ABSTRAK Kegiatan penguatan kompetensi supervisi akademik bagi kepala sekolah dasar bertujuan untuk: 1) Meningkatkan pemahaman peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor dan pentingnya supervisi akademik dalam meningkatkan professional guru yang berdampak pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan di sekolah, 2) Meningkatkan sikap positif kepala sekolah dalam mengembangkan kemampuan dan usaha-usaha memperbaiki pelaksanaan supervisi akademik di sekolah, 3) Meningkatkan kemampuan atau keterampilan kepala sekolah dalam menerapkan kegiatan ini adalah kepala sekolah memiliki sikap positif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dan usaha memperbaiki pelaksanaan supervisi akademik di sekolah. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Aula Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini: 1) Ekspositori: instruktur ceramah atau presentasi dengan menggunakan media visual, 2) Tanya jawab: dalam ceramah atau presentasi yang disampaikan oleh instruktur kepada peserta disertai tanya jawab antara peserta dan instruktur, 3) Pemberian tugas: instruktur memberikan tugas kepada peserta untuk melaksanakan kegiatan sesuai dengan materi yang telah diberikan. Pemberian tugas dilakukan secara individu dan kelompok, 4) Diskusi kelompok: kegiatan yang dilakukan secara kelompok dalam rangka menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan oleh instruktur yang hasilnya dipresentasikan dihadapan kelompok lain, 5) Latihan: kegiatan praktik pembuatan rencana kegiatan pengawasan akademik. Sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah kepala sekolah dasar yang masa jabatannya kurang dari lima tahun. Hasil kegiatan: 1. Meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta tentang pentingnya pengembangan guru, peran dan tanggungjawab kepala sekolah, konsep dasar sipervisi akademik, dan pendekatan, prinsip dan teknik supervisi akademik, 2. Materi kegiatan merupakan hal yang dibutuhkan dan bermanfaat bagi peserta atau kepala sekolah untuk merencanakan dan melaksanakan kegiatan supervisi akademik di sekolah, 3. Menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan sikap positif kepala sekolah terhadap pelaksanaan supervisi akademik dalam mengembangkan profesional guru, dan 4. Meningkatkan keterampilan kepala sekolah dalam membuat perencanaan pengawasan akademik dan menggunakan lembar pengamatan untuk menilai guru mengajar. Kata kunci: penguatan, supervisi akademik, kepala sekolah ABSTRACT Activities to strengthen academic supervision competencies for primary school principals aimed to: 1) Increase understanding of the role of school principals as supervisors and the importance of academic supervision in improving teacher professionalism which had an impact on improving the quality of education in schools, 2) Increasing the positive attitude of school principals in developing abilities and efforts to improve the implementation of academic supervision in schools, 3) Increasing the ability or skills of school principals in implementing this activity is that the principal had a positive attitude to develop abilities and efforts to improve the implementation of academic supervision in schools. The activity was carried out in the Hall of the Education and Culture Office of the City of Bandar Lampung. The methods used in this activity were: 1) Expository: instructors gave lectures or presentations using visual media, 2) Question and answer: lectures or presentations were delivered by the instructor to participants accompanied by questions and answers between participants and instructors, 3) Assignment: the instructor gave tasks for participants to carry out activities in accordance with the material that had been given. Assignments were carried out individually and in groups, 4) Group discussion: activities carried out in groups in order to complete the tasks given by the instructor whose results were presented in front of other groups, 5) Exercise: practical activities were done by making plans for academic supervision activities. The targets of this activity were primary school principals whose tenure was less than five years. Results of the activity were: 1. Increasing participants' knowledge about the importance of teacher development, the roles and responsibilities of school principals, basic concepts of academic supervision, and approaches, principles and techniques of academic supervision, 2. Activity materials were things that were needed and useful for participants or school principals to plan and carry out academic supervision activities in schools, 3. Cultivating and increasing the principal's positive attitude towards the implementation of academic supervision in developing teacher professionalism, and 4. Improving the skills of principals in making academic supervision plans and using observation sheets to assess teaching teachers. Keywords: strengthening, academic supervision, principal
