Abstract

This article aims to describe the development of models of educational research skills (life skills) for school dropouts Lapindo mudflow victims. Collecting data dropouts and the desired type of life skills is done through interviews and kuesinoer. While the development of life skills education model using the methods of research and development by modifying the model Plomp. Data were analyzed descriptively and the average percentage and kualitatiof analysis model of Miles and Huberman (1992). The results showed that the characteristics of school dropouts in the Lapindo mudflow victims Siring village and sub-district Renojoyo Porong, Besuki village and Pejarakan Jabon subdistrict, and village districts Sentul Tanggulangin Kedungbendo and numbered 67 people. Of these the majority of high school education or equivalent, ie 30 people or 44.78%, while 26 people or 38.80% junior high school graduates, and 11 people, or 16.41% of primary school graduates or equivalent. Mostly aged between 16 and 18 years of age, ie 39 (58.20%). Type the desired skills are service motorcycles, sewing, mobile phone service, and home industries. Memindaklanjuti desire for school dropouts Lapindo mudflow victims (APSKLL), the three modules developed life skills education, the service module motorcycles, sewing skills module, and mobile phone service modules. Writing module is made as simple as possible, the basic material content, word choice tailored to the educational level, and comes in the form of examples and illustrative pictures are clear. However, the module has not been tested because it was before used in the training of life skills education for APSKLL advisable to conduct research trials modu use. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian pengembangan model pendidikan keterampilan hidup (life skills) bagi anak putus sekolah korban lumpur Lapindo. Pengumpulan data anak putus sekolah dan jenis keterampilan hidup yang diinginkan dilakukan melalui metode wawancara dan kuesiner. Sementara pengembangan model pendidikan keterampilan hidup menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan memodifikasi model Plomp. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif persentase dan rata-rata serta analisis kualitatif model Miles dan Huberman (1992). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik anak putus sekolah korban lumpur Lapindo di desa Renojoyo dan Siring kecamatan Porong, desa Besuki dan Pejarakan Kecamatan Jabon, dan desa Kedungbendo dan Sentul kecamatan Tanggulangin berjumlah 67 orang. Dari jumlah tersebut sebagian besar berpendidikan SLTA atau sederajat, yakni 30 orang atau 44,78%, sedangkan 26 orang atau 38,80% lulusan SMP atau sederajat, dan 11 orang atau 16,41% lulusan SD atau sederajat. Sebagian besar berusia antara 16 sampai usia 18 tahun, yakni 39 orang (58,20%). Jenis keterampilan yang diinginkan adalah service sepeda motor, menjahit, service handphone, dan home industri. Untuk memindaklanjuti keinginan anak putus sekolah korban lumpur Lapindo (APSKLL) tersebut, dikembangkan tiga modul pendidikan keterampilan hidup, yakni modul service sepeda motor, modul keterampilan menjahit, dan modul service handphone. Penulisan modul dibuat sesederhana mungkin, isi materi yang mendasar, pilihan kata disesuaikan dengan tingkat pendidikan, serta dilengkapi ilustrasi berupa contoh dan gambar-gambar yang jelas. Namun, modul tersebut belum diujicoba, karena itu sebelum dipergunakan dalam pelatihan pendidikan keterampilan hidup bagi APSKLL disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian uji coba penggunaan modu.

