Abstract

This research aimed to develop a textbook and an e-book of teaching materials based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) incorporating the value of Bantenese culture to develop mathematical literacy  in social arithmetic; to examine the user's response to the textbook and e-book of teaching materials; and to identify students' mathematical literacy after using the textbook and e-book of teaching materials. The development research method used in this study refers to the research development model, which was initiated by Borg and Gall and adapted by Sugiyono into seven steps. Six expert tests from the material expert test and media expert test have carried out testing of the textbook and e-book teaching materials developed. The results of the study showed that the average  quality of the teaching materials reached 85%,  included in the 'good' category  and the average of the evaluation aspect was 82%, included in the category of "very practical". The results also revealed that the student's responses to the practical aspect for the teaching materials was 90% or  "very practical".  Students' average responses to the teaching materials was also classified as 'good' (89%). Besides, the average effectiveness was 93%, showing that that teaching materials were effective to use for developinh students' mathematical literacy.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the influence of Numbered Heads Together learning model with worked-example strategy for the students's mathematical reasoning skills. This method of research was quasi-exsperiment with Nonequivalent design Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The subject in this study was the X class of MIA 2 as the experimental class and X MIA 4 as the control class.  The instrument used is a test instrument of mathematical reasoning ability of students. Analysis of hypotheses data using t test, which is through the prerequisite test of normality and homogeneity. The results of this study, Numbered Heads Together learning model with worked-example strategy, have a better influence on reasoning ability than conventional learning models.

Abstract

Computer programming skills are required in mathematics computing courses. Most students have difficulty making computer programs. This study aims to identify the difficulties faced by students in making computer programs. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects in this study are students of Mathematics Education Departement, Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang. Based on the results of data analysis, the conclusion is: (1) there are significant differences in multidimensional array material between high, medium and low group; (2) there is a significant difference in input / ouput command material between high, medium and low group; (3) there are significant differences about the difficulties experienced by students in understanding the basic concept of programming between high, medium and low groups; (4) there is a significant difference regarding the difficulties experienced by students in finding the fault of their own programs between high, medium and low groups; (5) there is no significant difference in situations that may assist students in programming for lab work in the high, medium and low groups; (6) there is no significant difference in situations that can assist students in programming to do alone tasks between high, medium and low groups; (7) there is no significant difference in the lack of examples shown when practice makes poor performance in programming between high, medium and low groups; (8) there is no significant difference in what makes poor performance in programming a less conducive atmosphere between high, medium and low groups.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the ability of mathematical connections to be viewed from independent learning (SRL) in learning flat geometry courses. One class sample, namely second-semester students, collected 26 people, the mathematics education study program STKIP La Tansa Mashiro Rangkasbitung-Lebak, the 2020/2021 academic year. This type of research is descriptive qualitative chosen because it aims to describe the ability of students to solve math problems independently. The instrument used in this study is 30 questions for high, medium and low-level SRL, aiming to determine student learning independence. In contrast, five questions are given through the WhatsApp class group for the test instrument for mathematical connection abilities used in descriptions. The subjects in this study were selected based on active students and had good grades during bold learning activities. Then the interview test process was carried out six about the explanation between the researcher and the research subject. The results of the analysis of students' mathematical connection abilities, the mean value of the complete subject type SRL group = 96 with a score of 100%, moderate SRL of semi-complete type = 92.67 with a score of 90%, and Low SRL of incomplete type = 91 .67 with a score of 80%. Based on this, it shows that the value of the SRL category (high, medium, low) in the bold learning done after the analysis significantly affects the students' mathematical connection abilities.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAs an effort to achieve meaningfulness in the research process conducted by students, it requires a student ability covering ability compile to with refer to the question to be researched, formulating statistical hypothesis, solving, and interpreting problems which is relied by existing context, this ability is known as statistical literacy. The purpose of this study is to describe and assess the ability of statistical literacy. By knowing the ability of statistical literacy early on in the first semester, it will be able to be developed furthermore realization of subject circumstances under study in further statistics. The method used in this research is qualitative method with type of research strategy of case study. The subjects of the study are students majoring in mathematics education semester I in the basic statistics courses of the academic year 2016/2017. Research instrument that is researcher as main instrument, and statistic literacy test. The result of the research is 35% of students are in the high statistic literacy ability category, 13% of students are in the medium category, and 52% of students are in the low category, with different achievement in each capability category viewed from three indicators of statistical literacy ability. Abstract

