Abstract

This study aims to determine the increased interest in learning mathematics in the first semester students PGSD UAD by using problem-based learning (PBL). This type of research is a classroom action research (PTK). The action given is a two-cycle PBL learning. The subject of the study is the first semester student of C PGSD UAD in the academic year 2016/2017 consisting of 59 students. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis.                                  The result of research shows that the value of mathematics student interest in cycle I reach 13.59% in very high category, 23,73% in high category, 28,81% in high enough category, 25,42% in low category. This result has not reached the target to be achieved. Therefore, it is followed by cycle II. In the second cycle, the students interest in mathematics score reached 25.42% in very high category, 54.24% in the high category, and 20.34% in the medium category. This study concludes that there is an increase in student interest in mathematics by using PBL in the first semester of PGSD UAD.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini di latar belakangi yaitu masih menggunakan model pembelajaran ceramah dimana guru menjelaskan materi di depan kelas lalu memberi contoh soal kepada siswa. Selain itu, dapat dilihat bahwa suasana pembelajaran di kelas masih kurang kondunsif. Siswa masih kurang aktif dan kurang berpartisipasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Sedangkan untuk prestasi belajar dapat dilihat dari hasil ulangan harian yang menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa masih banyak yang belum mendapatkan nilai dibatas yang ditentukan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) , dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan,  pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua siklus dengan setiap siklus ada dua kali pertemuan, sehingga dalam penelitian ini ada empat kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas III yang berjumlah 25 siswa, dan objek penelitian yaitu disposisi matematis dan prestasi belajar matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data data menggunakan metode observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan pada siklus I dari aspek disposisi matematis yang mencapai 48,72% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 61,815% pada siklus II. Rata-rata kelas pada siklus I yang semula 69,04% menjadi 87,68% pada siklus II. Serta ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 68% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 84% pada siklus II. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa penelitian selama siklus I dan siklus II menunjukkan adanya peningkatan disposisi matematis siswa dan prestasi belajar matematika dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe AIR.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berseting Team Group Tournament (TGT) dan PBL berseting Group Investigation (GI), serta membandingkan keefektifan pembelajaran PBL berseting TGT dan PBL berseting GI ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan toleransi siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison-group design. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sleman Yogyakarta yang terdiri atas tujuh kelas, yang dua kelas sebagai sampel acak. Untuk menguji keefektifan pembelajaran, digunakan uji one sample t-test. Selanjutnya, untuk membandingkan keefektifan pembelajaran, data dianalisis secara multivariat menggunakan uji T2 Hotteling’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika menggunakan PBL berseting TGT dan PBL berseting GI efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar siswa, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan toleransi siswa, dan tidak ada perbedaan antara keduanya.Kata Kunci: pendekatan PBL berseting TGT, pendekatan PBL berseting GI, prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, toleransi siswa The Comparison of the Effectiveness of TGT-Set and GI-Set PBL in Terms of Mathematics Learning Achievement, Creative Thinking Ability and Tolerance AbstractThis research aimed to describe the effectiveness of teaching mathematics by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) setting Team Group Tournament (TGT) and PBL with Group Investigation (GI), and as well as compare the effectiveness of PBL setting TGT and PBL setting GI in terms of mathematics learning achievement, creative thinking ability, and tolerance of junior high school students. This research was a quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison-group design. The research population includes all students of 8th grade SMPN 1 Sleman Yogyakarta which consists of seven classes. From the population, two classes were randomly selected as the research sample. To test the effectiveness, one sample t-test was used. Furthermore, to compare the effectiveness of teaching, the data were analyzed using a multivariate test of the T2 Hotteling’s. The results showed that the teaching process of mathematics using the TGT-set and GI-set PBL is effective in terms of mathematics learning achievement, creative thinking ability, and tolerance of junior high school students and there is no difference between the two.Keywords: TGT-set PBL, GI-set PBL, mathematics learning achievement, creative thingking ability, tolerance of students

