Abstract

This study aims to describe the perception of English teachers about the use of platforms in engaging students during online learning. The participants of this study consist of junior and senior high school teachers in some schools in Madura. Their perceptions were investigated in terms of three aspects: effects of using this learning platform on their perceived motivation, the perceived usefulness, and the perceived ease of use of platforms.  The study was conducted in the descriptive method. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and self-structured online interviews. The findings indicated that the teachers perceived that google classroom as the most used LMS and WhatsApp as the most preferred social media since both are user friendly and easy to use. Furthermore, Microsoft PowerPoint or Word and YouTube are the most preferred platform since they are motivating, useful and engaging during English online learning. It was found out that the English teachers are satisfied with the features of the use of these outstanding platforms in their online learning since they provide suitable features for their materials. Moreover, it was found that some teachers choose those platforms since they are more familiar for them to use. Besides, they had been introduced, acquired knowledge and practices on how to use the platform for supporting the learning process. Consequently, it should be training for the teacher about other outstanding learning platforms to be acknowledged and employed in their teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Perlindungan terhadap profesi guru merupakan upaya melindungi guru-guru dari berbagai kekerasan, ancaman, perlakuan diskriminatif, ketidak adilan, kriminalisasi, dan perlakuan-perlakuan yang menyimpang dari siswa, orang tua dan masyarakat. Studi ini bertujuan bentuk-bentuk perlindugan bagi guru dalam melaksanakan tugasnya sebagai pendidik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Yuridis sosisologis dalam bingkai penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam dan dokumomentasi. Analisis data dilakkan dengan Langkah-langkah dengan reduksi data, pengambilan kesimpulan. Dari penelitian yang dilaksakan. Hasil penetian ini menujukkan terdapat 1) perlidungan hukum guru melalui advokasi dan sosialisasi hukum, perlindungan dari kekerasan, 2)perlindungan profesi dengan penghasilan yang layak dan kebebasan mengeluarkan pendapat, 3) perlingungan terhdap kekayaan intelektual dengan mendorong guru berkarya, namun karya-karya tersebut belum dipatenkan.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in human civilization. It is not free of some problems. One of them is students, learning interest, especially in English learning. At the same time, English one of the skills in this digital era because English becomes an alternative language in global communication. Community service through English Learning Assistance for Students by Using Method of Telling Legend of Madura at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Ulum Gunung Tangis Desa Rek-Kerrek Kecamatan Palengaan is aimed at help teacher and students solve the problems with various learning methods and media which present more exciting and enjoyable new atmosphere. From the result of assistance, it was found that students got much more interested and zealous to participate in learning proses. This community service is expected to be a model for teachers in designing more various learning activities to increase students’ motivation and interest in learning the English language.(Pendidikan yang berperan sangat penting dalam peradaban manusia tidak terlepas dari berbagai permasalahan. Salah satunya minat belajar siswa yang kurang terutama dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Sedangkan bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu keahlian bahasa yang harus dikuasai di era digital ini karena bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa alternatif dalam komunikasi global. Pengabdian masyarakat melalui Pendampingan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Bagi Murid Melalui Metode Cerita Legend of Madura di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Ulum Gunung Tangis Desa Rek-kerrek Kecamatan Palengaan bertujuan untuk membantu guru dan murid memberikan solusi atas permasalahan tersebut dengan variasi metode dan media pembelajaran yang manghadirkan suasana baru yang lebih menarik dan menyengangkan. Dari hasil pendampingan yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa siswa jauh lebih tertarik dan bersemangat dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi acuan bagi guru dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajarang yang lebih bervariasi sehingga bisa meningkatkan motivasi dan minta siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris).

Abstract

The establishment of the science study program in IAIN Madura is an attempt to integrate Islam with natural science. This study also wants to understand the views of the Madurese community about the urgency of opening the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Study Program at IAIN Madura. This research is a mixed methods research, which is a research step by combining two approaches in research, namely qualitative and quantitative. Data collection methods are interviews and documentation. At the same time, data analysis consists of data reduction, data display, and concluding. From the research that conducted, several points were made as follows: 1) The curriculum structure of the integration of Islam with the natural sciences consists of courses related to; a) institutions, b) science and expertise, c) Islamic education and education, d) study programs expertise, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, e) attitudes and ethics of life in society, f) science based on competitive advantage. 2) Learning strategies used Learning strategies that can be used in science learning are contextual, thematic, practical, collaborative active learning, discovery learning models. 3) The public's perception of the existence of the Science Study Program at IAIN Madura. Lecturers must include Islamic values in the science material at the Natural Science. Students in the science study program must apply Islamic values through attitudes and behavior in their activities. Lecturers are required to include Islamic values in the delivery of lecture material. Lecturers can provide Islamic guidance on student problems in studying at the IAIN Madura science study program. (Pendirian prodi IPA IAIN Madura adalah suatu upaya untuk mengintegrasikan Islam dengan ilmu pengetahuan alam. Penelitian ini juga ingin memahami pandangan masyarakat Madura tentang urgensi pembukaan Prodi MIPA di IAIN Madura. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mix methods, yaitu suatu langkah penelitian dengan menggabungkan dua bentuk pendekatan dalam penelitian, yaitu kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Selain itu, strategi metode campuran bertahap (sequential mixed methods) terutama strategi eksplanatoris sekuensial. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sementara analisis data terdiri dari reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan dihasilkan beberapa poin sebagai berikut: 1) Struktur kurikulum integrasi Islam dengan ilmu pengetahuan alam terdiri atas mata kuliah yang berkaitan dengan a) institusi, b) keilmuan dan keahlian, c) ilmu kependidikan dan kependidikan Islam, d) keahlian prodi yaitu Fisika, Kimia, Biologi, e) sikap dan etika kehidupan di masyarakat, f) keilmuan atas dasar keunggulan kompetitif. 2) Strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan Strategi pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA adalah kontekstual, tematik, efektif, kolaboratif pembelajaran aktif, model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery). 3)Persepsi masyarakat tentang keberadaan Prodi IPA di IAIN Madura.Masyarakat sangat mengharapkan kehadiran prodi tadris IPA di IAIN Madura, IAIN adalah Lembaga Pendidikan agama Islam yang sejak dahulu dikenal di masyarakat sebagai yang mencetak sarjana. Dosen harus memasukkan nilai-nilai Islam dalam materi IPA di Prodi Tadris IPA IAIN Madura. Mahasiswa prodi IPA wajib menerapkan nilai-nilai Islam melalui sikap dan tingkah laku dalam beraktivitas. Dosen wajib memasukkan nilai-nilai islami dalam penyampaian materi kuliah. Dosen mampu memberikan bimbingan islami terhadap permasalahan mahasiswa dalam belajar di tadris IPA IAIN Madura.)
