Abstract

The changing times that followed the development of technology made the education system management must be updated to suit the needs and conditions of the environment. In this article, we look for information about the education system in two different countries, namely Japan and Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out the integration between the two countries that have different education management systems. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. In this research also, the research method is based on the philosophy of postpositivism, using natural conditions or objects. The instrument used to find out information on the education system in each school uses 10 questions and looks for curriculum information data in general in each country. The findings in this study found that, although the management of the education systems of the two countries was slightly different, Indonesian students could compete to continue their tertiary education to developed countries. Besides, the education system in Japan does not make students from Indonesia experience difficulties.

Abstract

Every life needs a very important role especially the role in education. Improving the quality of education can be pursued by the use of appropriate learning models so as to improve students' reasoning abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the influence of Novick's learning model and the learning model that is centered on educators on students' mathematical reasoning abilities, Knowing the interaction between learning models and SAVI learning styles (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intelectually) on mathematical reasoning abilities learners. This research uses the Quasy Experiment Design method. The results obtained from this study are that learning by using Novick's learning model is more effective against mathematical reasoning for students, there is no interaction between Novick's learning model and SAVI learning style on mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

The study describes and analyzes the use of corporate marketing communication strategies towards Higher Education at the international level. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, with the research site at IAIN Tulungagung. The research subjects are members of the academic community, teaching staff, education staff and stakeholders. The research period was for the 2018/2019 academic year. The results showed that the typology of the marketing or promotion model used collaboration between internal parties (academics, stakeholders) and external parties (institutions, channel partners, media, government, industrial bodies and institutions, the educational community and the general public). Its implementation uses corporate advertising, sponsorship, sales presentations, online activities, branding, corporate advertising, press releases, press conferences, events, and awards. The study implications deal with the increase in: (1) Higher Education Identity, Image, Reputation; (2) Higher Education Social Responsibility (CSR); (3) media relation effectiveness; (4) more efficient marketing communications; (5) the more intensive Internal Communication System; (6) investor relation improvement; (7) conducive relations with the Government, and (8) the reliability in overcoming crisis communication. These have an impact on improving the quality of IAIN Tulungagung toward the level of International Higher Education.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the concept and systematic construction of the Islamic moderation curriculum in Islamic boarding schools; explore the intellectual network of the Lirboyo Kediri and Krapyak Yogyakarta Pesantren. the conclussion say that the researcher formulates a model for the dissemination of religious moderation thoughts that are broadcast to the public. This study uses a qualitative sociological phenomenological approach, data is collected using the participant observation method and independent interview, so that this research is carried out in depth, intensively, and in detail on the phenomena that occur in educational institutions such as Pesantren. The results of this study are, first, the construction of the curriculum of the Lirboyo Kediri and Krapyak Pesantren Yogyakarta is to maintain the values of Salafiyah and Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah’s faith so that santri have been equipped with basic knowledge about the concept of moderate Islamic teaching. Second, the intellectual network of the Lirboyo Kediri and Krapyak Yogyakarta Pesantren has a continuous chain of knowledge and is figure mainded (a person learns from whom) so that these Pesantren have become pillars of moderate Islamic teachers in Indonesia who have become important exponents of the spread of Ahlussunnah wal jamaah understanding. Moderate, tolerant, and inclusive point of view. Third, the dissemination of religious moderation in Lirboyo and Krapyak Pesantren is Islamic educational institution that is ‘anti radical’ which is integrated through its learning materials and method. The attitude or moral that are instilled in their daily lives as well as the forms of activities of the Pesantren including : seminar, talkshow, discussion, bahtsul masail, ta’lim assemblies and others, which are packed with traditions and the richness oh the diversity of the Indonesian nation, making Pesantren well accepted by the community and actually able to produce santri who have a wise and moderate character. Abstrak: Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan secara jelas konsep serta sistematika kontruksi kurikulum moderasi Islam di dalam pesantren; menggali jaringan intelektual pesantren Lirboyo Kediri dan Krapyak Yogyakarta; dan pada kesimpulannya peneliti merumuskan model diseminasi pemikiran moderasi keagamaan yang disyiarkan kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif sosiologis fenomonologis, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode partisipant observation serta indepedent interview, sehingga penelitian ini dikerjakan secara mendalam, intensif, dan terinci atas fenomena yang terjadi pada lembaga pendidikan berupa pesantren. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Pertama, Konstruksi kurikulum pondok pesantren Lirboyo Kediri dan Krapyak Yogyakarta adalah tetap mempertahankan nilai-niai salafiyah dan akidah Ahlusunnah Wal Jamaah sehingga santri yang berada di dalamnya telah dibekali ilmu-ilmu dasar mengenai konsep ajaran Islam moderat; Kedua, jaringan intelektual pondok pesantren Lirboyo Kediri dan Krapyak Yogyakarta memiliki silsilah keilmuan (continuous chain of knowledge) dan figure mainded (seseorang itu belajar kepada siapa) sehingga pondok pesantren tersebut menjadi soko guru keislaman moderat di Indonesia yang menjadi eksponen penting penyebaran paham Ahlusunnah Wal Jamaah yang berpandangan moderat, toleran, dan inklusif; Ketiga, diseminasi moderasi keagamaan pondok pesantren Lirboyo dan Krapyak adalah sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang anti terhadap paham radikal yang diintegrasikan melalui materi dan metode pembelajarannya, sikap atau akhlak yang ditanamakan sehari-harinya serta bentuk- bentuk kegiatan pondok pesantrennya diantaranya: seminar, talkshow, diskusi, bahstsul masail, majelis ta'lim dan lain-lain, yang dikemas dengan tradisi dan kekayaan keberagaman bangsa Indonesia menjadikan pondok pesantren bisa diterima masyarakat secara baik serta secara nyata dapat mampu mencetak santri-santri yang memiliki watak arif, bijaksana serta moderat.

