Abstract

Student can master the materials by doing the problems repeatedly. A media enables students work on varied random problems is necessary. This study aimed to provide valid, practical, and effective learning media. This research was a development research, involving 64 junior high school students in Yogyakarta. The instruments used in this study were expert validation sheets, questionnaires, and tests. The data was analyzed using a quantitative descriptive statistical analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data from students' tests. Meanwhile, descriptive qualitative was to describe the data of suggestions and comments from the validators for improvement. The results of expert validation for the media aspect achieved a very feasible category, while the material aspect also reached a very feasible category. Besides, the questionnaire results on student responses to learning media were also classified as a very practical category. The students' scores met the minimum criteria of mastery learning, meaning that the learning media achieved a very effective criterion. The results of this study imply that learning media can be used as an alternative in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Usia anak adalah usia emas untuk mengembangkan potensi kecerdasan majemuk yang dimiliki. Akan tetapi, selama ini kegiatan pendidikan sering direduksi sebagai kegiatan pengajaran dan persekolahan yang terpusat pada transfer pengetahuan secara statis dan terkadang lupa untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan non akademik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelatihan guru Aisyiyah kabupaten Banyuwangi dalam mengembangkan potensi kecerdasan majemuk anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan berupa ceramah dialogis, latihan (simulasi), dan pendampingan. Dari 38 sasaran, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 49.74% puas, 48.70% sangat puas, dan hanya 1.56% tidak puas terhadap isi, metode, maupun fasilitas yang disediakan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa isi materi sesuai dan dapat menambah pengetahuan guru untuk diaplikasikan di lingkungan kerjanya. Guru juga merasa mendapat pengalaman baru karena belum pernah mengikuti pelatihan serupa sebelumnya. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan profesionalitas guru, pelatihan semacam ini perlu dilanjutkan dan ditingkatkan. Children's intelligence development training for Aisyiyah kindergarten teachersEarly childhood is the golden age to develop their potential multiple intelligences. However, educational activities have often been reduced as teaching and schooling which centered on static transfer of knowledge and sometimes forget to develop non-academic intelligence. This paper aims to describe Aisyiyah teachers training in Banyuwangi Regency to develop the potential multiple intelligence in early childhood. We used dialogical lectures, exercises (simulations), and assistance as the methods. The results showed that 49.74% of 38 participants were satisfied, 48.70% were very satisfied, and only 1.56% were dissatisfied with the contents, methods, and facilities provided. This shows that contents of the material improve teacher's knowledge and could be applied in the teaching environment. The teacher also feels that they gained new experience because never attended a similar training before. Therefore, this kind of training needs to be continued and improved to improve teacher professionalism.

