Abstract

Abstract:This research aimed to produce comic media with guided inquiry models based on scientific literacy on circulatory system in humans for grade VIII junior high school students. It had been done in SMPN 4 Pekanbaru and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Biology in University of Riau on April of October 2019. This typeofresearch was a Reseach and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model which consists of five stages namely analyze, design, development, implement, and evaluate. This research only reached the development stage by conducting validation by validators and limited trials in stages I and II. The data obtained were analyzed statistically descriptive. The evaluation of the developed comic media includes 6 aspects, namely aspects of comic content, aspects of linguistic / communication, aspects of presentation, aspects of overall appearance, aspects of guided inquiry, and aspects of scientific literacy. The results of the average validationwith a guided inquiry model based on science literacy gained a score of 3.47 in the very valid category. The average results of the limited trial phase I get a score of 96.42% with a very good category and a limited trial phase II get a score of 94.28% with a very good category. Based on these data it can be concluded that the development of comic media with a guided inquiry model based on scientific literacy in the material of the circulatory system in humans for grade VIII junior high school students gets very valid and very good categories so that it is appropriate to be used as a source of learning and can be implemented in the learning process at school.KeyWords: Comic Media, Guided Inquiry, Scientific Literacy, the Material of Circulatory System In Human

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the science literacy of science textbooks for junior high school grade VII based on 4 dimensions, namely science as the body of knowledge, scienceas a way of thinking, science as a way of investigation and science and its interaction with technology and society and describe scientific literacy in practice questions the repetition on the seventh grade science book of SMP based on the 2015 PISA framework is competency and knowledge aspects. This research uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. The subject of this research is the science textbook class VII published by Erlangga Curriculum 2013. The research data obtained from the results of scientific literacy analysis of books using scientific literacy level analysis instruments based on 4 dimensions of scientific literacy and scientific literacy about repetition exercises using scientific literacy analysis sheet instruments based on 2 aspects of the PISA 2015 framework. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical methods. The results of data analysis showed that scientific literacy in the category of science as an investigation has the highest percentage with a score of 45.48%. The results of the scientific literacy analysis data in the multiple choice test questions show that the aspect of knowledge has a higher percentage than the competency aspect of 86.44% with very good criteria. Whereas the results of the retrial essay practice questions have a higher percentage of 61% with good criteria.KeyWords: Science Literacy, PISA 2015 Framework, Natural Science textbooks for Junior High School, Test questions on tests

