Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the productivity, competition indices and nutrient content of Brachiaria decumbens (grass), Centrosema pubescens and Clitoria ternatea (legumes) as sole and mixed cropping system in peatland in Pekanbaru, Indonesia from October 2011 to November 2012. The experiment was set up in randomized complete block design with five treatments and three blocks as replication. Five treatments compared: B. decumbens sole cropping (Bd), C. pubescens sole cropping (Cp), C. ternatea sole cropping (Ct), B..decumbens and C. pubescens mixed cropping (Bd+Cp) and B. decumbens and C..ternatea mixed cropping (Bd+Ct). The dry matter (DM) yield of B. decumbens was significantly (P<0.05) increased by mixed cropping. B. decumbens DM yield in C. pubescens intercrop increased by 147.9% and in C. ternatea intercrop increased by 74.1% compare to sole B. decumbens. Land equivalent ratio (LER) value range from 1.04 (Bd+Ct) to 1.58 (Bd+Cp). The crowding coefficient (K) value of B. decumbens in both mixed croping system was higher than K value of C. pubescens and C. ternatea. The total K value for Bd+Cp was higher than Bd+Ct. The competition ratio (CR) value of B. decumbens mixed cropping with C. pubescens and C. ternatea were.>1. The aggressivity (A) value of B. decumbens in both mixed cropping was positive. The crude protein (CP) content of B.decumbens did not significantly (P>0.05) increased by mixed cropping with legumes. Intercropping with B. decumbens significantly (P<0.05) decreased CP content of C. ternatea. Meanwhile neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and acid detergent fibre (ADF) content of B. decumbens did not decrease by intercropping with C.pubescens and C. ternatea. In conclusion, mixed cropping with C. pubescens and C. ternatea in peatland increased DM yield of B. decumbens. Mixed cropping with B. decumbens did not influence DM yield of C. pubescens and decreased DM yield and CP content of C..ternatea. Mixed cropping of B. decumbens with C. pubescens and B. decumbens with C..ternatea in peatland did not increase total DM yield of forage per unit area of land and nutrition contents of forage. Abstract

Abstract. This study was aimed to determine and compare the dry matter yield and nutrient content of Indigofera and Leucaena grown in peatland. This experiment was conducted in peatland type soil (type sapric) in Pekanbaru city, DM yield and nutrient contents data were analyzed by 2x3 factorial design with 3 replication. Two treatments compared were Indigofera zollingeriana (Indigofera) and Leucaena leucocephala (Leucaena). Indigofera was proven significantly higher than Leucaena in all harvest regarding dry matter (DM) of leaf and stem of 29.9% and 25%, respectively, crude protein (CP) of 23.1% and 17.6%, respectively. While neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and acid detergent fibre (ADF) content of Indigofera leaf (35.9% and 25.1%, respectively) was significantly lower than those of Leucaena leaf (40.9% and 29.3%, respectively). It was concluded that the production and nutritive value of Indigofera zollingeriana was superior to Leucaena leucocephala in peatland (type sapric). Key words: Legume tree, Sapric, nutrient content, In vitro digestibiliy              Abstrak.  Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan dan membandingkan bahan kering dan kandungan nutrisi Indigofera dan Leucaena yang tumbuh di lahan gambut. Percobaan ini dilakukan di lahan gambut di Pekanbaru menggunakan pola faktorial 2x3 dengan ulangan 3 kali. Dua perlakuan yang dibandingkan adalah Indigofera zollingeriana (Indigofera) dan Leucaena leucocephala (Leucaena). Indigofera terbukti secara nyata lebih tinggi daripada Leucana di semua periode panen, berkaitan dengan kandungan BK (bahan kering) daun dan batang berturut-turut 29,9% dan 25%, dan protein kasar (PK) 23,1% dan 17,6%. sedangkan neutral detergent fibre (NDF) dan acid detergent fibre (ADF) daun indigofera berturut-turut 35,9% dan 25,1%, lebih rendah secara nyata daripada daun Leucaena, yaitu 40,9% dan 29,3%. Disimpulkan bahwa produksi dan nilai nutrisi Indigofera zollingeriana lebih tinggi dari Leucaena leucocephala di lahan gambut (jenis saprik) Kata kunci: Pohon legume, Saprik, Kandungan Nutrisi, Kecernaan in vitro