The success of a learning program is marked by the achievement of competence by students. One component that can assist teachers in conveying concepts and helping students achieve these competencies is learning media. Learning media is a channel used by teachers to convey messages so that students are motivated to learn and make it easier to understand certain concepts. Current learning media in accordance with technological developments have changed from printed to digital. One example of a teaching material capable of conveying a picture or sound message is video. Learning videos have the advantage of being able to display real examples. However, conditions in the field indicate that the use of video in schools, especially in elementary schools, has not been widely used. This is due to several factors, including the ability of teachers to produce instructional videos. Based on these findings, the purpose of this study is to develop a digital teaching material design in the form of learning videos using the powtoon application and improve students' understanding. The development model that will be used in this research is the 4D model, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students in one of the public elementary schools in Pandeglang Regency. The results of this study are digital teaching materials, namely learning videos designed using the help of the powtoon application on the topic of the properties of light with a very good category and understanding the concepts of students related to the concept of light properties with the quality of achievement in the good category, namely 70.30%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of available mathematics teaching materials that are attractive and in accordance with the characteristics of primary school students. In addition, students' mathematical understanding is still low regarding the Geometry material. Based on these problems, the purpose of this research is to develop rainbow book teaching materials and to analyze the impact of using these teaching materials on mathematical understanding of students. This research is a development research using the 4D model, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. At the disseminate stage, an analysis of the impact of using teaching materials on student understanding is carried out. The instruments used were questionnaires and tests, questionnaires were used to assess the appropriateness of teaching materials both in terms of content and media. While the test is used to see students' mathematical understanding. Based on the results of the development, it was found that the rainbow book teaching material was feasible based on the content and media expert's assessment. The assessment of the two experts shows that the rainbow book can be used as teaching material in geometry materials for primary school students. In addition, based on the results of user responses, students stated that students showed good responses to learning using the rainbow book. The results of the comprehension test showed that the remainder after learning to use the rainbow book obtained an understanding score of 83.75 with a very good achievement category. Keywords: Teaching Materials, Rainbow Book, Student Understandig

Abstract

Abstrak. Literasi merupakan kemampuan yang perlu dikembangkan agar individu manpu memahami berbagai macam permasalahan sesuai dengan konteks yang terjadi. Ketersediaan bahan ajar yang mengacu pada kemampuan literasi masih sangat jarang dikembangkan, terutama di Jurusan Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar FKIP Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Dari masalah tersebut maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan suatu bahan ajar matematika berbasis literasi bagi mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar. Materi dalam bahan ajar ini adalah bilangan pada mata kuliah konsep dasar matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model pengembangan meliputi Concept, Design, Collecting Materials, Assembly dan Test Drive and Distribution. Untuk menguji kualitas bahan ajar maka dilakukan uji kevalidan dan kepraktisan yang dinilai oleh ahli (ahli materi dan ahli pendidikan) serta dosen dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  produk hasil pengembangan termasuk kedalam kategori sangat valid menurut para ahli, praktis menurut penilaian dosen dan mahasiswa.  Kata Kunci: Bahan Ajar, Literasi, Bilangan  Abstract. Literacy is an ability that needs to be developed so that individuals are able to understand various problems in accordance with the context that occurs. The availability of teaching materials that refer to the literacy capability is still very rarely developed, especially in the Primary Teacher Education of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. From the problem, the purpose of this research is to produce a literacy-based mathematics teaching material for students. The content in this teaching material is the numbers of the Konsep Dasar Matematika. This research is a research and development with development model consist of Concept, Design, Collecting Materials, Assembly and Test Drive and Distribution. To test the quality of instructional materials then tested the validity and practicality assessed by experts (material experts and media experts) and lecturers and students. The results showed that the product of the development results included into the category is very valid according to the experts, practically according to the assessment of lecturers and students. Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-concept and mathematics anxiety towards the freshmen learning results. The method used is the correlation method which was aimed to see how strong and how much influence of self-concept and mathematics anxiety with students’ learning results. The population in this study were all students of mathematics education academic year 2013/2014, the study sample was taken by purposive sampling technique as many as 88 students who took the Calculus I course. The instrument used in this research is scale mathematical self-concept and mathematics anxiety scale. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between self-concept and anxiety towards math-ematics learning outcomes of students. Research showed that there was a positive and sig-nificant relationship between self-concept and anxiety mathematical mathematics with stu-dent results.Keywords : Self Concept, Anxiety Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Pengembangan kelas virtual matematika untuk siswa kelas VIII dilatarbelakangi oleh belum adanya inovasi media pembelajaran online yang bersifat fleksibel dan dapat membantu siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu: (1) mengetahui kelayakan kelas virtual sebagai media pembelajaran matematika pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar, dan (2) mengetahui peningkatan kecakapan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah menggunakan kelas virtual pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Ciruas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa: (1) secara umum kelas virtual yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan sebagai pendukung pembelajaran dengan hasil uji ahli media dan ahli materi memperoleh kriteria cukup valid, uji praktisi pendidikan memperoleh kriteria sangat praktis, serta uji coba terbatas memperoleh kriteria sangat praktis, dan (2) peningkatan kecakapan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah menggunakan kelas virtual pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar sangat baik karena memperoleh nilai gain ternormalisasi dengan kriteria tinggi. Kesulitan yang ada dalam penelitian pengembangan ini antara lain durasi yang cukup lama untuk menyelesaikan tahap development, dan pengoperasian kelas virtual memelurkan jaringan internet yang kuat. Solusi untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut dapat dengan mengoptimalkan kemahiran teknologi dan menyiapkan jaringan internet yang kuat. Kata kunci: pengembangan, kelayakan, kelas virtual, komunikasi matematis, matematika
