Abstract

Society 5.0 is a condition of society that is integrated with technology. This is closely related to the 4.0 industrial revolution which is also known as the disruption era. This reality is both a challenge and an opportunity for educators as part of society 5.0 in improving the quality of education as a vehicle for building a critical, cultured, creative, and futuristic generation. Based on these thoughts, the long-term objective of this study is to build futuristic pedagogical competencies. The specific target of this research is to find a pedagogical best practice to increase students' digital literacy in the digital era in welcoming society 5.0 in Indonesia. The research model used in this study is a mixed-methods research model. The sample of this research is students of the University of Pendidikan Indonesia in the semester I with 25 respondents. The research instrument was the test material (pretest-posttest) and semi-structured interview guidelines. From the data analyzed, that the significant value of 0.000 <0.050 (H0 is rejected). This shows that the mean pretest score is significantly smaller than the average posttest score. In line with this, the results of the interviews show that students are more careful with information obtained from the internet after treatment in learning. In other words, the application of a critical pedagogic model has an impact on improving students' digital literacy.

Abstract

Employability skills are the skills that a person must have to get a job, stay in work, and be able to achieve success in their career. This study aims to develop a model of specific employability skills framework for machine operators. The research design used is the mixed methods, a study that combines the quantitative and qualitative methods and convergent parallel strategy in the data mixing process. The research finding is 14 identified frameworks of employability skills, including (1) basic skills: communicating, listening; (2) self-quality: attendance, collaboration, responsibility, honesty, flexibility, empathy; (3) thinking skills: creativeness, problem-solving; (4) management: self-management, planning; (5) system and technology: production flow system, and mastery of job field concept. Industries demand that basic skills have to be possessed by machine operators to be and self-quality as the priority to recruited as prospective skilled workers. Thinking skills, management, and system and technology are better if developed in their future workplace.

Abstract

Education has a very close relationship to the change of values and culture, therefore in order to achieve the purity of the culture, education needs to form a strong individual person, in order to achieve a golden Indonesia by not softening existing values and cultures. Therefore, it is important to conduct this research aiming to find out the socio-cultural system of the Indonesian people in the social science learning curriculum for the junior secondary level in the province of Riau. This study uses descriptive evaluative design with mixed method type that mixed method. Purposive smpling is a sampling technique used by researchers, with several stages of data collection including: observation, interview, documentation and questionnaires. After research and results were obtained that the 2013 curriculum is better used in junior high school students compared to KTSP, by using the 2013 curriculum and a qualified strategy in the learning process can increase students' curiosity towards learning and social problems in the environment, students can understand the learning well and deeper into the value of Malay culture.

Abstract

Vocational practical learning activities are an important part, however, they do not link the practice learning activities conducted in schools with field work in the industry, yet. The implementation of the vocational students' field industrial practice (prakerin) still cause some problems and complaints from industry. Research results show that the pace of learners' work is slow, work accident's is still high, lack ofresponsibility sense, less able to maintain hygiene in food handling, as well as less neat of personal appearance. The purpose of this study attempts to develop WPL model to improve the student's catering competency skill of Tourism Culinary Vocational School. This research was done by conducting Research and Development (R D) towards the Catering Tourism Culinary Vocational School students. The process started from preliminary studies, model development and validation done by the experts. The results shows that: (1) preliminary (a) there is variation in the planning, implementation, evaluation activities in vocational industrial working practices studied, (b) The condition of infrastructure in vocational is relatively adequate, (c) the timing of the practice in the industry starts from 3-6 months. (2) WPL Model covers the planning, implementation, and evaluation. After the draft of WPL models developed and (3) the results of the validation test shows WPL that WPL model is effective for improving the students' competence of vocational catering skills. The author proposes some recommendations, namely: The Monitoring and evaluation done by knowledge ability, work attitude (employability skill), and the process of interaction in the workplace using complete learning device. This study is limited to WPL Model of Students' Catering Competency Skill of Tourism Culinary Vocational School. Other researchers who are interested in the model are recommended to develop the WPL model of vocational school cooperate with the relevan industry.