Abstract

Abstrak— Penjaminan kinerja tutor di Universitas Terbuka (UT) ditentukan dari hasil evaluasi tutor yang dilakukan secara manual dengan cara membagikan angket kepada mahasiswa. Sistem ini membutuhkan biaya besar, kurang disukai mahasiswa, mengganggu aktivitas tutorial, pengolahan angket masih dilakukan secara manual, dan laporan hasil tidak dapat diterima tepat waktu. Solusinya perlu sistem evaluasi tutor berbasis online untuk menggantikan sistem yang lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi sistem evaluasi tutor berbasis online yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan Tutorial Tatap Muka di UT. Desain aplikasi menggunakan System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) dengan beberapa tahapan. Tahap pertama adalah analisis kebutuhan menggunakan teknik wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Tahap kedua adalah analisis kebutuhan sistem yang dilakukan untuk merumuskan solusi dari permasalahan yang ada. Tahap ketetiga yaitu perancangan sistem yang digambarkan dalam bentuk diagram data flow diagram context level (DFD). Tahap keempat merupakan implementasi sistem yang dilakukan dengan membuat pseudocode. Tahap terakhir adalah pengujian sistem, menggunakan metode black box testing. Hasil ujicoba menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi sistem sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan, dimana mahasiswa UT dapat menilai tutor dengan mengakses internet. Berdasarkan pengujian fungsional dan evaluasi aplikasi evaluasi tutor berbasis online ini dapat membantu UT  dalam hal peningkatan kualitas layanan tutorial tatap muka.Kata Kunci— Sistem Evaluasi Tutor, Tutorial Tatap Muka, Pendidikan Jarak Jauh, Universitas TerbukaAbstract— Underwriting performance of tutors at the Open University (UT) is determined from the evaluation of tutors is done manually by distributing a questionnaire to students. This system is costly, less preferred students, interfere with the activity of the tutorial, the questionnaire processing is still done manually, and the report can not be received on time. The solution needs to be an evaluation system based tutors online to replace the old system. This study aims to generate application-based tutor online evaluation system which can improve the quality of service tutorial face to face at UT. Application design using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with several stages. The first is a systems planning (needs analysis), using interview techniques, dokuemntasi and observation. Second, system analysis (system requirements analysis) conducted to formulate the solution of existing problems. Third, the system design (system design), which is depicted in diagrammatic form context-level data flow diagram (DFD). Fourth systems implementation (implementation of the system), carried out using pseudocode programming code based on the programming language, and Fifth, system testing, using black box method testing. Results test show that the application is in conformity with the needs of the system, where students can assess the tutor UT simply by accessing the internet. Expected results of this study, evaluation of the application form based online tutors can help UT in terms of improving the quality of face-to-face tutorial services.Keywords— Tutor Evaluation System, Face to Face Tutorial, Distance Education, Open University

Abstract

The trend of online learning is growing. Through the Circular of theMinister of Education and Culture Numbers 2 and 3 of 2020 requires that the entire teaching and learning process be carried out online. Not all elements of society can accept online learning patterns as a medium for transforming knowledge due to the availability of infrastructure to the characteristics of the community itself. This study aims to explain implementing online learning with the adaptation pattern proposed by Robert Merton. The research design used is a literature review. Articles are collected using the Science and Technology Index (Sinta) link, Garba Reference Digital (Garuda), Ministry of Religious Affairs Reference (Moraref), Indonesian Scientific Repository (Neliti) The Preprint Server of Indonesia (RINarxiv). The time range used is 2011-2021. Based on theresults of the study and analysis of the articles collected, it was found that the pattern of adaptation carried out by educators and students is the antithesis of policies issued by the government. The pattern of adaptation carried out by the community is based on the resources and characteristics they have.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the searching model of students and tutors answer and question activity in online tutorial (tuton) through FAQ system. All of the answers and question are collected in FAQ application so that it can be easily accessed by the students, both forms of online and offline in HTML format in TXT format, So, tutors dont need to write down the answers, if the students have made the documentation. The procedure of development follows in Borg and Gall which consists of 6 steps, they are; information collection, planning, pre-product development, pre-test, pre-product revision, and field test. For model planning is done by collaborating with lecturers of information system department, sains and technology faculty, Airlanga University. The subject of research is visual communication expert and computer expert to examine the product, students and MPS Tuton in registration time 2011-2012. To examine the field test or model evaluation. The data analysis uses the descriptive qualitative method and served in narration bases on research finding. Based on the result of field test, 96,1% students stated that FAQ application help to understand module material, 96,1% stated that documentation of answers is understandable, and 94,5% stated that document of answer and question is suitable with students desire and needs. Therefore, FAQ application affectively helps students to understand MPS subject and prepare to face the final test (uas). The offered recommendation is FAQ Application which is developed to other subjects and recommend entirely usage in UT, event all tutors are possibly recommended to use FAQ application in the time of doing online tutorial. Artikel ini bertujuan untukmemaparkan tentang pengembangan model penelusuran dokumen aktivitas tanya jawab mahasiswa dan tutor dalam tutorial online (tuton) melalui sistem FAQ, serta menguraikan efektivitas penggunaan FAQ pada mata kuliah MPS. Seluruh dokumen tanya jawab dikumpulkan dalam aplikasi FAQ agar dapat diakses mahasiswa, baik bentuk online dalam format HTML maupun offline dalam format TXT, sehingga tutor tidak perlu menulis ulang jawaban, jika pertanyaan mahasiswa telah terdokumentasi. Prosedur pengembangan mengikuti alur Borg and Gall (1989) terdiri atas 6 langkah, yaitu; mengumpulkan informasi, menyusun perancangan produk, mengembangkan produkawal, uji awal, merevisi produkawal, dan uji lapangan. Untuk perancangan model dilakukan kolaborasi dengan dosen Jurusan Sistem Informasi Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Airlangga (Unair). Subjekpenelitian adalah ahli komunikasivisual danahli komputer untuk pengujian produk, mahasiswa peserta tuton MPS masa registrasi 2011.2 untuk pengujian lapangan atau evaluasi model. Datadianalisis menggunakanmetode kualitatif deskriptifdanditafsirkandengan caranarasiberdasarkan temuanpenelitian.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji coba awal produk aplikasi FAQ yang dikembangkan sudah valid dan dapat digunakan. Hasil pengujian lapangan juga menunjukkan bahwa 100% mahasiswa menyatakan sistem penelusuran dokumentasi aktivitas diskusi tanya jawab materi mata kuliah MPS mudah digunakan dan dapat dibaca secara berulang kapan saja, 96,1% menyatakan materi dokumentasi dapat membantu memahami materi modul MPS, 96% menyatakan dokumentasi jawaban mudah dipahami, 94,5% menyatakan dokumentasi tanya jawab sesuai dengan keinginan dan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian lapangan, 96,1% mahasiswa menyatakan aplikasi FAQ membantu memahami materi modul, 96,1% menyatakan dokumentasi jawaban mudah dipahami, dan 94,5% menyatakan dokumentasi tanya jawab sesuai dengan keinginan dan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, aplikasi FAQ sangat efektif membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami mata kuliah MPS dan persiapan menghadapi ujian akhir semester (UAS). Rekomendasi yang dapat ditawarkan adalah aplikasi FAQ dikembangkan untuk mata kuliah lain dan mengusulkan penggunaan secara meluas di UT, bahkan jika memungkinkan seluruh tutor disarankan untuk memanfaatkan aplikasi FAQ ketika melaksanakan tutorial online.

