Abstract

The present research aims to describe linguistic and non-linguistic problems in Arabic learning process at “Songserm Wittaya Mulnithi Kuttao”, Thailand and to offer alternative solutions for both. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The result of this research are linguistic and non-linguistic problems; the linguistic problems are the difficulty in pronouncing some Arabic letters, the presence of tashrif in Arabic, and the differences in sentence arrangement and the non-linguistic problems are the learning method I used did not have any variation, the learning media I used did not have any variation, and the students are not motivated to learn Arabic. The alternative solutions to the linguistic problem are the repeating of Arabic letters that are different by Siam language for phonology problems, simplify the material of binyah kalimah and the material of mawaqi’ al i’rob for morphology problems, the giving of patterns of jumlah ismiyyah and jumlah fi’liyah and their examples for syntax efficiency problems. The alternative solutions to the non-linguistic problem are the use of learning methods that are varied and in accordance with the learning objectives, student conditions, and the material taught for the problems in the learning method, the use of learning media that are varied for the problems in the learning media, developing students' enthusiasm by learning Arabic for the problems in students.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between reading anxiety and reading comprehension of ESP students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. The participants in this study were 50 first-year Governmental Science students who took intensive reading I. This study used correlational design to analyze the relationship between two variables (Reading anxiety and Reading comprehension). In collecting the data, the English Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Inventory (EFLRAI) questionnaire was used to investigate the level and potential causes of reading anxiety. Moreover, in assembling students' reading comprehension data, the researcher constructed a reading comprehension test specifically for governmental science students. Based on the study results, the non-English department students belong to moderate a level of reading anxiety. Specifically, reading anxiety is divided into three main aspects; top-down reading anxiety, bottom-up reading anxiety, and classroom reading anxiety. It was found out that the most potent sources of reading anxiety were in bottom-up reading anxiety, namely unclear-meaning vocabulary in English written text. Regarding students reading comprehension level, the ESP students have a low reading comprehension score. Besides, the research findings illustrated that there is a negative moderate-strong relationship between reading anxiety and Comprehension of ESP students. In means, the higher anxiety the students have, the lower their comprehension score they obtained. Thus, by knowing this, the teacher should select a carefully teaching method in their ESP classroom to decrease their reading anxiety and encourage them to improve their reading comprehension and deal with their anxiety.

Abstract

الملخّص: يستهدف هذا البحث لتحليل و وصف التعبيرات الاصطلاحية و ترجمة معانيها على حسب الوظائف النهائية للترجمة مرهون بسياق الجملة  في " المختصر المختار من تفسير الشعراوي للقرآن العظيم الجزء الثاني". جرى هذا البحث على منهج البحث الوصفي الكيفي و الكمي بالإحصائيات البسيطة. و دلت نتائج البحث على البيانات الموجودة و هي 244 تعبيرا اصطلاحيا يشمله من 179 تعبيرا اصطلاحيا من نوع شبه الجملة و 65 من نوع الجملة. و ترجمة معاني التعبيرات الاصطلاحية على حسب الوظائف النهائية للترجمة مرهون بسياق الجملة  في الكتاب.الكلمات الرئيسة : التعبيرات الاصطلاحية، الترجمة، تفسير الشعراوي للقرآن العظيم.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث إلى انتاج المعجم ثنائي اللغة الرقمي وغير الرقمي لتلاميذ المدرسة الابتدائية ومعرفة مدى صلاحيته ومدى فعاليته في تعليم اللغة العربية. و المفردات مصحوبة بالأمثلة في الجملة البسيطة والصورة الجذابة. المنهج المستخدم في هذا البحث هو منهج البحث والتطوير عند بورغ وغال. وطريقة جمع البيانات هي طريقة الملاحظة والمقابلة والاستبانة وورقة التحقيق والاختبارين أي الاختبار القبلي والاختبار البعدي. ونتيجة هذا البحث هي (1) قد تم تطوير المعجم ثنائي اللغة (عربية – إندونيسية) الرقمي وغير الرقمي لتلاميذ المدرسة الابتدائية، (2) اعتمادا على النتيجة المحصولة من خبير المواد وخبير الوسائل التعليمية واستبانة استجابة الدارسين، هذا المعجم ذو صلاحية جيدة جدا، (3) بناء على نتيجة التجربة الميدانية التي تمت تنفيذها بالاختبار القبلي والاختبار البعدي من قبل التلاميذ، فقررت أن هذا المعجم فعال جدا للاستخدام في تدريس اللغة العربية ويمكن ترقية نتيجة التلاميذ في تدريس اللغة العربية. This study aims to produce a product in the form of an Arabic-Indonesian dictionary digital and non-digital to improve the vocabulary skills of students at Islamic elementary school and to know the level of validity and the level of effectiveness. Equipped with simple sentence examples and an attractive picture. The research model used is the Research and Development model based on model of Borg & Gall. Methods of data collection in the form of observation, interview, questionnaire, validation sheets, and two tests, namely pre-test and post-test. The result of this research is (1) a bilingual (Arabic-Indonesian) digital and non-digital dictionary has been developed for the students of Islamic elementary school, (2) depending of the result obtained from the material expert and media expert and the students’ response questionnaire, this dictionary is of very good validity, (3) based on the result of the field experiment that was carried out through the pre-test and post-test by students, it is considered that this dictionary is very effective for improving vocabulary efficiency and for increasing the value of student in the Arabic learning

