Abstract

The purpose of the study was to show the concept of the among system as a model of education and teaching in documentary sources, and also the realization of the concept in the education and teaching setting. The study involved two designs: one was a study content (documentary) and the other was a qualitative approach. In the first design, the researcher studied written documentary sources of the system among. In the second design, the researcher observed the realization of the system among concepts. The subjects of the study included a member of the Board of Majelis Luhur Taman Siswa, teachers and students of Taman Siswa schools, and also the alumni of Taman Siswa schools. Data were analyzed using qualitative analyses. The results show that the among system of education, the work of Ki Hadjar Dewantara, actually is an educational and teaching system that is complete and comprehensive, and one that can be implemented lifetime. Nevertheless, in the realization on Taman Siswa schools, due to the limitation of facilities, implementation of the among system could not completely

Abstract

An educational system should be able to develop students' ability to learn. Students who have good learning habits and ability could begiven the J:eSPonsibilit¥ and ability ofregulating their own learning activities. Itmeans that it would be the students themselves who would execute the processes of exploration, inquiry, and learning and also conceptualize their activities. Students' learning activities would not work ifthe teacher's conceptofinstruction still uses the approach ofthe "content delivery system", which means that the teacher continually gives with the students merely taking and accepting. This kind ofinstructional approach principally would produce passive and dependent students, who always wait to be spoon-fed bythe teacher. Such an attitude passivity anddependence in students would affect them by decreasing their enthusiasm for active learning, which, in tum, would yield a low academic perfonnance, preventing them from getting a passing grade, make them fail, and possibly even cause them to drop out. On the face ofsuch a problem, there has come the concept ofself-regulated learning, a concept that tries to explain how students canberegula­ tors oftheirownlearning activities.Self-regulated learning is the kind oflearning that occurs because of the influence of students' self-generated thoughts, feelings, strategies, and behaviors which are oriented toward the attainment oflearning goals. Here it is important that students' initiative starts their learning activity. Active, dynarnic, and creative students usually have much initiative to doing some activities. Once they know the direction to the objectives, they would generate thoughts, feelings, strategies, and behaviors oriented toward the attainment ofgoals. So the basic components of self-regulated learning are self-regula­ tion ofcognition, self-regulation ofmotivation and emotion, and self-regulation ofbehavior. Teachers can help students become more self-regulated. Some ways to teach self-regulated learning are explicit instruction, direct reflection, and meta-cognitive discussion. Two modeh{that could be followed are those called Cycle ofSelf-Regulated Learning, and ACyclical Model ofSelf­ regulated Learning from Zimmerman. Both models, however, are alike principally. They start with planning, implementation, and e valuation ofthe chosen strategies. Results ofthe researches have proven that self-regulated learning correlates significantly with academic performance in primary, middle, and high school students. Abstract

Abstract: School Counselor Roles in Character Education. Character educationwas one of the focuses in the system of national education. Therefore, educatorsmust not neglect this. A school counselor, as one of the educators, has to play a rolein character education. Referring to guidance and counseling responsibilities inrelation to students personal, social, academic, and career aspects, a schoolcounselor must not escape from the main duties. Considering that charactereducation is the responsibility of all parties, a school counselor can, independentlyand in collaboration with all school components, play a role in character education.Individually, a school counselor can provide services, such as individual services,individual planning services, and responsive services. In collaboration with otherparties, a school counselor can make a synergy in character education programs.Keywords: school counselor, character education

