Abstract

The improvement of technology and information create a digital era in all aspects of the economy, one example is in the banking sector. This study aims to find out and compare the financial performance of banking industry in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines in the period 2012-2017. The model used in hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA parametric test. Furthermore, using the panel regression analysis and results from coefficient of determination (R2) from the regression to see the influence of digital era on ASEAN banking financial performance. The results of the study showed that the financial performance of ASEAN-5 banks differ significantly with other ASEAN countries and the average value of Indonesian banking financial performance showed better results than the other four ASEAN countries on CAR, ROA, and NIM ratios. However, on average the LDR ratio shows that Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are better than Indonesia. There are two of five variables that have a significant effect on bank profitability, namely the implementation of digital banking and the funding variables from third parties in banks. Other variables that are not significant are completeness in information of digital banking provided by the bank, the number of internet banking users of each bank, and the amount of credit channeled by the bank. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 41%, which means the effect of using digital banking is good enough on financial performance of bank in ASEAN.JEL Classification: G21, G32 How to Cite:Malik, N., Oktavia, A., Suliswanto, M. Abstract

De Man Rogose and Sharpe (MRS) growth medium is a specific growth medium for lactic acid bacteria (LAB) but has a relatively expensive price. This can be overcome by making alternative media from waste materials. This study used Lactobacilus bulgaricus to represent LAB analyzed for growth. The research aims to formulate alternative media from the waste of cassava peels, banana peels, and tofu whey; determine the best formulation based on the growth parameters of L. bulgaricus; apply the L. bulgaricus in soygurt making and analyze the quality of the resulting yogurt. The results showed the composition of cassava peel: banana peel (75:25 w/w) with the addition of urea 1.5% as the best formu-lation. This formula yields a total LAB of 8.6x106 CFU/mL. The total LAB in the alternative medium was higher than that in MRS control at 1.7x106 CFU/mL. Soygurt produced from LAB as a result of growth from the best media [cassava peel+banana peel (75:25) with the addition of 1.5% urea] resulted in a fat content of 0.9%, total titrated acid 0.6%, protein 8.1 %, pH 4.7, viscosity 14.2 dPas, total dissolved solids 9.7°Brix, brightness (L) 64.3, and yellow-blue (b +) 10.1. These fat content, total titrated acid, and protein are in accordance with SNI for yogurt 2981: 2009.

Second, social capital owned by individuals can be a stronghold in verifying various misinformation that is so rampant amid a pandemic. Third, social capital by parents and families can be a problem-solving in overcoming physical and psychological health problems presented by the COVID-19 pandemic in the closest sphere. Finally, the fourth relates to the role of relevant stakeholders in responding to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily through various regulatory packages and efforts that can be carried out linearly in their fields. This research contributes because it shows the urgency and role of social capital in handling COVID-19. The limitation lies in the article's source, which only comes from the Scopus database, so it does not have comparative data and analysis. Abstract

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is a buffer of the national economy that it proved able to survive during the monetary crisis in Indonesia in 1997-1998. On the one hand, MSMEs have a strong resilience to the economic crisis. On the other hand, the development of MSMEs is faced with complex problems. This research departs from the complexity of the problems faced in developing Tapioca Starch business. This study aims to understand the problems faced by SMEs in developing Tapioca Flour Business in Kediri and prepare concrete steps to solve the problem. This research used descriptive qualitative method with data collection technique of interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicated that the problems faced by the Tapioca flour business in Kediri are that they have no the formation of the business in a business group, the lack of human resources skills in developing the business, the limited business capital, and the dependence of the entrepreneurs on the middlemen directly and not to the detriment of entrepreneurs. The steps proposed for such issues include the formation of business groups, strengthening cooperative networks with business groups, markets, and cassava growers, and strengthening venture capital through saving and loan systems.

Abstract

There is no more doubt about the importance of economic growth, which can be calculated fromGross Domestic Product (GDP). This research analyzes the role of globalization on GDP inASEAN-5 by estimating panel data. It uses a fixed effect approach to accommodate various characteristicsin the countries. To accommodate such variation, it assumes that the intercepts variesacross these countries, while the slopes remain similar. Based on the estimation result, it suggeststhat net export and foreign direct investment represent the globalization process. Both have positiveand significant influences on GDP in the corresponding countries. Keywords: Globalization, international trade, foreign direct investment, gross domestic productJEL classification numbers: E01, F51, F43
