Abstract

Both male and female students tend to experience anxiety when learning mathematics. Mathematical anxiety can be overcome by each student depending on the student's self-efficacy. The level of mathematical anxiety and the ability of self-efficacy are assumed to have different tendencies when viewed from a gender perspective. So, this study aims to analyze mathematical anxiety and self-efficacy based on gender differences. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with comparative causal research design. The population in this study were students of Junior High School, with Cluster Sampling techniques obtained by 38 students as the research sample. The instrument used was a questionnaire. with data analysis techniques using independent sample t-test. Based on the results of the study, it has a small tendency towards mathematical anxiety between male and female students. where female students are more anxious when compared to male students. Whereas in student self-efficacy there is no difference between male and female students.

Abstract

Learning in school is a process which is complex and comprehensive. The existence of the learning process may make changes in the student, either intellectually or spiritual. The changes that occur are not only intellectually influenced by intelligence, but may also be with emotional intelligence and the ability to self regulated learning in learning. Associated with the condition, then the purpose of the research was to analyze the influence of the self regulated learning and emotional intelligence against the achievements of learning math students. This research was quantitative research with causal comparative method (ex post facto). The population in this research was all tenth-grade students at SMA 1 Susukan Cirebon. Based on Cluster sampling technique, we have chosen 36 students. Research instrument used was the assessment of self regulated learning, emotional intelligence of students, andthe learning of mathematics achievement test. As for the results of the research there was a positive influence between the self regulated learning againts achievement of learning math 0.819 or 81,9%, there was a positive influence between the emotional intelligence against the learning achievements of 0.742 or 74,2%, and there was a positive relationship between self regulated learning and emotional intelligence of students namely of 76.5%, meaning between both influence each otherwith regression equation was           . The condition indicates that there was simultaneously influence among self regulated learning and emotional intelligence against the achievements of students learning math of 46,79%, and the rest was enough criteria 53.21% determined other factors.Learning in school is a process which is complex and comprehensive. Abstract

The phenomenon of procrastination behavior in problem-solving and mathematical digital literacy still occurs among students. This study aimed to analyze the profile of students' academic procrastination behavior in problem-solving and mathematical digital literacy-purposive sampling technique involving 19 students of one junior high school in Indonesia. Academic procrastination behavior is obtained through qualitative research with a case study approach using the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) instrument, digital literacy scale, mathematical problem-solving ability tests, and semi-structured interviews as well as data analysis with four steps of research, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Most of the students (84.2%) experienced academic procrastination in solving mathematical problems and mathematical digital literacy (21%). There are six kinds of problem-solving and mathematical digital literacy student profiles in the high, moderate, and low category.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan penilaian self efficacy dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan perspektif gender. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain kausal komparatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan subyek penelitian ini adalah kelas X IPA/MIA MAN 3 Cirebon dengan jumlah sampel 60 siswa dengan kategori gender yaitu siswa laki-laki sebanyak 30 siswa dan siswa perempuan sebanyak 30 siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah angket untuk mengukur self efficacy siswa dan tes untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa angket self efficacy siswa dengan rata-rata sebesar 70,66 atau 71% dengan kategori baik dan kuat. Siswa laki-laki memperoleh nilai rata-rata 68,04 dengan persentase 67% dan siswa perempuan memperoleh nilai rata-rata 73,46 dengan persentase 73%. Terdapat perbedaan self efficacy siswa berdasarkan nilai rata-rata dengan nilai signifikan 0,023 < 0,05. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa MAN 3 Cirebon mempunyai rata-rata sebesar 61,30 dalam kategori sedang. Siswa laki-laki memperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dengan rata-rata 55,60 sedangkan siswa perempuan memperoleh rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika 67,00. Oleh karena itu perbedaan dari rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa dengan nilai signifikan 0,001 < 0,005. Hal ini dapat dikatakan adanya perbedaan  penilaian self efficacy dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan perspektif gender yang signifikan (nyata).Abstract:This study intended to determine whether there were differences in self-efficacy and the ability in solving mathematical problems based on a gender perspective. This research was a quantitative study using a comparative causal design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the subjects of this study were class X IPA/MIA MAN 3 Cirebon with a sample of 60 students with gender categories namely 30 male students and 30 female students. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire to measure students' self-efficacy and tests to measure mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results of this study indicated that the self-efficacy questionnaire of students with an average of 70.66 or 71% in the category of good or strong. Male students obtained an average score of 68.04 with a percentage of 67% and female students obtained an average score of 73.46 with a percentage of 73%. There were differences in self-efficacy of students based on the average value with a significant value of 0.023 <0.05. Mathematical problem-solving abilities of students MAN 3 Cirebon has an average of 61.30 in the medium category. Male students obtain mathematical problem-solving abilities with an average of 55.60 while female students obtain an average mathematical problem-solving ability of 67.00. there are differences from the average obtained by students and with a significant value of 0.001 <0.005. It can be said that there is a difference in self-efficacy and the ability to solve mathematical problems based on a significant gender perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of logic smart on students' mathematical dispositions. The method is quantitative with ex post facto approach — the population of class XI MIPA MAN 2 Cirebon and three samples taken by random sampling. Data collection uses logic smart tests and questionnaires was then analyzed using a simple regression test. Analysis and interpretation of data show that logic smart of students at coherent level with the average value is 65.93 and 57%, mathematical disposition of students is at a high level with a percentage of the average indicator value is 70%, and there is a significant influence between logic smart with the mathematical disposition of 63.2% and a significance value of 0.00<0.05. So, the teacher should improve the logic of smart students through logical thinking, as well as counting ability accompanied by observations to solve mathematical problems because it has implications for the ability of students' mathematical dispositions.