Abstract

Perlintasan sebidang merupakan suatu pertemuan antara jalan rel dan jalan raya. Perlintasan sebidang harus memenuhi persyaratan standar yang sudah ditetapkan oleh instansi terkait meliputi kondisi geometrik, ruang bebas dan ruang bangun serta jarak pandang agar perlintasan sebidang nyaman dan aman untuk dilalui kendaraan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi kondisi geometrik, ruang bebas dan ruang bangun serta jarak pandang perlintasan sebidang. Penelitian ini menggunakan hasil pengamatan di lapangan dan data dari Dinas Perhubungan untuk membandingkan kondisi lapangan dengan persyaratan. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua perlintasan sebidang, yaitu perlintasan sebidang di Jl. Raya Margorejo dan Jl. Raya Jemur Sari. Perlintasan sebidang Jl. Raya Margorejo dan Jl. Raya Jemur Sari memiliki kondisi geometrik dan jarak pandang yang belum layak untuk dilewati kendaraan karena belum memenuhi standar persyaratan yang telah ditetapkan, sedangkan pada ruang bebas dan ruang bangun sudah memenuhi persyaratan. Pada perlintasan sebidang Jl. Raya Margorejo dan Jl. Raya Jemur Sari masih terdapat halangan yang mengganggu jarak pandang pengendara dan masinis.

Abstract

Winged bean (Fabaceae) is a tropical crop that has high nutrient content, and almost all parts of the plant are edible. The research aimed to evaluate the growth and production of winged bean in an intercropping system with tomato. The study was conducted at the Cikabayan Experimental Field of Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia, in a randomized block design with three replications during the rainy season of December 2017 to June 2018. Winged beans were planted in high and low population densities and intercropped with three tomato genotypes, “Tora”, F70030081-12-16-3 and “Apel Belgia”. Monoculture winged bean was assigned as control. Tomatoes were planted between the rows of the winged beans in the intercropping treatment. The results showed that the growth of winged bean in monoculture and intercropping systems was not significantly different. The photosynthetic activity of winged bean at three to five weeks after planting remained high, indicating that the vegetative growth was optimal in both systems. Intercropping increased the winged bean number of pods per plant by 12.66-19.52% compared to monoculture, irrespective of population density. Therefore, winged bean could be considered as suitable to grow in intercropping systems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sungai Kambu pada bulan Maret–Mei 2015. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelimpahan, komposisi ukuran, dan pola pertumbuhan udang windu di Sungai Kambu Sulawesi Tenggara. Total sampel selama penelitian 227 individu dengan nilai pendugaan kelimpahan berkisar antara 15–62 ind/m2. Hasil analisis ukuran panjang dan bobot terdapat 8 kelas. Ukuran terbesar untuk kelas panjang yaitu kelas ukuran 8,79−9,44 cm dan terkecil kelas ukuran 4,54−4,98 cm. Ukuran terbesar untuk kelas bobot yaitu kelas ukuran 13,66−17,06 gr dan terkecil kelas ukuran 1,78−2,37 gr. Udang yang dominan tertangkap tergolong udang windu muda. Hubungan panjang dan bobot menunjukkan bahwa pola pertumbuhan yang terbentuk pada bulan Maret yaitu allometrik positif dengan nilai b (3,1644), sementara pada bulan April adalah pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif yakni nilai b (2,246) dan pada bulan Mei pola pertumbuhan yang terbentuk adalah allometrik negatif dengan nilai b (2,675). Nilai parameter kualitas air yang diamati adalah suhu berkisar antara 27–300C, kecerahan berkisar antara 20–72,5 cm, kedalaman perairan berkisar antara 1,75–3,5 m, kecepatan arus berkisar antara 0,32–0,91 m/d, Salinitas perairan relatif konstan yakni 11 ppt, pH berkisar antara 7–7,5 dan Plankton di perairan berkisar antara 5–7 jenis plankton. Kondisi tersebut merupakan kondisi yang baik bagi kehidupan udang windu.Kata Kunci : Kelimpahan, Pertumbuhan, Udang windu (Penaeus monodon), Sungai Kambu.