Abstract

This research is aimed to explore the cultural elements especially in Sasak architectures in Lombok Island such as a home living (Bale), worship building (masjid), lumbung (sambi) in ethnomathematics point of view. This research uses qualitative approach with cognitive (anthropology cognitive). The interviewees are the experienced custom leader and humanists who has conducted the research on Sasak society. Meanwhile, the data collection method used the participant, observation and documentation. Data analysis on this research is not only based on the researcher is interpretation but also the idea structure of the society.  This research shows the evidence of sensitivity on the use of numbers practiced by Sasak ancestor long time ago in doing the measurement using their anthropometric ability (Ethnomathematics). The architecture products of sasak society also describe that sasak society is more focus on the process than the final products itself which describes the consistency in conducting role and cultural device which control the desire of individual construction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural di SMA, yang meliputi: 1) mengembangkan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural yang sesuai diterapkan dalam mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA dan; 2) mengetahui kelayakan produk hasil pengembangan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model pengembangan 4D Thiagarajan yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate. Hasil penelitian terdiri dari: 1) model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural yang dikembangkan menggunakan metode 4D Thiagarajan yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi 3D. 2) Produk pengembangan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural berbasis proyek telah mendapatkan penilaian dari validasi ahli, validasi materi, guru sosiologi, teman sejawat, hasil penilaian menyatakan produk layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran sosiologi di SMA. Produk pengembangan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural berbasis proyek telah diuji coba pada kelompok kecil dan uji coba lapangan. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan produk layak digunakan, dibuktikan dengan peningkatan nilai yang signifikan pada kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural berbasis proyek dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran pendidikan multikultural dengan metode ceramah dengan media power point. Kata kunci: pendidikan multikultural, model pembelajaran berbasis proyek______________________________________________________________ DEVELOPING A MODEL OF PROJECT BASED MULTICULTURAL EDUCATIONAL LEARNING AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Abstract This research aims at developing a model of project based multicultural educational learning at senior high school, which includes: 1) staging of developing the model of project based multicultural educational learning which is acceptable in sociology subject at senior high school level; and 2) finding out the product worthiness of the model of project based multicultural educational learning in sociology subject at senior high school. This research is a development study which is based on 4D Thiagarajan’s development model which has four stages: define, design, develop and disseminate. The research findings are: 1) a model of multicultural educational learning developed through Thiagarajan’s 4D method which has modified into 3D. The 2) The product of development model of project based multicultural educational learning got assessment from an expert validator, material validator, sociology teacher, and peers. The results show that the product is worth to be applied in the learning subject of sociology at senior high school. The product of development model of project based multicultural educational learning was tested in a small group and field tryout. The results show that the product is worth to be applied which is proved through more significant improvement scores at the class which used the model of project based multicultural educational learning than lecturing method using power point.Keywords: multicultural education, project based learning model

Abstract

This article focuses on the importance of implementing holistic education in Muhammadiyah schools. The essence of education is to develop the full potentials of humanity covering the potentials of cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, creativity, and physical. The six potential humanities are a unity, which means a potential can be developed through another potential. Partial views of teachers on the potential of students have implications for non-intact practice of education in schools that make split personality on students. Muhammadiyah education as a part of the national education system is the mandate of the constitution to produce holistic man through education in Muhammadiyah schools. This article is based on research results at Muhammadyah Sleman Yogyakarta Elementary School.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the management of students with imtaq content at Al Azhar 31 Islamic Elementary School Yogyakarta. The type of research used is a case study. Data collection techniques in this study used interview techniques, observation techniques, and documentation techniques. The Miles and Huberman model used in this study was carried out through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification or conclusion drawing. Check the validity of the data using triangulation. The subjects in this study were the principal, class teacher, Islamic religious education teacher, and imtaq builder. The results of the study show that the first pattern of student management is planning, the steps are needs analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, and student recording and reporting. Second, organizing, forming a student admissions committee with strategy and cooperation. The third implementation is carried out in four steps, namely coaching, learning, habituation, and evaluation. Fourth, supervision is carried out once in every semester by the principal and the Al Azhar foundation. The management steps of students containing imtaq aim to create a pious and noble person.Keywords: Imtaq; Student management; Elementary school Abstrak: Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen peserta didik berbasis imtaq di Sekolah Dasar Islam Al Azhar 31 Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara, tenik observasi, dan teknik dokumentasi. Kedua pengorganisasian, pembentukan panitia penerimaan peserta didik dengan strategi dan kerjasama. Ketiga pelaksanaan, dilakukan dengan empat langkah yaitu pembinaan, pembelajaran, pembiasaan, dan evaluasi. Keempat pengawasan, dilaksanakan satu kali di setiap semester oleh kepala sekolah dan yayasan Al Azhar. Abstract