Abstract

The research is proposed by the underestimate of the student activeness and the student's achievement. The purposes of the research were to evaluate the influence of the student readiness to the student activeness, the influence of the student readiness to the student achievement, and the influence of the student activeness to the student achievement in the first class of Junior High School 2 Cibingbin, Kuningan, West Java. Its influence uses the correlation descriptive method. The population is 127 students of the first class of Junior High School 2 Cibingbin, Kuningan, West Java and the sample is 96 students. The results of the study showed that the description of the student readiness learning was at high category 69.35%. The description of the student activeness was also at high category 85.47%. In addition, the description of the student achievement was categorized as high grade (84.35%). There was a positive influence of students readiness to the student's activeness and achievement, and there was the positive influence of the student's activeness to the student's achievement.

Abstract

Konsep lingkaran adalah konsep dasar yang harus dipahami lebih lanjut untuk memahami mengenai konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Sehingga alur konsep ini dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan spasial  pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui penguasaan konsep pada materi lingkaran pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kota Cirebon; (2) Mengetahui kemampuan spasial yang dimiliki oleh siswa; (3) Mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penguasaan konsep lingkaran terhadap kemampuan spasial siswa pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Kota Cirebon dengan keseluruhan populasi sebanyak 359 sisswa dari kelas VIII. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan metode cluster random sampling, yang terpilih adalah kelas VIII D sebanyak 38 siswa sebagai sampel dari penelitian.  Berdasarkan analisis data, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep lingkaran adalah 70,34 dan rata-rata siswa kategori tinggi 72,34 yang termasuk tinggi. Hasil dari persamaan regresi dalam memprediksi kemampuan spasial berdasarkan penguasaan konsep lingkaran adalah mengindikasikan pengaruh yang positif. Setelah menguji hipotesis dengan , analisis menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh penguasaan konsep lingkaran terhadap kemampuam spasial siswa pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung dengan kontribusi 42%, 58% ditentukan oleh faktor-faktor lainnya.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.22342/jpm.10.1.3266.15-25

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching gives a positive effect on the creative character of students, to know the response of the students against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching, and to find out if the student response against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching correlates positively with the creative character of students in learning mathematics. The research method used that is quantitative. The instruments used, namely the now student response related application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching, and sheets of observation about the creativity of students in learning mathematics after implementing this method. The correlation analysis with the results of the study showed that the value of the larger significance of the alpha values (5%) which means accepting and rejecting H0 Ha which means student response against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching not correlated positively with the creative character of students in learning mathematics. The average student response score against this method is found on very good i.e. amounted to 85%. As for the observations of the creative character of the students, after this method is applied, the average score of 68% is found quite creative

Abstract

Many students who are less interested in math. Therefore, innovation becomes important so that math learning can be attractively packaged. One of innovation is a development of teaching materials to create teaching materials in the form of the leaflet. The purpose of this study is to develop leaflet teaching materials on the subjects of cube and beam based on student’s cognitive abilities referred Bruner’s theory. Bruner's cognitive stage of the theory that there are three stages enaktif, iconic and symbolic.  A research method that used by researcher is research method and development. The model used is the design development according to Sugiyono, consists of problem identification, data collection, preparation of teaching materials, design validation, design revisions, product testing, product revision, utility testing. Abstract

This study aims to examine the anxiety and study habits of mathematics on students' critical thinking skills. This research approach is a quantitative approach to the type of ex post facto research. The population in this study were students of MA Tarbiyatul Muta’alimin Kabupaten Cirebon. The sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling. As for the research sample of 40 students. Data collection techniques used were closed questionnaires and mathematical tests. The data analysis technique uses inferential statistical techniques consisting of normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test and hypothesis testing using linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, mathematical anxiety shows a moderate criterion of 60%, an average of 44.3 and a standard deviation of 8.05; mathematics learning habits show moderate criteria at 45%, an average of 92.9, and a standard deviation of 140.96; Critical thinking skills of students showed moderate criteria at 55%, an average of 5.45, and a standard deviation of 1.218. In addition, the results of data analysis show that there is an influence of anxiety and study habits of mathematics together on students' critical thinking skills. The amount of influence that is equal to 15.60% with the contribution of the influence of mathematics anxiety of 13.20% and learning habits of mathematics by 5.90%. Then the multiple linear regression equation, i.e.  = 16,998 – 0,042.X1 – 0,014.X2.
