were good. It can conclude that a problem-based mathematics instructional materials was valid, practical, and effective oriented to students’ mathematics problem solving skill and achievement.Keywords: mathematics instructional materials based on problem,mathematics problem solving skiil, mathematics students achievement

Abstract

A Community Service activity entitled “Diffusion of Innovations of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education to Mathematics Teachers of Junior High School (SMP) in Sleman Regency through Lesson Study” aims at diffusing Innovations of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia: PMRI) to Mathematics Teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency who are actively participating in SubjectBased Teachers Group (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran: MGMP) of Mathematics. The diffusion is conducted through Lesson Study. Specifically, this PPM activity aims at improving understanding of mathematics teachers as participants on excellences of PMRI and Lesson Study and increasing teachers’ willingness to implement PMRI in the Lesson Study format. Objects of the study were 25 mathematics teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency actively participating in MGMP. The first activity was socialization on PMRI and Lesson Study. It was conducted on July 12, 2012 in the Mathematics Education Laboratory and was joined by 25 participants. The second activity was in a workshop on Development of Learning Tools and the implementation of the plan phase which was conducted on July 26, 2012 in the Mathematics Education Laboratory with 25 participants. Meanwhile, the third activity was the implementation of the do and see phase conducted on August 9, 2012 at SMP Muhammadiyah III Depok Sleman with 25 participants. In the beginning and the end of the activity, all participants were given written questions to reveal their understanding on PMRI and Lesson Study. In the end of the activity, questions were added about advantages of PMRI and Lesson Study. All participants of the activity stated that PMRI and Lesson Study are very advantageous for students and teachers. All of them also committed to implement PMRI in the Lesson Study format. Considering the results above, it can be concluded that this PPM activity is successful to improve the understanding of mathematics teachers as participants on excellences of PMRI and Lesson Study and also works to increase their willingness to implement PMRI in the Lesson study format. In addition, all participants also hope on the follow-up of this activity. Therefore, Department of Education, Youth and Sport of Sleman Regency and UNY (Yogyakarta State University) need to establish cooperation to facilitate the implementation of PMRI in the Lesson Study format for mathematics teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency.Keywords: realistic mathematics education, and mathematics lesson study

Abstract

The study waterwheel performance has done by utilizing the potentional of water energy source which is found inirrigation channel in Koto Tibun Village, Kampar Subdistrict, Kampar Regency. The purpose of this study is todetermine the achievement of the waterwheel curved undershot type on the irrigation canal. The design has beendone to get a curved angle of 54.21⁰ with a blade length of 0.7 m. The result is obtained from the test is the massof water type (ρ) 972 Kg / m³, the maximum water wheel eaya 244.3736 W at the 5th discharge (Q5) is 0.2221 m³/ s, and the highest efficiency 58.62576% at the discharge 3 (Q3 = 0.1671 m³ / s) with 1.3 rpm and 186.874 W.Achievement of waterwheels curved undershot curve can be seen through the power graph and the efficiency ofthe rotation indicating that the greater the value it will be along with the increase in rotational speed and willdrop at a certain speed of play.Keywords: waterwheel, undershot, curved blade, irrigation, picohydro

Abstract

The ability of mathematical representation in learning is very necessary, especially in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to examine the ability of students' mathematical representation in learning mathematics. Data is collected through related journals for review. The research method chosen in this study was to find the SRL (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection was carried out by documenting and reviewing all articles on mathematical representation abilities published in the period 2016-2021. The articles used in this study were 29 international journal articles indexed by Scopus and 31 nationally accredited which were obtained from the undergraduate google database using the publish or perish application. The ability of mathematical representation is very closely related to students, especially in learning mathematics, which is a form of interpretation of students' thoughts on problems that are used as tools to find solutions to mathematical problems.The results showed that the ability of mathematical representation in learning mathematics can be improved by providing innovations in learning and providing opportunities for students to develop mathematical representation skills by fulfilling the indicators of the mathematical representation itself. Thus the students' mathematical representation ability is no longer in the low category in solving mathematical problems.
