Abstract

This paper aims to present about media literacy movements and education carried out by the Children's Media Development Foundation (YPMA) with a perspective on media political economy studies. YPMA was chosen as the object of research because it is widely known as an institution that concentrates and is consistent in the development of child literacy in Indonesia. This paper focuses on the strategy of movement and media literacy education carried out by YPMA during the period 2006 to 2016. The method used is qualitative with descriptive research type. It is known that YPMA has a target in every program implementation is at the age of children and adolescents. Therefore, YPMA devised several strategies such as socialization and campaigns through schools and other educational institutions, held training for teachers, and emphasized the involvement of parents as a significant other in media literacy education.Keyword: Media Literacy, YPMA, Political Economy,

Abstract

Inspired by the Media Repertoire idea in various studies, this article analyzes what digital immigrant groups build-in using Smartphones in everyday life. The repertoire is the selection of media used periodically based on its usefulness and became an identifiable routine. This study grouped Smartphones activities for various interests into 5 themes including; Entertainment, Transactions, Consumption, Production/Participation, and Social Welfare Services. How the results of the online repertoire on Smartphones based on these 5 themes. Whether the frequency of use using The Uses and Gratification theory can form a Repertoire of 5 grouped themes, the researcher take this data at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang for lecturers and active employees who are a group of Digital Immigrants by distributing online questionnaires and sampling techniques using the formula Slovin (N: 107). To identify the online repertoire in Smartphones using PLS (Partial Least Square) analysis so that it can be known as the coefficient value in variable X in influencing variable Y. The results showed that consumption theme has a coefficient value of 0.849 > from t-table 0.6 which means it has the largest contribution compared to other 4 dimensions so that consumption is an online repertoire in Smartphones in the Digital Immigrant group and the frequency of use (Uses & Gratification theory) has a dominant influence in the formation of online repertoire in Smartphones with a statistical value of 4,526 > from t-table 1.96. The conclusion is that the duration and frequency of using smartphones can make Indonesian people, especially digital groups of immigrants, become active consumers to shop online in e-commerce.

Abstract

Kegiatan wisata di kampung wisata Cinangneng yang satu ini cukup unik karena agrowisata dipadukan dengan wisata budaya. Paket yang ditawarkan tidak hanya sekedar untuk diketahui oleh pengunjung melainkan bersifat mendidik (edukatif). Pengunjung dilibatkan langsung dalam kegiatan pertanian seperti paket pulang kampung dengan kegiatan sebagai berikut : Bercocok tanam dari mulai menanam, menggarap sampai memanen, Memandikan kerbau, Ronda kampung, Berkreasi dengan huruf dan warna diatas caping (topi petani), Bermain ala permainan anak desa, Belajar  tari jaipongan dan gamelan, belajar main angklung dan bernyanyi sunda, membungkus nasi timbel , Dan lain sebagainya. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh: Kondisi sosial ekonomi  responden termasuk dalam kategori tinggi (79,16%) antara lain: tingkat pendidikan (53,33%). jumlah tanggungan keluarga responden (66,67%). Motivasi (46,67%). Kemudian kontak dengan penyuluh (80%). Tingkat partisipasi dalam pengelolaan kampung wisata Cinangneng Desa Cihideung Udik, pada tahap perencanaan (87,55%).  Pada tahap pelaksanaan (84,44%), Sedangkan pada tahap menikmati hasi tergolong tinggi (100%). Hubungan antara faktor-faktor sosial ekonomi dengan partisipasi dalam pengelolaan kampung wisata Cinangneng antara lain sebagai berikut : dengan menggunakan analisis tabel silang (Cross Table Analysis) dan analisis Rank Sperman (Rs) terbukti bahwa terdapat hubungan antara faktor sosial ekonomi dengan partisipasi.   Kata kunci: Faktor Sosial Ekonomi, Partisipasi

Abstract

In the past few years, the number of countries that implement internet shutdown policy has increased. The Indonesian government has also adopted a similar way. During 2019, the government has slowed or blocked internet access for three times: in May related to protest of Presidential Election in Jakarta; in August related to riots in Papua and West Papua; and in September in Wamena which also related to riots. In fact, besides its beneficial aspects, internet shutdown policy can cost bad to many sectors, including online journalism. This study tried to uncover how Detik.com – as one of the very few pioneers of online journalism in Indonesia – framed news about internet shutdown phenomena in Papua during August 2019. In this constructivist paradigm research, researchers analyzed 34 news samples using framing models from Pan and Kosicki, then discussed the findings with Social Construction of Reality Theory proposed by Berger and Luckmann. Based on the framing analysis done, Detik.com actively shaped the perception of internet shutdown as a positively aimed government’s policy, although still willing to give contrary views in the imbalanced portion. It practices “crab journalism” to keep contributing to society as a media company and adapting to the political situation at the same time.