Globalisasi membuat dunia semakin terbuka dan berdampak pada semakin mudahnya pertukaran budaya yang belum tentu sesuai dengan konteks masyarakat Indonesia. Sayangnya guru dinilai belum berhasil dalam mengembangkan karakter anak dalam mentransformasikan budaya bangsa karena dinilai lebih focus pada materi pelajaran. Untuk itu, keterampilan pengembangan karakter anak diperlukan para guru agar tidak hanya menciptakan anak yang cerdas namun juga berkarakter. Program pelatihan dipilih sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru TK se Kecamatan Ngaglik Sleman sebagai upaya mengembangkan karakter anak di lingkungan sekolah. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan cara penyampaian materi dan action plan. Keberhasilan pelatihan dievaluasi menggunakan model Ralph W. Tyler yang berorientasi pada tujuan. Tujuan dari pelatihan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru terhadap pengembangan karakter anak. Pre-test dan post-test digunakan untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan guru terhadap pengembangan karakter anak. Sedangkan evaluasi terhadap action plan dilakukan dengan melihat catatan yang diserahkan para guru kepada tim PPM. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan Guru TK terhadap pengembangan karakter anak rata-rata 21.81 poin. Sedangkan action plan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan guru dari cara-cara yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan karakter anak

Abstract

Families living in slum areas are exposed to dense population and low income, both of which are conditions that make it difficult to meet the educational needs of their children. This article describes the involvement of parents in educating their children at home and at school. The study was carried out using ethnographic methods with 33 marginal families as informants. Marginal families who have children of elementary school age in grades 5 and 6, especially those living on the outskirts or banks of the Winongo and Code rivers, 3 large rivers that seem to divide the city of Yogyakarta, were included in this study. Data were collected using interviews, observations and focus groups. The results of the study show parental involvement as a form of transformation of knowledge systems, values, attitudes and skills. This often occurs in a patterned manner, repeatedly using examples, sometimes coercion as educational praxis at home and school in specific social environment situations. The daily interaction between parents and children in parent-child conversations tends to be instructive and emphasizes compliance to fulfill children's educational needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan profil dan perbedaan kesadaran multikultural generasi Z yang direpresentasikan oleh mahasiswa UNY. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan menggabungkan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif (metode campuran). Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta sejumlah 29.983 mahasiswa dengan pengambilan sampel secara acak multistage random sampling. Pelaksanaannya dilakukan dengan membagi populasi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu kelompok mahasiswa eksakta dan mahasiswa sosial-humaniora kemudian diambil sampelnya. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan rumus Lemeshow diperoleh sampel sebesar 95,73. Untuk menghindari adanya respon yang droup out maka jumlah sampel dibulatkan menjadi 200 orang untuk masing-masing kelompok mahasiswa eksakta dan mahasiswa sosial-humaniora dengan total 400 mahasiswa untuk kedua kelompok. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang diadopsi dari kuesioner yang dikembangkan oleh Tim Zamroni dan kawan-kawan. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dengan statistik uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kesadaran multikultural mahasiswa berdasarkan latar belakang keilmuan, yaitu mahasiswa dari fakultas sosial humaniora dan mahasiswa dari fakultas sains. Perbedaan ini menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang sosial budaya berimplikasi pada perbedaan kesadaran budaya. Diperlukan program yang holistik untuk memperkuat kesadaran multikultural di kalangan generasi Z. The purpose of this research was to describe the profile of multicultural awareness of the students’ of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). This study used a descriptive approach by combining quantitative and qualitative methods (mix methods). The quantitative approach is used as the main method and the qualitative approach as the secondary method. The research population was students of Yogyakarta State University with a total of 29983 people. Multistage random sampling was conducted by dividing the population into two parts, namely groups of exact science students and social-humanities students, then the samples were taken. The sampling technique using the Lemeshow formula, obtained a sample of  95.73. To avoid a dropout of responses, the number of samples was rounded up to 200 people for each group of exact science students and social-humanities students with a total of 400 students for both groups. The data collection technique used a questionnaire which was adopted from the questionnaire developed by Tim Zamroni et al. Data analysis was quantitative analysis using T-test statistics. The results indicate that there are differences of the students’multicultural awareness based on scientific backgrounds, such as social humanities and science. This difference shows that scientific backgrounds can form different multicultural awareness. Socio-cultural background influences multicultural experiences in cultural communication and adaptation in social interactions. A holistic program is requiered to strengthen multi-cultural awareness among generation Z.
