Abstract

The increasing of renewable energy applications such as solar cells, wind power, ocean thermal and HVDC (high voltage direct current) cause increment in the use of the inverter circuit. Harmonics that are generated by the inverter have negative impacts on the electrical equipment; harmonics cause excessive heat and may shorten the life of electrical equipment. A multilevel inverter is an arranged of cascaded inverters which aims to reduce totalĀ  harmonic distortion (THD). This paper proposes the design of 17 levels of a single-phase cascaded multilevel inverter with a hybrid filter insertion. By using PSIM simulator, the hybrid filter is proven reducing THD better than single pulse width modulation (SPWM) inverter. Installation of the hybrid filter is able to fix a maximum of 0.23% THDv and a maximum of 1.05% THDi. Hybrid filter installation reduces the value of THD to comply with IEEE 519-2014 standard.

Abstract

Transmission control protocol provides reliable communication between two or more parties. Each transmitted packet is acknowledged to make sure successful deliveries. Transport layer security protocols send security information exchange as TCP loads. As results, the handshaking stage experiences longer delay as TCP acknowledgement process has already been delay prone. Furthermore, the security message transfers may have their own risks as they are not well protected yet. This paper proposes TCP-embedded three pass protocol for dynamic key exchange. The key exchange is embedded into TCP headers so that transmission delay is reduced, and message transfer is secured. The proposed protocol was assessed on self network by using socket programming in lossless environment. The assessments showed that the proposed protocol reduced three-pass protocol message transfer delay up to 25.8% on lossless channel. The assessment on security also showed that TCP-embedded three pass protocol successfully secured each transmitted TCP load using a unique key; that is much securer than the compared method.

Abstract

Transformator daya adalah bagian integral dari hampir semua jaringan penyaluran daya listrik mulai dari pembangkitan sampai ke pengguna energi listrik (jaringan transmisi dan distribusi). Pelayanan yang baik merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam suplai daya listrik. Ada sejumlah faktor yang menggganggu operasi sebuah transformator, diantaranya adalah keberadaan harmonisa listrik dalam sistem tenaga listrik. Perkembangan penggunaan beban-beban listrik non linear yang sejalan dengan perkembangan pengunaan komponen dan peralatan berbasiskan pada konverter daya. Tulisan ini memberikan kajian pengaruh harmonisa terhadap unjuk kerja dari sebuah transformator dengan adanya harmonisa yang dikhususkan atas adanya DC bias.Analisis dilakukan lewat Simulasi menggunakan software MATLAB dan verifikasi dilakukan lewat data eksperimental. Hasil menujukkan keluaran simulasi bersesuain dengan data pengujian langsung. DC bias mengakibatkan pola harmonisa orde genap juga menjadi lebih signifikan.
