Abstract

The drop out rate of contraceptive use in Indonesia until 2016 still high at 25.7% of the government's target of 24%, this the optimization of the performance of health personnel should be improved, especially regarding health personnel knowledge about the use of oral and contraceptives which is the largest user in the city of Bandung. One of the efforts to improve the quality of family planning programs, through increasing the competence of health workers called Interprofessional Education (IPE). The purpose of this study was to identify the level of knowledge of health personnel at the health center regarding oral and injection contraceptives between professions with IPE in Bandung. This research used an experimental method with the type of group pre-posttest design. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank test from a questionnaire on health personnel's knowledge about oral and injection contraceptives on IPE before, and after Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results showed there was an increase in the level of knowledge in 152 health personnel, a decrease in the level of knowledge in 5 health personnel, and no change in the four health personnel. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) through Interprofessional Education (IPE) was proven to significantly increase knowledge about oral contraceptives and injections on health personnel at the Health Center.

Abstract

Piroxicam solubility in water is very small this cause problem in the process of absorption so that it?s required an optimal formula to establish the physical properties of tablet quality for piroxicam tablets. The purpose of this research was creating formulas with the optimal combination of excipients lactose, Avicel pH 101, and piroxicam amprotab to obtain tablets with good physical properties and disolution. Seven piroxicam tablet formulas were made with a combination of lactose, avicel PH-101, and Amprotab on 2 batches. Method for making tablets piroxicam was established by direct compression. Tests included were the physical properties of piroxicam tablets tablets weight uniformity, uniformity of size, hardness, brittleness, disintegration test, as well as dissolution test, and content uniformity. Based on the simplex lattice design method, lactose is a dominant factor to improved the uniformity of tablet?s concentartions. Interaction of two components avicel PH-101 and amprotab is a dominant factor to reduced vulnerability. Interaction of three components lactose, avicel PH-101 and amprotab is a dominant factor to lowered the value coefisien variation of weight uniformity, increased hardness, decreased the disintegration, and improved dissolution of tablets. Selection of the optimum formula was determined by the method of simplex lattice design through diagrams superimposed contour plots and contour plots for obtaining the optimal proportions of each ingredient as follows: lactose (85,154?100%), avicel PH-101 (0?12,437%), and amprotab (0?5,425%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity by using a combination of extracts, namely kencur rhizome (Kaempferiae galanga L.) and tapak dara leaf (Catharanthus roseus). This research method was carried out experimentally, the data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variant) method with sig = 0.05 to determine the significant difference between the control group, test group. If F count > F table means that there is a significant difference, then it is continued with a further test, namely the Tukey HSD test. All data were calculated using the Windows SPSS program. The results of this study showed that the percentage of inhibition of the combination of kencur rhizome extract and tapak dara leaf was greater than that of the single administration. It can be seen that the highest percentage of inhibition of the extract combination was found at the 60th and 120th minutes with values of 63.63% and 63.63%, respectively followed by kencur rhizome at the same minute with values of 59.09% and 59.09% and finally tapak dara leaves at 58.44% and 58.44%, respectively. Based on the results of the SPSS test with the Tukey test, there was no significant difference between the positive control group and all treatment groups, which means that the use of a combination or single extract has anti-inflammatory activity from both extracts. Significantly different results were seen when compared to the negative control which was only given Na-CMC

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is public health problem common in developing countries. Basic health research in 2013, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 26.5% with the largest proportion in Central Java (57.89%). Outpatient of hypertension is tend to require two or more drugs (polypharmacy), combination antihypertension drugs or non antihypertension drugs when accompanied by coexisting illness. Polypharmacy can significantly increase the risk of drug interactions and its an important factor in drug related problems that may affect patient outcome therapy. This study aims to determine the potential drug interactions in a patient's prescription in Karya Sehat Pharmacy Purwokerto. The method of this study was retrospective observational (March-May 2018). Data were analyzed descriptively using Stockley's Drug Interaction, Drug Interaction Facts, www.drugs.com database and Medscape Drug Interactions Checker. The results obtained by looking at the name of the drug listed in the prescription without considering the rules of use, drug dosage and the patient condition was showed potential drug interactions in Karya Sehat Pharmacy Purwokerto was 68.35% (n = 158 samples). The most mechanism pattern is pharmacodinamic interaction (58,89%) and the most severity is moderate (65,74%). Keywords: hypertension, polypharmacy, pharmacy, potential drug interactions

Abstract

ABSTRACT The WHO survey results show that the number of DM patients in Indonesia is ranked the 4th largest in the world. DM causes death by 5% every year. Deaths from DM are expected to increase by 50% in the next ten years. The results of the 2007 Central Java RISKESDAS showed that the prevalence of DM in Central Java province was 0.8% and overall was 1.3%. The highest prevalence is found in Cilacap Regency (3.9%), second place is Tegal City Regency (3.1%), for the third place is Surakarta (2.8%), fourth place is Pemalang (2.1%), and fifth place is occupied by Banyumas (1.9%) (Ministry of Health, 2009). This study used an experimental design by treating the group of cases. The research instruments in this study were interview guides about the number of remaining antidiabetic drugs to check the compliance and MMAS questionnaires that had been validated and translated into Indonesian versions (Setyaningsih, 2013). The results of the data analysis using the Chi-Square test were obtained p = 0.220 (p> 0.05) based on the MMAS questionnaire, this indicates that the administration of drug information had no effect on the level of adherence to antidiabetic use in DM patients at Ketapang Sokaraja Kulon. Abstract

The success of DM therapy with antidiabetic drug monotherapy is about 25-50% effectiveness, therefore combination therapy is needed. Inhibitor sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) is a new anti-diabetic drug intended for personal therapy of patients with type 2 diabetes. SGLT2 inhibitors work by inhibiting glucose reabsorption in the proximal tubule so that glucose will be excreted with urine. SGLT-2 besides being used as monotherapy can also be combined with other DM drugs.  This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of dapagliflozin monotherapy compared to metformin, saxagliptin and glimepiride in alloxan-induced Balb-c strain mice. This research was conducted experimentally on alloxan-induced hyperglycemic mice and the treatment was given for 7 days. The treatment groups were: I. normal, II. alloxan, III. dapagliflozin (D) and the dapagliflozin combination group with: IV. Metformin (DM), V. saxagliptin (DS), VI. Glimepiride (DG), VII. saxagliptin + metformin (DSM). Analysis of the decrease in blood sugar compared between groups on the 7th day after administration. The analysis was carried out using ANOVA test with a 95% confidence level. The results of this study indicate that all treatments with antidiabetic drugs alone or in combination given for 7 days can control blood sugar levels to 120 mg/dL. The combination of dapaglyfozine (DM, DS, DSM) showed a significant difference with groups D and DG (p0.05). The combination of dapagliflozin with Metformin, Saxagliptin and Meformin+Sazagliptin showed a good effectiveness in lowering blood sugar levels compared to other combinations and alone.
