Abstract

In this research, researchers focus on nonverbal communication such as eye contact, expressions, smilling, gesture, posture and gait, sitting, dress, makeup and hair styling, hand shaking, proximity, fragrance and voice and tones. All those elements as costomer guidelines in UPTSA service. Customer satisfaction is needed in every role which means applicants who apply licence in government city of Surabaya can have it on UPTSA at Siola Building Tunjungan streets 1-3, Surabaya. In addition , Excellence Service has two meanings, comprehension of service which related to product knowledge and service with related to good nonverbal communication to accomplish customer satisfaction. This research is describing how nonverbal communication can be affected in service communication in city of Surabaya licencees. Communication reference in this research is interpersonal communication with Qualitative descriptive method and case study by applying Harold Laswell’s theory. More over, the data assessed from employees and applicants interviews. Key Words : Nonverbal Communication, Service Excellence

Abstract

Marriage is one of human needs in life. In Indonesia wedding ceremony has various traditions that have been carried out from generation to generation. As found in the Ajung, Jember, East Java. The tradition carried out in the village of Ajung Wetan Jember is quite unique. They invite the neighbourhood to the wedding within food, cigarette or soap. This kind of tradition is known as tradisi tonjokan. From that uniqueness, the writer chose tradisi tonjokan as topic of this research to explore more deeply, how the villagers interpret these traditions within symbolic interaction perspective in communication studies. Authors used a qualitative as a research method . Data were collected by in-depth interview and observe the Ajung residents. The result of this research is that the villagers of Ajung Wetan Jember interpret the tradisi tonjokan as a way of inviting close relatives or neighbors using soap, cigarettes, or food. Furthermore, what is unique about this tradition from Ajung Wetan Jember is the items used to invite, side dishes of rice, cigarettes, and soap. The last, the tradisi tonjokan has another purpose besides inviting, that is a respect and gratitude for the person who is invited. Also on the other hand, tradisi tonjokan is considered as obligation to attend the wedding ceremony.

Abstract

In reformation era and digitalization era now people increasingly free to uploade anything in social media. Begal case rampant in Pasuruan of east java to make people restless, when there is a perpetrator of Begal caught by public then recorded and then uploaded and the community who became victims of telling in the social media, so now Pasuruan called is "city of begal". The key to the success of public relations is the sense of security that people received through their online communication, a sense that will change the opinion of people who think Pasuruan "city of begal". The results of this research demonstrate the role definition of Pasuruan Police Public Relationship in providing security more dominant on communications technician and the role of expert prescriber to provide the succes information of the robber cyber team to build issues and opinions positive in society, but the communication facilitator and facilitator troubleshooter persists , though not so dominant. The application of the concept of service in online media is a form of commitment to the Police in providing security to the community. The quality of Public Relation communication with the online media communities needs to be improved, given the many people are talking about issues that occur in the online media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengambil judul Studi Banding Proses Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru di Universitas Hasyim Asy'ari Tebuireng Jombang Antara Komunikasi Online dan Komunikasi Interpersonal Tahun Akademik 2019/2020. Peneliti bermaksud untuk mengetahui implementasi dan perbandingan antara teknik komunikasi online dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap layanan penerimaan siswa baru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif termasuk analisis deskriptif dengan purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian adalah pendaftar mahasiswa baru Universitas Hasyim Asyari pada tahun akademik 2019/2020 dari 1.345 pelamar untuk Angkatan I, II, III dan IV. Para peneliti mengambil 30 informan untuk melakukan wawancara. 10 informan dari pelamar melalui komunikasi online, 10 dari pelamar melalui komunikasi interpersonal dan 10 dari petugas layanan dan komite Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan pelayanan penerimaan mahasiswa baru melalui pendaftaran komunikasi online mengalami kendala (miskomunikasi) dalam melakukan pendaftaran sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk menunggu konfirmasi dari petugas pelayanan. Sedangkan penaftaran melalui komunikasi interpersonal tidak terdapat kendala , proses pendaftaran cepat dan informasi yang didapatkan lebih jelas karena bertatapmuka secara langsung dengan petugas pelayanan. Meski terdapat kendala pada pendafataran melalui online universitas Hasyim Asy’ari Tebuireng Jombang harus tetap meningkatkan sistem pelayanan Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru.