Abstract

The aim of this study was to get profile of visual thinking of prospective teachers of mathematics in understanding formal definitions of convergent sequences based on gender differences. This study focused more on the process than the results. The results of the study are presented in the form of descriptions based on empirical data. Therefore, it used descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach. To get the depth of the data, it selected one male subject and one female subject. Method of task-based interviews with semi-structured format was used to collect the data. The time triangulation is used to validate the data. Reduction, categorization, synthesis, and inferences are used to analyze the data. The results showed that: 1) The male student does four stages or activities to understand the formal definition of convergent sequences, that is: to recognize, to imagine, to show, and to conclude. The activity to show can be categorized into two sub-activities; namely: to show a picture of convergent sequences and to show a picture attribute of the definition. The sequence of activities to understand was carried out by the male student in not a linear fashion. Profile of visual thinking of male prospective teacher of mathematics in understanding formal definitions of convergent sequences is obtained from on the information processing activities that involve mental imagery. Mental imagery processing is done through three stages, namely: to construct mental imagery, to processing mental imagery, and to utilize mental imagery. The stages of processing mental imagery can be categorized into two sub-stages; namely: to determine mental imagery and to refine mental imagery. 2) The female student does four stages or activities to understand the formal definition of convergent sequences, namely: to recognize, to imagine, to show, and to conclude. The activity to show can be categorized into two sub-activities; namely: to show a picture of convergent sequence and to show a picture attribute of the definition. To understand the sequence of activities was performed by female student in a linear fashion. Profile of visual thinking of female prospective teacher of mathematics in understanding formal definitions of convergent sequences is obtained from the information processing activities that involve mental imagery. Mental imagery processing is done through three stages namely: to construct mental imagery, to processing mental imagery, and to utilize mental imagery. The stages of processing mental imagery can be categorized into two sub-stages; namely: to determine mental imagery and to refine mental imagery. 3) Regardless of the differences in the representation and processing sequence as well as the activities and the use of mental imagery, there are similarities in the understanding of the formal definition of convergent sequences. To understand the formal definition of convergent sequences, students do four phases of activities, namely: to recognize, to imagine, to show, and to conclude. The activity to show can be categorized into two sub-activities; namely: to show a picture of convergent sequences and to show a picture attribute of the definition. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan pemahaman dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan penerapan sifat-sifat eksponen dan logaritma pada siswa SMA ditinjau dari kemampuan awal, yang meliputi memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaia masalah, melaksanakan penyelesaian masalah, dan memeriksa kembali. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah enam siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Kawedanan yaitu dua siswa dengan kemampuan awal tinggi, dua siswa dengan kemampuan awal sedang dan dua siswa dengan kemampuan awal rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes dan wawancara. Teknik keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi metode. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data atau penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan profil kemampuan pemahaman siswa dengan kemampuan awal tinggi : memiliki kemampuan pemahaman dalam proses pemahaman menafsirkan, mencontohkan, mengklasifikasikan, merangkum, menyimpulkan, dan menjelaskan dengan baik namun hanya mampu menggunakan proses pemahaman membandingkan dengan cukup. Siswa dengan kemampuan awal sedang : memiliki kemampuan pemahaman dalam proses pemahaman menafsirkan, mengklasifikasikan dan merangkum dengan baik namun dalam kemampuan menggunakan proses pemahaman mencontohkan, menyimpulkan, membandingkan dan menjelaskan dengan cukup. Siswa dengan kemampuan awal sedang : memiliki kemampuan pemahaman dalam proses pemahaman menafsirkan, mengklasifikasikan dan merangkum dengan baik namun kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan proses pemahaman mencontohkan, menyimpulkan, membandingkan dan menjelaskan adalah kurang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteritik mahasiswa dan materi analisis real. Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah model pembelajaran analisis real berbasis teori-teori David Tall. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FP MIPA IKIP PGRI Madiun dalam belajar analisis real. Hampir semua mahasiswa kesulitan dalam belajar analisis real sehingga muncul tuntutan untuk menyediakan model pembelajaran beserta perangkatnya yang mampu melayani mahasiswa belajar. Model pembelajaran diartikan sebagai suatu kerangka konseptual pembelajaran yang memuat tujuan, sintaksis sistem sosial, prinsip reaksi, sistem pendukung, dampak instruksional dan dampak pengiring pembelajaran. Model ini memuat landasan teoritis, komponen, dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model dan perangkatnya. Perangkat model terdiri dari Buku Siswa, LKS, LJLKS, RP, Paket Kuis, Paket Tes Penguasaan Bahan pembelajaran, dan paket tes tingkat berpikir mahasiswa. Untuk mencapai maksud tersebut perlu dilakukan penelitian pengembangan dengan mengikuti fase-fase pengembangan seperti investigasi awal, desain, realisasi/konstruksi, dan tes, evaluasi, dan revisi. Kegiatan pada fase tes, evaluasi, dan revisi meliputi validasi, uji coba, dan revisi. Kegiatan uji coba meliputi uji coba perorangan dan uji lapangan. Fokus kajian uji coba adalah pada kualitas kesahihan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan model pembelajaran beserta perangkatnya.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1) to identity the significance of PowerPoint presentation utilization on the mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school, 2) to depict the significance of the students’ learning styles on mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school, and 3) to identity the presence of interaction between the students’ learning styles and the utilization of PowerPoint presentation on the mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school. Pilot instructional design is the PowerPoint – utilizing one, while the control design is the conventional one. Learning styles includes: visual, auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles. The population of this research is students of elementary schools in Madiun Municipality. The results of the research are: 1) the PowerPoint utilization in math class can significantly increase the students’ achievement, 2) the students’ learning styles significantly influence the students’ achievement.            The visual learning styles are stronger than auditorial and kinesthetic which similar, and 3) there is interaction between conventional and attested students’ learning styles. Under conventional learning strategy, students’ learning styles do not influence the student achievement. Under the pilot learning strategy by utilizing PowerPoint presentation, the students’ learning styles influence the students’ achievement. Kinesthetic and auidtorial learning styles similarly influence the students’ achievement, but visual learning style results in a better students’ achievement. The utilization of the PowerPoint presentation program does not significantly influence the achievement of the students with visual and kinesthetic learning styles, but it significantly influences the achievement of the students with auditorial learning style.Key words       :   The Mathematics Achievement of The Students of Elementary School, Powerpoint Class Presentation, and The Basis of The Students’ Learning Styles