Abstract

This research was aimed to evaluate the implementation of authentic assessment of elementary school in Province of Yogyakarta and also to know the obstacles of its implementation. This was an evaluative research by a Stake's evaluation model approach. The results of observation in compare to the standard of assessment should be criteria to determine the succeed. This research subjects were elementary teachers in Province of Yogyakarta. Observation, interview, and documentation were used to gather data. The research showed that: (1) Planning (antecedents) stage or understanding towards authentic assessment planning has not been fulfilled the standard to be categorized as Good with percentage of 68.75%; (2) Process (transaction) or implementation stage that obtained 63.41% in percentage was classified in Good category; (3) Outcome stage or authentic assessment report showed 68.48% in percentage and should be categorized Good. The implementation of authentic assessment in Province of Yogyakarta elementary schools have not 100% met the standard. Therefore, results from this research finding were expected to be tools to improve performance from all stakeholders.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis scientific approachKeindahan Alam Negeriku yang layak bagi kelas IV SD untuk membangun karakter kepedulian dankedisiplinan dan mengetahui keefektifannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan  pengembanganyang mengacu pada model Borg Gall. Subjek uji coba siswa kelas IV SDN Salamrejo Sentolo, KulonProgo. Subjek uji coba awal terdiri atas 4 siswa. Subjek uji coba lapangan terdiri atas 10 siswa yangbelum terlibat dalam uji coba awal, dan subjek uji lapangan operasional terdiri atas 39 siswa dari kelasIVA dan kelas IVB. Hasil penelitian berupa perangkat pembelajaran yang meliputi: silabus, RPP, LKS,dan instrumen penilaian. Hasilnya menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkanlayak menurut ahli materi dan ahli pembelajaran dengan kategori penilaian sangat baik. Perangkat pembelajaran dinilai efektif karena hasil uji t pada karakter peduli sebesar 4,854 dan karakter disiplinsebesar 1,926 lebih besar dari t table yaitu 1,684 sehingga menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikanterhadapkarakterdisiplindanpeduliantarasiswayangmengikutipembelajarantanpaperangkatpembelajarandanyangmenggunakanperangkatpembelajaranhasilpengembangan.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, scientific approach, karakter LEARNING SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT BASED ON SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO BUILD CHARACTER OF CARE AND DISCIPLINE Abstract: This study aims to (1) produce a learning device based on scientific approach that can befeasible to develop the character of elementary school fourth graders especially caring and disciplinecharacter and (2) determine the effectiveness of learning device based on scientific approach that candevelop the character of elementary school fourth graders especially caring and discipline character.This was a research and development (R D) study consisting of ten stages, namely: (1) preliminarystudy and data collection, (2) planning, (3) product draft development, (4) preliminary field tryout, (5)revision of the tryout result, (6) field tryout, (7) product finalization based on the field tryout result, (8)operational field testing, (9) final product finalization and (10) dissemination and implementation. Thetryout subjects were Grade IV students of SDN Salamrejo Sentolo Kulon Progo. The preliminary fieldtryout subjects consisted of four students. The main field testing subjects consisted of ten studentswho were not involved in the preliminary field tryout. The operational field tryout subjects consistedof 39 students from Grade IV A and Grade IV B.The result of this research is a learning device consistingofasyllabus,lesson plans, student worksheets, and assessment instruments. The resultsof expertshowthatthelearningdevicehasbeendevelopedisfeasibleaccordingtothematerialexpertandlearningexpertwithexcellentassessmentcategory.Thedeviceisalsoconsideredaneffectivelearningbecausethe results of the t test on the character of caring are 4.854, in the character of the discipline1.926 which greater than t table is 1.684 indicating significant difference of the character of disciplineand care among the students who follow the teaching and learning and those without using learningdevice. Keywords: development, learning device, scientific approach, characters

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the internalization of guidance and counseling profession, and to compare the degree of internalization based on semester of guidance and counseling profession of guidance and counseling students. The population was guidance and counseling students of the Faculty of Educational Scienties on the odd semester 2008/2009 totally 588. The proporsional stratified random sampling technique was used to find the sample 202 students. The main method was questionare that supported by observation and interview. Descriptive analisys and One Way ANOVA employed to analysis teh data. The result show that the degree of internalization of guidance and counseling profession lay on medium category agree with development of the degree of semester. The guidance and counseling students difference in the degree of internalization in each semester. The students of regular and non-regular difference in internalize the value of guidance and counseling profession, but they are not difference especially in gender. Abstract

 Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Subject Spesific Pedagogy (SSP) tematik integratif terhadap peningkatan karakter kedisiplinan siswa kelas I SD Negeri Singkawang Tengah Kalimantan Barat.  Jenis  penelitian  ini  adalah  quasi  experiment  dengan  rancangan  penelitian  Non- equivalent control group design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yakni seluruh siswa kelas I SD Negeri 01Singkawang Tengah Kalimantan Barat tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Teknik pengumpulan data yang di- gunakan adalah teknik observasi.  Instrumen  pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu pedoman observasi  karakter  kedisiplinan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji  ANAVA kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji tukey dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa SSP tematik integratif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan karakter kedisiplinan siswa. Rerata pening- katan karakter kedisiplinan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan SSP tematik integratif lebih besar dari siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan perangkat yang dikembangkan guru. Hasil uji lanjut/uji tukey menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan karakter ke- disiplinan siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara karakter kedisiplinan siswa pada kelas eksperimen I dan kelas eksperimen II. Kata Kunci: ssp tematik integratif, karakter disiplin, dan sekolah dasar THE EFFECT OF SSP INTEGRATIVE TEMATIC TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S DISCIPLINE CHARACTER OF GRADE I STUDENTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL  Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effect of subject spesific pedagogy (SSP) Integrative Webbed on discipline character of grade I students of SD Negeri 01 Singkawang Tengah Kalimantan Barat. This research was a quasi-experiment using with nonequivalent control group design. This re- search was a population research. The subject of this research were all of students grade I SD Negeri01 Singkawang Tengah, Kalimantan Barat the academic year 2013/2014. The data were collectedthrough observation. The instruments to collect the data were character observation sheets.The data were analyzed using the ANAVA Test and Tukey Test with the significance level of 0,05. The result of the research showed SSP integrative tematic has a significant effect to develop character building for the student’s discipline. The result of the students’ building discipline character that joined the lesson used SSP integrative tematic more than the student joined the studying that used studying set that developed by the teachers. The result of Tukey Test showed that there is significant effect difference of the discipline character between the experimental class and control class, but there is no significant effect of the discipline character between the experimental class I and experimental class II. Keywords: integrative thematic ssp, discipline character, and elementary school

Abstract

Guidance and counselling in Indonesia was a relatively young profession. As a new comer profession it has many missled and misconducted, one of them was misunderstanding about guidance and counselling rofession as a static profession. The consequence was the survices of guidance and counseling uncontextual, unfullfil the needs and hopes of society. The aim of this article enlighted the canging of guidance and counselling paradigm from the past, present, and future. On the past school counselling services driven counselling, consultation, and coordination. Now, guidance and counselling should be proactively survices that was leadership, advocacy, teaming and collaboration, assessment and use of data, and technology. On the future intentional and purposefull school counselling program was aligned and integrated with the educational interprise. Abstract

Guidance and counseling in Indonesia’s school had developed for aproximately thirty five years. On those periode the development of guidance and counseling was not always had impact positively. The image of guidance and counseling in school was become dark, and school counselor was considered identical as school police were the kinds of the negatively development. One of the reason was school counselor’s roles had been forgeted, that was school counselor as a counselor, school counselor as a consultant, school counselor as a change agent, school counselor as a primary prevention agent, and school counselor as a manager. Based on those facts therefore the revitalization of the school counselor’s roles, that begun with internal initiative to carry out guidance and counseling proportionally, then strove for the understanding and reforming externally, and to increase school counselor’s skills continually, would improve school counselor’s role that were expected would carry out his roles professionally, so guidance and counseling in school would bright again.Keywords: Revitalization; Scool Counselor’s Roles.

Abstract

 Penelitian   ini   bertujuan   untuk      mengetahui   hubungan   kompetensi   guru   sekolah   dasar   dalam mendiagnosis kesulitan belajar siswa, memanfaatkan media belajar dan mengelola kelas dengan hasil belajar di kecamatan Kota Tambolaka, NTT. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex post facto. Populasi penelitian 241 orang guru. Sampel sejumlah 148   orang dengan teknik quota sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuisioner dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi linear sederhana dan ganda.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut. (1) Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam mendiagnosis kesulitan belajar siswa dengan hasil belajar siswa (p<0,05; R2:24,8%,); (2) Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam memanfaatkan media belajar dengan hasil belajar siswa (p<0,05; R2:20,1%); (3) Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan  antara kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam mengelola kelas dengan hasil belajar (p<0,05;R2: 24,6%); dan (4) Hasil analisis regresi linear ganda menunjukkan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam mendiagnosis kesulitan belajar siswa, memanfaatkan media belajar dan mengelola kelas dengan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa (p<0,05; R2: 46,5%).
