Abstract

The government and schools have tried to strengthen the implementation of character education. However, there is no program to overcome radicalism. Everything returns to each individual, including the successful implementation of character education, which can at least minimize the influence of radicalism on the school environment. This study is intended to obtain a hypothetical model of Character-Based Leadership that can effectively affect the implementation of character education and efforts to combat radicalism. This research was conducted by studying phenomena that are part of the qualitative method. The object of this research is high school-level schools exposed to radicalism. The schools taken were two schools that had been exposed to radicalism. The subjects of this study were the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interview techniques, complemented by observation and document review. Data collection was carried out by several visits to the research field, cross-checking, primary data, and secondary data, complemented by literature studies and previous research. This study also meta-analyses several leadership models as a theoretical basis in producing character-based leadership components. The data processing of the results of this study was assisted by the NVIVO 12 Software to facilitate researchers in finding research results from so much field data. From the results of data analysis, researchers get many components of character values from character-based leadership, constructs, and frameworks in the implementation of character education. Finally, this study proposes the ideal character values possessed by someone who can be included in the category of character-based leadership who can become a leader in the implementation of character education and a leader who can prevent and overcome radicalism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dibantu program software Nvivo 12 Plus, informan terdiri dari para guru, peserta didik, dan industri. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan snowball sampling, sehingga terdapat informan kunci dan informan pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter, seperti disiplin, religius, bersahabat/komunikatif, kerja keras, tanggung jawab dan jujur merupakan nilai-nilai utama yang acap kali diberikan pendidik kepada peserta didik di SMK. Sedangkan karakter siswa yang cenderung diinginkan oleh industri adalah religius, disiplin, bersahabat/komunikatif, tanggung jawab dan jujur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari delapan belas nilai karakter yang ada, empat nilai yang sama muncul, perbedaannya terletak di kerja keras dan jujur. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembentukan karakter peserta didik di SMK membutuhkan elaborasi yang baik antara satuan pendidikan, masyarakat dan keluarga, sehingga tujuan dari pendidikan karakter ini dapat tercapai dengan maksimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bagimana IAIN Lhokseumawe mengembangkan dosen dalam meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah melalui pemberdayaan Professional Learning Community. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan partisipan mulai dari wakil rektor, dekan, dan dosen. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pada IAIN Lhokseumawe belum memiliki sistem pengelola pengembangan dosen secara terstruktur dan dosen mengembangkan dirinya secara mandiri, sehingga produktivitas kinerja publikasi dosen pada IAIN Lhokseumawe terjadi penurunan dari sejak tahun 2021 sampai dengan tahun 2022, ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja publikasi pada IAIN Lhokseumawe terjadi penurunan setiap tahun dalam dua tahun terakhir. Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kinerja publikasi dilakukan pengembangan dosen melalui pemberdayaan Professional Learning Community dengan tahapan 1) membagikan pengalaman dosen publikasi ilmiah dengan sesama dosen, 2) mengkaji kembali secara logis dan kritis terhadap kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah melalui kegiatan reflective study, 3) membuat komitmen bersama dalam menghasilkan dan meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah, dan 4) membetuk kelompok baru sesuai dengan keilmuan dosen dan 5)menetapakan rencana tindak lanjut. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pemberdayaan Professional Learning Community dosen dengan memberikan pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah dan pelatihan metode publikasi artikel ilmiah. Peningkatan produktivitas kinerja publikasi dosen dapat dilakukan oleh IAIN Lhokseumawe dengan membentuk sistem pengembangan dosen secara terstruktur melalui; perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan monitoring serta evaluasi dalam rangka memberdayakan Professional Learning Community

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the utilization of the internet and the internet access of vocational teachers at the vocational schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research uses  a descriptive quantitative method and the research instrument used was a set of questionnaires distributed to 267 vocational school teachers in West Java before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research variables include the utilization aspects and the vocational teachers' access to the internet at home and at school in searching for learning material resources. The data obtained were analysed using statistical analysis.. Results show that 82% of teachers used the internet to find the subject-related resources, 66% possessed teleconferencing facilities, 63% already had internet connections at home. Furthermore, teachers' internet usage frequency during the COVID-19 pandemic was higher than before COVID-19. Teachers who work from home used the internet longer during the COVID-19 pandemic; more than 5 hours a day, compared to pre-COVID-19; which was 1-2 hours. Teachers who work from school also used the internet 3-4 hours longer during the COVID-19  than prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was around 1-2 hours.
