Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the effectiveness of PKN learning towards the development of student nationalism in Manggarai Regency. By knowing the effectiveness of PKN learning, the government and educational institutions should specifically pay attention to the whole process of organizing learning. This type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative conducted in schools from elementary school to high school in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques include the analysis of student responses and activities. Based on the results of research students in Manggarai Regency have an attitude of nationalism known thanks to the learning PKN obtained during their education. The spirit of student nationalism is reflected in the attitude of creating harmony in religious life, upholding the law, being active in national development and feeling proud as an Indonesian citizen.

Abstract

Keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran sangat bergantung pada kemampuan guru menerapkan strategi, metode, pendekatan dan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sehingga materi pelajaran mudah dipahami siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang bisa digunakan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran adalah model pembelajaran cooperative tipe Jigsaw. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw  adalah suatu tipe pembelajaran kooperatif yang mendorong siswa aktif dan saling membantu dalam menguasai materi pelajaran untuk mencapai prestasi yang maksimal. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di SDK Mukun 1 metode ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional lainnya.

Abstract

Kecemasan komunikasi merupakan gejala yang lumrah ada dalam diri setiap manusia,namun tetap merupakan suatu bahaya yang mengancam kualitas individu dalam membangunkomunikasi dengan sesamanya. Kecemasan komunikasi sebagai suatu reaksi negatif dalam diriindividu berupa kecemasan ketika hendak berkomunikasi baik komunikasi antara pribadi, komunikasi di depan umum, di media massa dan sebagainya. Sebagai suatu reaksi negatif maka kecemasan komunikasi cenderung mendatangkan suasana yang mengancam aura-aura positif dalam diri untuk terus berkembang melalui hubungannya dengan yang lain. Karena itu sebagai reaksi negatif maka kecemasan komunikasi harus dihilangkan. Dan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untukmembangkitkan keberanian komunikasi dalam diri peserta didik adalah melalui metode pembelajaranberbasis student center learning. Student center learning merupakan metode pembelajaran yangberpusat pada peserta didik dimana secara aktif, inovatif, kreatif dan bertanggung jawab dalamkeseluruhan proses belajar. Melalui metode student centered learning, peserta didik mampu memiliki karakter pribadi yang tidak takut berkomunikasi, melahirkan konsep diri yang memiliki keyakinan akan kemampuan dalam diri untuk berkomunikasi di depan publik dan memiliki kompetensi yang dibutuhkan untuk dapat berkomunikasi.

Abstract

Communication anxiety is commonly experienced by human being. Anxiety is the emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often by nervous behavior. Itis, however, a threat which impedes and affects individuals in building quality of communication with others. Anxiety may also occur to a personin interpersonal communication. Therefore, it should be well treated by encouraging the students’ bravery in communication. Student-centered learning (SCL) is a cooperative learning which emphasizes the students’ participation and engagement in learning process. By this method, the learners are able to develop their character and self-efficacy in performing public communication.

Abstract

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum was born as an answer to the weaknesses and shortcomings of the 2006 KTSP curriculum which is directed to prepare students to have the ability to live as individuals and citizens who are faithful, productive, creative, innovative, and affective and able to contribute to the life of society, nation, state, and world civilization. And the purpose of this study is to determine the problems of implementing the 2013 curriculum in Manggarai region, NTT. This research is a type of qualitative research conducted at educational institutions from elementary to high school levels in Manggarai region, NTT. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentary studies. The data analysis technique refers to the data analysis model used by B. Mathew Miles and A. Michael Huberman consisting of three activities, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. The results showed that there were several opportunities for the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in Manggarai region, NTT, namely the thematic-integrative approach, the scientific approach and authentic assessment. While the challenges are a thematic approach based on local culture, challenges in making lesson plans, challenges in implementing learning and challenges in making assessments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of school climate on improving the quality of education. The research method used is literature study. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the school climate has an effect on improving the quality of education. School climate refers to the work atmosphere felt by personnel based on their interactions when they relate to other personnel in the school environment. school climate as an intangible but important for an organization. School climate is analogous to the personality of an individual. By referring to the analogy of school climate with personality, the school climate is definitely different from one another. School climate is understood as a manifestation of school personality that can be evaluated on a continuum from open school to closed school climate. An open school climate is based on respect, trust and honesty, and provides opportunities for teachers, school management and students to get involved constructively and cooperatively with one another. Therefore the core of the school climate is how we treat each other. School climate as the quality and character of school life that reflects the norms, goals, values, interpersonal relationships, teaching and learning practices and organizational structure. Thus, there are ten dimensions of school climate measurement which are grouped into 4 categories that have an effect on improving the quality of education, namely: safety, teaching and learning, interpersonal relationships and institutional environment.