Abstract

Cekaman kekeringan menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman diantaranya terjadinya penurunan laju asimilasi. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Rumah Plastik Lapangan Riset Padi Babakan, University Farm IPB, Bogor (± 240 m dpl) pada bulan September 2011 sampai February 2012. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan split plot 3 ulangan, dengan dua faktor perlakuan yaitu faktor utama (Cekaman kekeringan) sebagai petak utama yang terdiri dari penghentian pemberian air umur 3Minggu Setelah Transplanting (3MST) sampai panen; Penghentian pemberian air umur  6 MST sampai panen; penghentian pemberian air umur 9 MST sampai panen dan  kontrol.  Sedangkan faktor kedua adalah varietas yang ditempatkan sebagai anak petak yaitu IR 64, Ciherang, IPB 3S, Way Apo Buru, Jatiluhur, Menthik Wangi, Silugonggo dan Rokan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan cekaman kekeringan pada saat awal fase vegetatif sampai panen dan pada fase pra antesis sampai panen menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan laju asimilasi bersih berkisar 42.96%-78.95% dan laju tumbuh relatif berkisar 22.95%-69.62%. Varietas Jatiluhur dan Ciherang memiliki laju asimilasi bersih yang lebih tinggi pada perlakuan cekaman kekeringan yang diberikan pada awal fase vegetatif sampai panen

Abstract

Water stress is one of factors which causes low yield of lowland. This study aimed to identify and characterize morphology and physiology of drought tolerant rice varieties. Experiments which have conducted: (i) Investigation of rice varieties tolerance to drought stress at early vegetative stage in the laboratory (ii) morphology and physiology characters of rice varieties to drought stress in the paddy field and (iii) determining the character of root of  rice tolerant to drought stress. The experimental design used was split plot design with 3 (three) replications, with drought stress as the main plot and the variety as sub-plot. The result of screening test at the laboratory using PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) which could characterize which rice varieties could be considered as drought tolerant varieties. Results showed that periods of drought increasing the proline content at Ciherang (25.38 μmol) and IPB 3S varieties (22.08 μmol) at 13 WAT (Week After Transplanting). The variety that has the highest total sugar content in the flowering stage is Rokan (289.38 mg.g-1DW) followed by Menthik Wangi (230.53 mg.g1DW), while the lowest sugar content in harvest found in Jatiluhur (17.14 mg.g-1DW) followed by Way Apo Buru (46.99 mg.g-1DW). Jatiluhur, Way Apo Buru and IPB 3S varieties have drought tolerant based on the root characteristic. Ciherang, IPB 3S, Way Apo Buru and Jatiluhur varieties were drought tolerant and potential to be used in paddy field.