Abstract

This article aimed to verify the effectivity of Himmati to improve the Arabic reading skills of beginners. The target population here was all of the beginners in Indonesia as well as some other countries in Southeast Asia. While the accessible population was the beginners in MAN 4 Banyuwangi, Indonesia among the new students of 2020/2021. Based on the experiment results on 21 samples who participated in the online ATQ program using Himmati, which were analyzed with the paired-sample t-test, it was found a value of sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < P-value 0,50, while the value of tcount 5,901 > ttable 2,086. It showed that there was difference in the Arabic reading skills for beginners between pretest and post-test scores. Because the post-test score 87,19 > pretest score 80,38.  So it can be concluded that Himmati is effective as a textbook to improve the Arabic reading skills for beginners in MAN 4 Banyuwangi. Thus, Himmati can be recommended as a textbook to be used by more beginners to improve the Arabic reading skills.

Abstract

الملخص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى إنتاج كتاب البلاغة الدراسي باستخدام الخريطة الذهنية لقسم الأدب العربي Universitas Negeri Malang بأندونيسيا، ثم وصف هذه المواد وصلاحيتها. ونتائج هذا البحث هي كتاب المواد الدرسية في البلاغة بموضوع "خلاصة علم البديع". يحتوى هذا الكتاب على وحدتين. الوحدة الأولى المحسنات اللفظية. والوحدة الثانية المحسنات المعنوية. والوحدة الأولى أي المحسنات اللفظية تتكون من ثلاثة دروس، وهي: (١) الجناس و(٢) الاقتباس و(٣) السجع. وأما الوحدة الثانية أي المحسنات المعنوية تتكون من أربعة دروس، وهي: (١) التورية و(٢) الطباق و(٣) المقابلة و(٤) المبالغة. (٢) هذه المواد صالحة لاستخدامها في تدريس البلاغة في القسم. وهذا يعرف من نتيجة صلاحية المواد الدراسية المطورة من خبير الوسائل التعليمية وخبير المادة وتطبيقها في التعليم (87%).الكلمات الرئيسية: تطوير، مواد دراسية، خريطة ذهنية، بلاغة.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristic and quality of Journalistic Arabic Dictionary. This study method has five development steps (1) analysis and data collection, (2) design, (3) development, (4) validation, and (5) revision. The result showed that the average level of product quality is very good in content and design according to validators, lecturer, and students of Arabic Literature in State University of Malang.

Abstract

AbstractThe presence of the corona pandemic has had a huge influence on the world. In Indonesia, this condition triggers education experts to color change, so that learning activities can be carried out. One of them is by utilizing various online media. In this article, an implementation plan of the ATQ program (Al-Arabiyah li Ta'allum al-Qur'an) using the book Himmati which is held online to improve reading skills of beginners in MAN 4 Banyuwangi and the factors that influence it. This is a qualitative descriptive study that uses documentation and observation techniques to collect data. The results of this study indicate that the online ATQ program at MAN 4 Banyuwangi consists of three stages, namely preparation, e-learning, and assessment. The most dominant factor that supports the implementation of the ATQ program is the availability of human resources with adequate capabilities. Meanwhile, the most dominant factor that hinders the implementation of the ATQ program is the inadequate internet quota for beginners.Keywords: E-Learning, ATQ Program, Himmati, MAN 4 Banyuwangi, and Pandemic Period. AbstrakKehadiran masa pademi korona memberikan pengaruh yang besar di seluruh dunia. Di negara Indonesia, kondisi ini justru memicu para pakar pendidikan untuk mewarnai perubahan, agar kegiatan pembelajaran tetap dapat dilangsungkan. Salah satunya yaitu dengan memanfaatkan berbagai media online. Pada artikel ini akan dipaparkan rancangan pelaksanaan program ATQ (Al-Arabiyah li Ta’allum al-Qur’an) menggunakan buku Himmati yang diselenggarakan secara online untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik pemula di MAN 4 Banyuwangi berikut faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan teknik dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rancangan pelaksanaan program ATQ online di MAN 4 Banyuwangi terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pembelajaran online, dan penilaian. Faktor yang paling dominan yang mendukung pelaksanaan program ATQ online adalah ketersediaan tim ahli mentor dengan kemampuan yang memadai. Sedangkan faktor yang paling dominan yang menghambat pelaksanaan program ATQ online adalah kuota internet yang kurang memadai bagi para pelajar pemula.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Online, Program ATQ,  Himmati, MAN 4 Banyuwangi, dan Masa Pandemi.

Abstract

Learning motivation has been examined for its positive influence on learning outcomes. However, little attention has been addressed to the development of measuring instruments of learning motivation in the context of reading the Quran in Indonesian higher education. This study was designed to develop a Quran learning motivation questionnaire. The Self-Determination Theory (SDT) was applied as a theoretical framework to explore the type dan level of motivation. Participants involved in this study were 420 students. They were divided into subsample one for exploratory factor analysis (N = 200) and subsample two with confirmatory factor analysis (N = 220). The questionnaire was developed with 12 item-three factors using five points Likert scale that can measure the learning motivation in reading Quran. The results of the study show that the level of student motivation is relatively low (M= 3.12), and the intrinsic motivation type (M= 3.99) is more dominant than extrinsic motivation survival (M= 2.99) and approval (M= 2.38) with a p-value of 0.000. In addition, it was found that female students (M= 3.19) had significantly higher motivation than male students (M= 3.04), with a p-value of 0.017.