Abstract

Bawang putih digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional terhadap penyakit akut dan kronis selama lebih dari 1.000 tahun. Penelitian pada binatang menunjukkan bawang putih dapat menurunkan tekanan darah, tetapi penelitian pada manusia menunjukkan hasil yang bervariasi. Bawang putih lebih superior daripada plasebo dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada individu dengan hipertensi. Bawang putih bisa digunakan dalam klinis pada pasien dengan hipertensi ringan. Bawang putih dapat digunakan sebagai bagian dari diet sebagai salah satu strategi tatalaksana hipertensi. Disusunlah artikel yang membahas mengenai peranan bawang putih terhadap hipertensi

Abstract

Optimization of extraction parameter of oleoresin from nutmeg waste has been developed.The waste could be alternative raw material of oleoresin to replace fresh nutmeg whose price is costly. Sofar, nutmeg waste from volatile oil factory is not utilized maximally. Its utilization as product that hasadditional value could be carried out by extraction method of nutmeg oleoresin. The research aims tooptimize oleoresin extraction condition (temperature, solvent amount, and particle size) from nutmegwaste by using Response Surface Methodology. The condition is designed randomly by Box-Behnkenmethod to result in 17 experiment. The effect of extraction condition toward yield and index of refractionis determined through calculation and analysis by using refractometer, respectively. The highest value ofindex of refraction in the research is 1.4852. The optimum condition to result in the highest yield14.5525% is at temperature of 40oC, solvent amount of 200 ml, and particle size of -20+30 mesh.Optimization by using the method indicates that optimum parameter is obtained at temperature of35.86oC, solvent amount of 167.13 ml, and particle size of 10 mesh. The research result is expected toprovide information on operational effectivity in the perspective of production cost that could be utilizedby production center of nutmeg oleoresin.

Abstract

Abstract. This descriptive research was conducted at Rantau Kopar village, Rokan Hilir District from January to June 2017. The reason for this study is due to the drastic declining of biodiversity of fish species at Rangau river despite the existence the local wisdom to protect the watershed in the area. It is aimed to discover the perspectives local wisdom in preventing the decreasing of fish biodiversity at Rangau river. The employed sampling technique was snowball technic sampling which involved 30 respondents. The primary data were obtained using observation and interview; the secondary data (documents). Data consist of community composition, livelihood, community participation in preserving the local wisdom, the synergy between the local wisdom and the policies of the local administration. The data were computed in percentage and were analyzed descriptively. The findings demonstrated that the local wisdom was compiled by the local community whose livelihood as fishermen. Conversely, in 2017, the local people did not comply with both sanction and the local customary law, there had been careless exploitation of the water across the watershed to be oil palm plantation area and the increasing number of oil palm farmers. This study concludes that the main threat facing the local wisdom is that the policies of local administration are not synergic with the local wisdom as stipulated in the regulations and conservation of the area across the watershed of Rangau. The implication of this study is used for the supplementary materials for the bioetnomalay subject in the Indonesian education
