Abstract

Literasi lingkungan merupakan bentuk kesadaran masyarakat akan peduli terhadap lingkungan. Hal ini tidak hanya mendiskusikan mengenai isu lingkungan, tetapi juga menetapkan kerangka sebuah literasi lingkungan. Literasi lingkungan dibagi ke dalam beberapa bagian yakni pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan etika. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam pendekatan kualitatif. Tempat penelitian berada di daerah Sempu Banyuwangi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi atau kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan tingkat pemahaman literasi lingkungan masyarakat Sempu sudah cukup paik mengenai kesadaran akan lingkungan sekitar, pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku. Peran mahasiswa dalam hal tersebut bertindak sebagai pendamping dan motivator dalam usaha peningkatan literasi lingkungan dengan kegiatan pelatihan. Selain itu masih menunjukkan diperlukan peran pendamping dalam memberikan literasi lingkungan kepada masyaraka Sempu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran tentang lingkungan.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the role of the Pinggir Sawah Literacy House in the Sempu Banyuwangi area in terms of forming environmental awareness. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The technique used was in-depth interviews by digging up information from data sources from the Pinggir Sawah administrators and the community who came to the place. The research results illustrate that the role of the Pinggir Sawah literacy house is able to raise awareness of love for the environment. Some activities include utilizing waste, planting plants using organic media. The role of the Pinggir Sawah literacy house is to try to create environmental awareness by reducing waste and utilizing it to create a clean and healthy environment. Activities carried out include outreach and training in waste utilization skills

Abstract

Environmental literacy is a form of public awareness of caring for the environment. This not only discusses environmental issues, but also sets the framework for environmental literacy. Environmental literacy is divided into several parts, namely knowledge, awareness, and ethics. This research is included in a qualitative approach. The research location is in the Sempu Banyuwangi area. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses the theory of Miles and Huberman namely reduction, presentation, and verification or conclusion. The results of the study as a whole the level of understanding of the environmental literacy of the Sempu community is quite good regarding awareness of the surrounding environment, knowledge, attitudes and behavior. The role of students in this case acts as a companion and motivator in efforts to increase environmental literacy with training activities. Apart from that, it still shows the need for a companion role in providing environmental literacy to the Sempu community to increase knowledge and awareness about the environment
