Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop appropriate reading teaching materials for use in elementary schools. The study used the 4D research method by developing reading teaching materials using the DRTA strategy in predicting reading. Several analyzes the defining phase of needs analysis, including curriculum, concepts, and tasks. While in the study of students about the suitability of teaching materials developed with the level of student development. The design phase of teaching material development begins with the design of RPP with the curriculum. The format and preparation of teaching materials are modified from the cover, preface, table of contents, usage instructions, concept maps, competencies to be achieved, tasks, and work instructions. The development phase includes the validation of teaching materials and RPP. Then the product is tested to see the practicality and effectiveness of the teaching materials that have been developed. Research results explained RPP validation for aspects of learning objectives with an average of 94 very valid and aspects of learning material with 100 very valid. The dissemination stage of the assessment process for reading skills is done using an assessment rubric. The average class value at meeting 1 is 93.34. The second meeting is 89.142. The third meeting is 85.92 with an overall average of 89.46 with a very good category. The assessed aspects are several student skills, from predicting reading activities, reading techniques, filling in the meaning of words that have not been understood, writing down the main contents of the reading text, and summarizing the summary of the reading contents.

Abstract

The Education in elementary school is a very important factor. Because the elementary school level is the foundation for the development of children's thinking and learning abilities influences and influences to the next level. The purpose of this research is to determine the academic achievement of students who are influenced by the parent’s education level. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlation test. The research conducted at Elementary school of 105 Tampan Pekanbaru to all of grade V students, with 150 total students. The Researcher used the Krejcie and Morgan tables sampling with 108 students. Based on the results of the correlation test shows that the magnitude of the father's education correlation coefficient on student academic achievement is 0.012 while the correlation of maternal education to student academic achievement is 0.081. Both are below the value of the r product moment correlation coefficient table for a sample of 108 with a significance level of 5% that is equal to 0.187. Thus the hypothesis H0 is accepted, it means that there is no meaningful relationship between parental education and student achievement.

Abstract

Deafness is a hearing loss that is different from other normal students so that a teacher must be able to provide optimal learning so that the purpose of this study provides an overview of the learning done by the teacher in teaching students. The use of this research method is a qualitative method using observation and interview instruments. Technical analysis of data 1) Reducing data means making a summary, choosing the main things, focusing on important things, looking for themes and patterns, discarding what is considered unnecessary. 2) Presentation of data is directed so that the results of the reduction data are organized, arranged in a relationship pattern so that it is more easily understood 3) The initial conclusions put forward by researchers are still temporary and will change if strong evidence is found that supports the next stage of data collection. The results of this study illustrate that learning for students with disabilities should pay more attention by giving views and touches so that they know that the teacher invites them to communicate that has a facial expression. Not too many methods are used in teaching but the approach is done by solving problems and providing concrete examples by maximizing voices and facial expressions in a voice in order to train the hearing of deaf students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the learning outcomes of fourth grade students in elementary schools who take tutoring with students who do not take tutoring and find out the motivation of students to follow guidance. Categories of student learning outcomes with the motivation of students who take tutoring are evaluated from the very low, low, medium, high, and very high categories. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. This research was conducted on 98 students from a public elementary school in Pekanbaru. The instruments used to collect data are objective test questions on the material of flat shapes, statistics and angle measurements as well as questionnaires about students' motivation to follow tutoring. The results of this study indicate that the learning outcomes of students who take tutoring are better than students who do not follow tutoring, and the motivation of students who take tutoring is motivated because students' desire to obtain learning outcomes is increased and better understand the science of mathematics learned. The implication of this research is that parents need to consider their children to attend tutoring and schools need to think and design learning that can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop big book media for learning Indonesian in grade 3 elementary school and to determine the feasibility of big book learning media. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods using the FOUR-D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminte) model. The data collection technique used is by using questionnaires and trials. The feasibility of big book learning media is obtained from the results of media validation and testing. Validation was carried out by material experts and learning media experts. The results of the research show that the validation of the material experts and the validation of the learning media experts are very valid. The trials used in this study were limited to 10 students and received a very good response. The results of this development research indicate that the big book media for learning Indonesian in grade 3 Elementary School is very suitable for use in learning in Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a folklore comic about the origin of the sungai sorai for fifth grade elementary school students and to determine the feasibility of the sungai sorai origin folklore comic for fifth grade elementary school students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method or research and development using the Four-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires and written tests. The feasibility of folklore comics was obtained from the results of validation, product trials and written tests. Validation is carried out by design experts, linguists and practitioners. The product trials conducted were limited to only 10 students. The written test used is in the form of objective questions to determine students' knowledge and understanding of folklore comics. The results showed that the validation of design experts obtained an assessment with a very valid category. In validation, linguists obtained an assessment with a very valid category. The next validation is practitioner validation with a very valid category. The product trial used is a limited product trial with the category of student response assessment which is very good. The student's written test in the form of objective questions about folklore comics received an assessment in the very good category. The results of this development research indicate that the folklore comic "The Origin of the Sungai Sorai" is very suitable for use for fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan minat baca mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di perpustakaan Universitas Riau. Metode kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambaran minat baca mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di perpustakaan Universitas Riau. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Universitas Riau yang berjumlah 113 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah kuesioner terkait minat baca yang terdiri dari pernyataan positif dan negatif, dengan jawaban berupa pilihan selalu, sering, kadang-kadang dan tidak pernah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat baca mahasiwa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Riau berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 66,2%. Faktor yang mempengaruhi minat baca  mahasiswa yang terdiri dari faktor dorongan,  motif sosial, emosional, situasi belajar dan pengalaman. Jadi, faktor yang memiliki konstribusi terbesar yaitu faktor dorongan dengan dengan persentase keseluruhan yaitu 22,4%. Hasil ini juga menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi minat baca mahasiswa sangat beragam.

Abstract

The development of science and technology is increasingly encouraging renewal efforts in the use of technological results in the learning process. Teachers are required to be able to understand and use the available tools in an effort to achieve the expected teaching goals. This study aims to determine the teacher's knowledge about the use of macromedia flash applications. Based on the results in several schools in general, teachers are not well acquainted with the application of macromedia flash, until it was found that there were still many teachers who taught using conventional methods. With such conditions, it certainly has an impact on low student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop cartoon puppet media for social studies learning in elementary schools and to determine the feasibility of developing cartoon puppet media. This study uses research and development methods or Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique used is by using a questionnaire and a limited trial. The results of the feasibility of the cartoon puppet media were obtained from the validation of experts and media trials. Validation is carried out by media experts, material experts and practitioners. The validation results show that the cartoon puppet media is very valid. Limited trials conducted on 5 students got a response that was categorized as very good. The results of this development research indicate that the cartoon puppet media is suitable for social studies learning in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials based on Malay teaching and learning in elementary schools for fourth-grade elementary school students. The type of writing is Research and development using a 4D development model. The results obtained that teaching materials based on Malay teaching and learning are very valid and very practical so that they are "very feasible" to be used in learning. The validation results from media experts obtained an average score of 93.75% in the "Very Valid" category. The assessment of the material expert validators obtained an average score of 97.91% with the "Very Valid" category. Furthermore, the class teacher validator with the validation results showed an average score of 88.02% with the "Very Valid" category. Assessment of research products in a limited trial using the practicality of teachers and students. The results of the average score of teacher practicality are 88.09% in the very practical category. Then the results of the practicality of students obtained an average score of 87.36% with a very practical category. Keywords : Development, teaching material, Malay Teaching and Learning