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a cluster-based tracer study instrument that can be used to measure the absorption rate of graduates based on competency. This type of research is development. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) i. The product appraisal instrument uses a quality assessment sheet involving material experts and an evaluation sheet which is used to determine the responses of stakeholders and graduates regarding the use of the product being developed. The type of data obtained is data about the process of developing a cluster-based tracer study instrument from the input of experts and graduates. The data analysis of this research used process data analysis and product quality data analysis. The results of the study were based on a feasibility test based on the material validator, assessment, and language validator which were assigned to the graduate assessment instrument with the criteria of "very suitable". The results of field trials showed the feasibility of the instrument as a tool for evaluating graduates was 86.5% so that it could be used as an alternative in tracing studies. These results are used as the basis for determining the success of higher education institutions in producing quality graduates

Abstract

Students often find mathematics a challenging subject and turn it into a scourge for them. Game-based learning, such as “24-card game”, help engage students in a self-paced and fun learning process and thus may overcome students’ math anxiety and promote mental math skills. This research aims to examine how the 24-card game works using the Monte Carlo method and the possibility to overcome students' mathematics anxiety. The meta-analysis method was used to explain Monte Carlo’s simulation to solve the solution for all possible combinations of cards in the game and respectively assign difficulty levels. The student's proficiency level was evaluated based on the divergence value in the number of guesses required to solve the dealt combination at 87% to show full proficiency. The evaluation could also show the math difficulty of advanced operations, such as fractions and grouping games. This game is more efficient in developing students' mental math skills compared to a conventional and rigidly structured classroom lecture.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) find out the steps in developing Panlintarmatika learning media, 2) know the feasibility of developing Panlintarmatika learning media based on experts.  This study is a type of Research and Development (R and D) research using the Borg and Gal model which consists of: (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary from a product, (4) prelimunary field testing,  (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product revision (8) operational field testing.  The trial subjects used were 18 grade 2 students and teachers at SD N Kalangan.  Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and questionnaires.  Data analysis includes quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis.  The results showed that the validation of the media experts received a score of 60 in the "Very good" category, the validation of the material experts received a score of 42 in the "Good" category and the learning expert received a score of 60 in the "Good" category.  The results of the small-scale field test students get a score of 100 with the category "Very Good" and the teacher gets a score of 94 with the category "Very Good".  Large-scale field test results students get a score of 100 with the category "Very Good" and the teacher scores 98 with a score of "Very Good" It can be concluded that the Panlintarmatika learning media is feasible and can be used as class 2 learning multiplication material

Abstract

Indonesian school-age children generally have lower mathematics competence compared to those of other countries. One of the ways to solve this problem is through the introduction of the ethnomathematics approach associated with everyday life and culture. This study aims to develop and determine the quality and feasibility of the digital flipbook module with an ethnomathematics approach for the greatest common divisor and least common multiple materials for the fourth grade of elementary school. The data were collected through a questionnaire with quantitative and qualitative analysis. This study indicates that the current research and development has achieved the expected quality of the digital flipbook module, which has been validated by media, language, material, and learning experts. The score resulting from media validation was 84.4, the material expert was 84, linguists was 76, and learning expert was 88, and thus the average assessment of this module was 83.2, which is classified as a very good category. In terms of priorities, with limited trials, the assessment score of the teacher’s response was in the good category with 92, and the average score of student assessment was 94 or in a good category. The average assessment from expert validators, teachers, and students was 86.46, which was classified in a very good category. Thus, the digital flipbook module with an ethnomathematics approach for least common multiple (KPK) and greatest common divisor (FPB) materials developed by researchers is suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan membaca pemahaman terhadap kemampuan pemecahan soal cerita Matematika peserta didik kelas V SD Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex-post facto. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun yang berjumlah 66 peserta didik. Variabel yang diteliti yaitu keterampilan membaca pemahaman (Variabel X) dan kemampuan pemecahan soal cerita Matematika (Variabel Y). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, dan juga menggunakan wawancara. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana dan korelasi pearson dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 20. Hasil penelitian yang diolah menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana dan uji korelasi pearson menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan membaca pemahaman berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan soal cerita Matematika, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai sig kurang dari 0,05 yaitu sebesar 0,000 dengan persamaan regresi linier sederhana Y = 1,500 + 0,612X. Untuk Pearson Correlation diperoleh sebesar 0,746 sehingga jika dilihat dari pedoman derajat hubungan yang sudah tertera, pearson correlationnya adalah berkorelasi kuat. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan membaca pemahaman berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan soal cerita Matematika dengan derajat hubungan korelasi kuat.