Abstract

AbstractRepresentation is central to study of mathematics. Students can develop and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts and relationships as they create, compare, and use various representations. This research aimed to evaluate the students? ability of mathematical representation on the function subject matter. The subjects of this research were the students who had learn the function subject matter, they were grade VIII students of SMP Bumi Khatulistiwa. The method which used in this research was a descriptive  with case study. The technique of data collection were measurement technique and the direct communication technique. Based on the data analysis, generally the students? ability of mathematical representation in the middle categorized. The students could not represent the data correctly because the writer still found an error of their writing. According to the three types of representation which used such as visual representation, verbal representation and symbolic representation, the highest mean score was symbolic representation it was 16,07 ( 44,64%). Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to investigate how well is the ability of  the Third Semester  Regular A Students of the English Education Study Program in Academic Year 2012/2013 in pronouncing voiced and voiceless consonants. Method of this research is descriptive study by holding three time of test using minimal pairs. Subject of this research is all of the Third Semester  Regular A Students of the English Education Study Program in Academic Year 2012/2013. Data of the research was collected by using pronouncing practice oral test of minimal pairs. Result of this research is the main score of students’ pronouncing ability at the first test was 91.37, the second test was 89.40 and the last test was 91.48 which was categorized as good to excellent. The result of the students’ mean score had shown their significant ability in pronouncing English voiced and voiceless consonants. Key word : Pronouncing Voiced and Voiceless Consonants, minimal Pairs. Abstrak : Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mennyelidiki seberapa baik kemampuan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Reguler A semester ketiga tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dalam melafalkan konsonan voiced dan voiceless Bahasa Inggris menggunakan minimal pairs. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif dengan melakukan tiga kali test menggunakan minimal pairs. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Reguler A Semester ketiga tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Data penelitian didapatkan dengan menggunakan test lisan praktek pelafalan minimal pairs. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh mahasiswa pada test pertama adalah 91,37, test kedua 89,40 dan test terakhir 91,48 yang dikategorikan baik sampai dengan luar biasa. Hasil nilai rata-rata mahasiswa ini telah menunjukkan kemampuan signifikan mereka dalam melafalkan  konsonan voiced dan voiceless Bahasa Inggris. Abstract

ABSTRAKMeniran adalah anggota dari famili Euphorbiaceae. Lignan, berupafilantin dan hipofilantin yang ada di dalam tanaman, dilaporkan sebagaiagen hepatoprotektif dalam terapi pengobatan yang utama. Eksplorasitelah dilakukan terhadap 13 aksesi meniran pada berbagai tipe habitat yangberbeda di Kabupaten Bangkalan dan Gresik, Provinsi Jawa Timur.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari aksesi dan tarafnaungan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kandungan filantin dan hipofilantintanaman meniran (Phyllanthus sp. L). Penelitian dilakukan di KebunPercobaan IPB di Babakan Sawah Baru, Bogor, Jawa Barat denganketinggian tempat 250 m dml dari Maret 2009 sampai September 2009.Percobaan disusun dalam rancangan petak terbagi dengan 3 kali ulangan.Petak utama adalah 3 taraf naungan (N) terdiri atas : 0% (N0), 25%naungan (N1) dan 50% naungan (N2). Anak petak adalah 13 aksesimeniran (A) terdiri atas : A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, A11,A12, dan A13 berasal dari Bangkalan dan Gresik. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa naungan 50% meningkatkan tinggi tanaman danmenurunkan jumlah daun majemuk. Terjadi interaksi naungan dan aksesiterhadap jumlah cabang. Uji Duncan menghasilkan 3 kelompok aksesiyang mempunyai respon berbeda terhadap naungan. Aksesi nomor 6 dan 7merupakan aksesi yang menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan produksi biomassayang lebih besar dibandingkan aksesi lainnya. Aksesi nomor 7 mempunyaikandungan total filantin dan hipofilantin tertinggi, karena pengaruhnaungan dapat menurunkan kandungan total filantin dan meningkatkankandungan total hipofilantin.Kata kunci : Phyllanthus sp. The sub plot wasof Phyllanthus sp. accessions (A) consisting of A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6,A7, A8, A9, A10, A11, A12, and A13 taken from Bangkalan and Gresik.The results showed that 50% shade increased plant height but decreasednumber of leaves. Interaction between shading intensity and accessiongave significant effect on number of branches. Referring to their responseson shades, all accessions were divided into 3 groups by DMRT. Biomassproductions of accessions number 6 and 7 were greater than the otheraccessions. Accession number 7 was the highest in phyllanthin andhypophyllanthin contents where the shading reduced the phyllanthin butincreased the hypophyllanthin contents.Key words: Phyllanthus sp., phyllanthin, hypophyllanthin, shading,accessions