Abstract

One of the weaknesses of UT as the holder of distance education is the difficulty in distributing the printed learning materials (modules) to the students spread all over the country. Recently, UT has developed Online based module distribution which is commonly known as UT E-bookstore (TBO-UT). This research is to describe the effectivity of using TBO-UT, and done by qualitative approach and quantitative approach. The result of this research shows that (1) the students participation in using TBO-UT is still low, which is only 10,36% from all students of UBJJ-UT Surabaya. It implies that (a) the TBO is still new that not all students know about it (b) less socialization of using TBO-UT (c) the low skill of students in accessing the internet. This research also shows that Online based module distribution is not effective yet to fulfill the students needs. It is caused by some factors (a) the module distribution is not on time yet (b) the students find difficulty in paying the modules for no Bank Mandiri in their area (c) the bad connection in accessing the UT website (d) the lack of modules needed by students. The presence of TBO UT really helps full time worked students but becomes a problem for those who get difficulty in accessing the internet.

Abstract

To Increasing the learning resources access for UT students is one of the important agenda that needs to be translated into optimizing the role of Unit Program Belajar Jarak Jauh (UPBJJ). In this case, UPBJJ-UT Surabaya has developed a collaboration to utilize ICT Center which related to the National Education Network activity (Jardiknas). This research aim is to describe the use of ICT Center for increasing the access to the learning resources for UT students, by using a qualitative approach and descriptive evaluative research strategy. The result of this research shows that student participation in the ICT Center facility is still low, the only 53 student (11.77%). The low participation of students is due to, (1) lack of adequate socialization to students, (2) students ability to access the internet, (3) location of ICT Center from students resident, and (4) the lack of obligation policy for UT students to access the internet. The results of this research also shows that the collaboration between UPBJJ UT-Surabaya with the ICT Center is not optimal, because of; (1) limited technical guidance, (2) is no clarity of operational cost, and (3) the knowledge ICT Center the UT website. However, the collaboration a good prospect, because of the strong of government to the ICT Center activity.

Abstract

The success of democracy in a nation is measured by the existence of a peaceful, civilised social life. In Indonesia, however, ornaments of violence are still present while resolving issues, as in Madura. This study tries to outline the underlying factors that lead to the formation of violence and pinpoint the function that local elites play in curbing the use of violence. The Galtung theory of violence is utilised in the investigational analysis. In order to analyse the data for this study, we used qualitative research, a case study procedure, and an integration strategy. The findings demonstrated that violence has permeated the Madurese culture. Internally passed down and socially sanctioned, it has been used to cope with a variety of life concerns, such as issues involving wives or women, misunderstandings, inheritance, land, religion or belief, theft, and debts and receivables. Because they have historically served as a point of reference in times of conflict, local elites such as Bhuppa/Bhâbu, Ghuru, Rato (parents, Kiai or the leader in the Islamic religion/teacher, and government) are crucial to the realisation of a culture of non-violence. The local elite’s necessary development of their function does not restrict but rather dampens and empowers, notably among the Bâjing.
