Abstract

The study aimed to understand the value of national character education in Law number 23 of 2019. The policy of developing character values through the Act is related to strengthening national character. The method used qualitative descriptive. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. At the same time, the data analysis technique is presented in the form of narrative text through procedures, namely coding, data reduction, data presentation, data triangulation, drawing conclusions, and data analysis. The results show that there are thirteen character education values found in Law number 23 of 2019. Eleven character values are relevant to the character values conceptualized in the Indonesian education curriculum, and two new values are the values of patriotism and the spirit of Pancasila. The implications found are related to understanding the concept of character values by the diversity of Indonesian society

Abstract

The zoning system in accepting new students is the government's effort to build quality, fair and equitable education. The purpose of the study was to obtain in-depth information about the implementation of the zoning system in the acceptance of new students in Jakarta. This study used a descriptive qualitative tentative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The study results concluded that the implementation of the zoning system in the acceptance of new students was quite good and provided equal opportunities for all prospective students according to the right selection path. While the problems complained about are related to the internet network and also fraud committed by some people. However, the results of this study have an impact on improving the more equitable zoning system.

Abstract

Teacher performance has a huge influence on the achievement of education. This study aims to determine the effect of leader-member exchange and work culture on teacher performance in elementary schools throughout the Neglasari District, Tangerang City. The research method used a survey. Participants involved in the study were 110 teachers drawn from 24 schools in Neglasari District. Data were taken using a questionnaire. Data analysis technique using regression. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there is a direct positive influence of leader-member exchange on teacher performance, (2) there is a direct positive influence of work culture on teacher performance, and (3) there is a direct positive influence of leader-member exchange on work culture. So, it can be concluded that the quality of teacher performance is influenced by internal and external factors, such as work culture and leader-member exchange. The study results have implications for the work system in schools that must be built by school principals that are relevant to teacher competence.

Abstract

Teacher’s performance plays a crucial role in achieving quality of education and good character of students. Low teacher’s performance will decrease quality of graduates itself. Based on data in north Jakarta vocational school, teacher’s performance is in priority programs of government, and still need to be increased. The objectives of this research is to investigate whether there exist any direct positive effect of transformational leadership and work motivation towards teacher’s performance at North Jakarta Vocational School. As many as 81 from 443 teachers were used as research samples to obtain data which were then analyzed using quantitative methods of path analysis. The result shows that there exists a positive direct effect of (1) transformational leadership towards teacher performance, (2) work motivation towards teacher performance, (3) transformational leadership towards work motivation.

Abstract

Curriculum management is one of the important components in the process of providing education in an educational unit. Therefore, curriculum management should receive more attention as an effort to optimize the quality of education. This study aims to analyze curriculum management in intercultural schools. The focus of this research is the component of curriculum management which consists of the curriculum planning stage, the organizing stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. This research is research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study were collected through observation and interviews with principals, teachers, and representatives of curriculum developers. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using the data analysis method according to Milles and Huberman which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that curriculum management/management in intercultural schools has been implemented by following the stages of curriculum development which include planning, organizing/coordinating, implementing, and evaluating curriculum stages. The implementation of the stages of curriculum development shows that the curriculum management process has been carried out in a good category.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the application of limited face-to-face learning policies in schools in the DKI Jakarta area. This policy emerged through a study of the impact of online learning and also the reduction in the transmission rate of the Covid-19 virus. So, the gap in this research is the understanding of the concept of implementing government policies regarding face-to-face learning is limited. The research method used is qualitative through a survey. The object of observation to examine this limited face-to-face learning is from Early Childhood Education to Senior High School. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documents. data analysis technique consists of stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The validity of the data consists of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results showed that the implementation of the limited face-to-face learning policy was by the results of the study of the condition of the spread of the covid-19 virus, the results of discussions with schools, and also the results of input from parents. The implementation of limited face-to-face learning is carried out with careful planning, directed, and routinely evaluating learning activities by minimizing the obstacles experienced during limited learning activities.

Abstract

This study analyzed the effect of organizational climate and quality of work-life on teachers’ creativity throughout state vocational high schools in Serang, Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work involved 164 civil servant teachers in state vocational high schools in Serang, Indonesia as the sample. As the major analysis tool, we used a multiple linear regression model. The hypothesis test used the t-test and f-test. The study revealed that: i) Organizational climate positively and significantly influenced the civil servant teachers’ creativity amid the COVID-19 pandemic with a significance value of .000 (α<.005); ii) The quality of work-life also had a positive and significant effect on the teachers’ creativity during this difficult situation has significance value of .000 (α<.005); and iii) The quality of their work influenced both organizational climate and the creativity of state vocational high school teachers living in Serang, Indonesia, with a determination coefficient of .861 or 86.1% during the pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku kreatif guru dengan motivasi belajar siswa SMP Negeri di Jakarta Selatan selama pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ) di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 304 siswa dari SMP Negeri di Jakarta Selatan yang diambil secara acak proporsional. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji signifikansi regresi dan uji linieritas. Kemudian untuk uji hipotesis menggunakan korelasi product moment, koefisien determinasi dan uji t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kreatif guru memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan motivasi belajar siswa. Perilaku kreatif yang dapat dilakukan guru diantaranya adalah pembuatan video pembelajaran sendiri, menggunakan nada nyanyian untuk materi pelajaran yang sulit, mengambil contoh yang berasal dari sekitar rumah siswa, dan membuat channel youtube sendiri. Perilaku kreatif guru dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan proses pembelajaran yang aktif inovatif kreatif efektif dan menyenangkan akan menguatkan motivasi belajar siswa selama pandemi Covid-19.
