Abstract

The purpose of this study is to enhance the activity and learning achievement with cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) in class VII MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Muntilan can increase the academic year 2013/2014.The hypothesis of this study is the action in cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) may enhance the activity and learning achievement in class VII MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Muntilan academic year2013/2014. This research is a class action (PTK). Data collection techniques in this study conducted by observation, testing and documentation. The average percentage of students' learning activeness of 45.31% in the first cycle increased to 72.92% in the second cycle. Mathematics learning achievement of students has also increased, judging from the average value of59.78inprecycles to67.10at the end of the first cycle, and increased again at the end of the second cycleinto76.91. While the percentage of completeness of students (with KKM70) also increased, namely the pre-action amounted to34.38% increase to46.88% in the first cycle, and increased to81.25% in the second cycle. Given NHT cooperative learning can enhance the activity and learning achievement of students, thus advisable for math teachers can apply Numbered Head Together (NHT).

Abstract

The objective of the research is to evaluate the implementation of the Integrated Teachers Profession Practice (PPKT) in the Faculty of Sciences and Teachers Training, State Islamic Univeristy (FITK UIN Jakarta). The research was conducted at the faculty and in several schools. The research was conducted from February to August in the academic year 2008/2009. The evaluation design used in this research was Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM) with a descriptive analysis. Source of data obtained from: 1) dean FITK, 2) the program manager, 3) supervisor, 4) principals and teachers tutors, 5) students because they can provide the required data in this study than is supported by the records / documents. Based on results above, it can be concluded that the conducting of PPKT program is ‘good enough’. Based on the conclusion, it can be addressed suggestion that PPKT program can be continued while paying more attention on several aspects of improvements.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the use of earthworm meal (TCT) L. rubellus as anti pullorum agent in poultry feed additive (IP). The antibacterial activity of TCT against Salmonella pullorum was examined using diffusion agar method at each of the following concentrations: 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% (w/v) in 100 µL DMSO. In vivo test was conducted using 80 broiler chicken and were infected by S. pullorum with treatments of: IP0: IP contained 0% TCT, IP1: IP contained 25% TCT, IP2: IP contained 50% TCT, IP3: IP contained 75% TCT and IP4: IP contained 100% TCT. Each treatment was replicated 4 times with 4 chicks each. Feed additive was periodically fed to broiler during 7 days before and 10 days after infection. Anti-pullorum activities were evaluated using serology test, isolation and biochemical identification of S. pullorum. The results showed that 75% TCT was optimum to inhibit S. pullorum in vitro. The isolation and identification of S. pullorum results showed that 0 out of 8 (0%) broilers treated with IP4 was not infected by S. pullorum whereas 1 out of 2 (50%) broilers treated with IP0 were infected by S. pullorum. The reduction of S. pullorum prevalence as followed by increasing TCT in feed additive. In conclusion, TCT as poultry feed additive could inhibit S. pullorum infection. Abstract

This research was conducted to enhance the bacterial growth inhibition of E. coli by using earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) meal (TCT) which was added with chitosan and its effect on the retained protein in broilers. Inhibition of E. coli growth was tested using dilution method on the nutrient broth by additional 2% TCT combined with 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5% chitosan. Retained protein was measured using broiler fed diet containing 2% TCT (w/w) and added by chitosan 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.50% of TCT (w/w). The numbers of 15 broilers Cobb strain 35 days old were arranged on Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Results showed inhibition of E. coli was increased using TCT mixed chitosan. The highest inhibition to E. coli growth obtained from TCT + 0.5% chitosan. Retained protein tended to increase up to 1% (w/w) chitosan. Otherwise, chitosan level more than 1% could reduce protein retention. It is concluded that use of 1% chitosan increased TCT capability to inhibit E. coli and protein retention in the broilers. Abstract

The result of science literacy in Indonesian students has been satisfactorily yet. The government has introduced some new learning strategies. The research is aimed to finding some learning strategies can improved literacy science.  The research was conducted in Indonesian school involving 213 participants who are divided into study groups using several learning strategies. Research involved all student on 10 th grade in that school. Improvement of science literacy was analyzed by N-gain and  comparing some strategies of learning was analyzed by Anova followed Turkey. The results shows the impovement of science literacy in the learning by using scientific approach was not as good as inquiry approach, Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI), and Science Technology Education Matematics (STEM).  The results of science literacy finding the improvement in science literacy of students who learn by using scientific approach comparing using scientific approach is similar to the one using Science Technology Scociety (STS) strategy.

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate physical and chemical properties of organic mineral additive incorporated by Saccharomyces cerevisiae which was cultivated on different growth media consisted of cassava flour and rice bran, respectively. Treatment was arranged on completely randomized design consisted of rice bran without inoculants (RBo), rice bran with inoculants (RBi), cassava flour without inoculants (CFo), cassava flour with inoculants (CFi). Substrates were fortified by microminerals contained of Cu (100 ppm), Mn (100 ppm), Zn (100 ppm), I (10 ppm), Fe (2.5 ppm) and Co (2 ppm). Inoculation of S. cerevisiae could reduce fungal contamination. Physical characteristic of cassava flour was better in flavour and texture than rice bran in which tends to rancidity. Nutrients composition was similar in cassava and rice bran however crude fibre content in rice bran tends to be higher after fermentation. Mineral content (Zn and Fe) relatively decreased and in substrate supplemented by inoculant and rice bran had higher than cassava. In summary, micromineral was incorporated in cassava flour with inoculated S. cerevisiae had better than rice bran. Keywords: Organic mineral, cassava flour meal, S. cerevisiae, rice bran, ruminant.

Abstract

The current community service seminar aimed to increase public insight regarding the use of information technology as a medium that expedites and facilitates educational, health, economic, business, socio-cultural and political activities. This activity for community service used lecture, discussion or question and answer methods. Then, the method for the problem-solving framework consisted of: 1) the preparation stage, 2) the discussion stage for community service material, and 3) the evaluation stage, as well as seminars related to community participation in dealing with advances in information in the digitalization era. This seminar activity involved elements of the local government which included the Kemtuk Gresi District/Sub-District Head, village heads in the Kemtuk Gresi District, the Kemtuk Gresi Customary Council and youth elements (KNPI of Kemtuk Gresi District) of Jayapura Regency, especially the millennial generation, community elements such as religious leaders , educational leaders, and traditional leaders. Based on the research results, 34 community members (97.14%) stated that science and technology (S&T) is beneficial in the globalization era for people's lives, but 1 community member stated that science and technology (S&T) does not necessarily bring benefits to life. Thus, it was concluded that most members of the community who attended the community service seminar on community participation in dealing with advances in information technology (digitalization era) understand and comprehend the positive and negative influences of science and technology for life and young people in the era of globalization. Meanwhile, a small number of people make use of science and technology in their daily lives both to support student learning activities, social activities and facilitate economics and business.