Abstract

Prospek platform media sosial sebagai alat komunikasi dan edukasi dalam bidang pertanian menarik untuk dikaji. Studi ini difokuskan untuk mendiskripsikan persepsi konsumen tentang aspek teknis dari Instagram dan perannya sebagai metoda untuk bertransaksi dan pembelajaran produk pertanian tertentu. Sebuah survei secara online dilakukan, yang menjaring 53 followers dari 7 komunitas online sayuran, yang dioperasikan di wilayah Malang Raya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas pembeli sayuran via Instagram adalah perempuan berpendidikan tinggi, yang telah lebih dari tiga tahun menggunakan media sosial tahun. Melalui teknis analisis Skala Likert terungkap bahwa Instagram dipersepsi positif karena relatif kemudahan dalam penggunaan dan fleksibilitasnya. Selain memudahkan proses transfer informasi dan transaksi pertanian, Instagram juga mendorong budaya pembelajaran partisipatoris dan pertukaran pengetahuan dan inovasi, merefleksikan pembangunan agri-collective intelligence. Namun, dalam jangka waktu tertentu, cukup banyak pembeli yang ragu untuk melakukan transaksi sayuran lagi—  mengindikasikan adanya persoalan keberlanjutan dalam bertransaksi secara online.

Abstract

Income is one of the factors that influence Island women to carry out a survival strategy. Not only that, there are still other factors that influence. These factors are collected in household asset capital, each of which is interrelated and there is also a factor that is most dominating among others. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the survival strategy in Gedugan Village, Giligenting Island and analyze the relationship between the factors that influence the survival strategy of island women. The method used is quantitative analysis by distributing questionnaires (Likert scale), observation and interviews. The sampling method used was random sampling with Slovin. The variables used in this study are financial capital, social capital, natural capital, physical capital and human capital, while the analytical method used is factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the most dominant and most influential factor on the survival strategy of Pulau Perempuan was financial capital.

Abstract

The role of women is no longer associated with their nature as housewives but has developed to work in the public sector, this research method is qualitative descriptive research. The focus of the research is the people in Saliki Village. The data used are primary data sources and secondary data. Data collection using field research consists of observation, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative analysis techniques of Miles Huberman and Saldana. The perception of the people in Saliki Village provides positive things and supports women working as laborers on oil palm plantations, with the aim of helping the family economy, time to gather and interact with limited communities and social activities are not always time, but still maintained relationships and good friends with the community in Saliki Village. The role of women in the public sector is well run and in the domestic sector remains responsible as a housewife.

Abstract

The development of Agribusiness Sub Terminal aims to increase the added value of farmers, by cutting the long chain of distribution, started from producer farmers, collector traders, large traders to consumers. However, the extension of the chain still occurs, where farmers prefer to sell their agricultural products to intermediary traders than to the Integrated Agribusiness Sub Terminal of  Taniran. The purpose of this research is to find out why farmers prefer to sell agricultural products to intermediary traders than to Integrated Agribusiness Sub Terminal of Taniran. The research approach uses qualitative case study design and informant determination techniques purposively. The results of the research found that there are four reasons why farmers sell their vegetables to intermediary traders, namely: (a) family and social relationship, (b) limited capital, (c) guaranteed marketing of vegetables in a fluctuated price, (d) assistance in the process of sorting, packing and transporting.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on socio-economic changes globally, including at KWT Sri Rejeki. KWT Sri Rejeki has superior local food products that already use a modern touch in their packaging, but sales are still far above the average before the pandemic. This study aims to formulate a model of adaptation strategy of KWT Sri Rejeki through Digital Marketing. The research uses action research to gain knowledge as well as to take action to create change in KWT Sri Rejeki. In-depth interviews and field observations to get a diagnosis of the problem in order to determine an action plan, implementation and evaluation. Data analysis uses In Vivo Coding which is then followed by Pattern Coding by using short words or short phrases obtained through the informant's sentences. The results showed that the adaptation strategy model at KWT Sri Rejeki was conducting marketing analysis, marketing formulation, and marketing implementation and then integrated training was carried out to improve hard skills and soft skills and then developed a plan followed by a presentation. After being presented, it is then implemented in a business unit owned by KWT Sri Rejeki after an evaluation has been carried out as a reflection of the effectiveness of the strategy model that has been formulated.

Abstract

Partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan wisata desa, menjadi tolok ukur keberhasilan suatu penyebaran informasi oleh agen pembaharu atau penyuluh. Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain 1) mengidentifikasi karakteristik inovasi wisata Bon Deso dan 2) mendesain rancangan penyuluhan guna memberikan kesadaran petani Desa Tulungrejo terhadap pentingnya pengembangan wisata Bon Deso. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan action-research untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan sekaligus mengambil tindakan untuk menciptakan perubahan perilaku pada Petani. Penelitian ini berlokasi di wisata Bon Deso, Desa Tulungrejo, Kota Batu. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 6 orang dengan 1 sebagai key informan yang ditetapkan secara purposive serta 5 sebagai informan tambahan yang ditetapkan dengan snowball sampling. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan untuk mengeskplorasi permasalahan sehingga dapat ditentukan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Analisa dilakukan secara deskriptif untuk menjabarkan fenomena yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wisata Bon Deso sesuai dengan karakteristik sosial-ekonomi masyarakat dan lingkungan, dapat diamatiidan dicoba. Akan tetapi, wisata tersebut belum memberikan keuntungan sebab belum beroperasi dan mengalami kendala berupa lemahnya dukungan dari stakeholder terkait. Pada aspek perancangan penyuluhan, penetapan tujuan, sasaran, materi, metode, serta media dinilai efektif karena hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan secara signifikan dari petani. Rekomendasi penelitian ini yaitu melakukan tindakan persuatif dan memfasilitasi petani dalam memahami konsep wisata berkelanjutan.