Abstract

Santri has been viewed as students who respect their kiai (teacher), parents and senior teachers, and might not able to think critically. The research aims to investigate efforts to foster students’ ethical critical thinking at pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in Kediri, East Java. This study uses a qualitative approach and sociological-phenemonological methods. Data obtained through observation and interviews. The research findings show that the patron-client pattern a pattern of relations between kiai and santri at pesantren can have both positive and negative impacts. The positive impact can be seen from the form of good relations and mutual respect between the kiai and students. Meanwhile, the negative impact refers to students’ fatalistic attitude towards life and an uncritical scientific view. Critical education in pesantren has practically been implemented even though partially. Education in pesantren is currently required to build an integrative educational paradigm by involving all human potential in fostering a critical, creative and democratic culture in addition to upholding ethics.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the school’s efforts to build its image to increase public interest. Determining the right choice of school for a child is the task of the community as prospective parents of students. Quality schools will certainly be sought after by the community, including elementary schools. Moreover, schools that have a good image with plus values such as Islamic education institutions that have advantages in general and religious education curricula. The concept of Islamic full day school applied by the school is proven to be able to build a good image of the school, so that it can attract public interest. For this reason, it becomes interesting to examine the success of the primary school work.  The approach used in this research is qualitative with the type of case study research, while the data source can be collected directly with a natural setting. This article concludes that to build its image, the school made five efforts: doing promotion so that schools can be more widely known by intensifying and extending school publications; creating competitive advantages in terms of service quality; managing facilities and infrastructure; managing teachers; and manage curriculum. These efforts have proven to increase public interest in sending their children to this elementary school.

Abstract

This study examines parental participation in educational institutions. Parents are the key to the success of a learning process at school because of their very important role, and the quality of educational institutions becomes superior if parents take part in the implementation of education. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a literature study method, researchers use several books, journals, and the results of recent observations as references. The findings reveal that parents' participation in improving the quality of educational institutions is because 1) the position of parents is very vital in educational institutions, including the results of their contributions in the form of thoughts, skills (certain expertise that a person has and can be applied in an activity), energy, property, and money. Then, the position of parents also plays a role in providing a conducive learning environment so that students can learn calmly and pleasantly; 2) synergy between schools and families (parents), and actively involved in assisting learning efforts and student development.

Abstract

Mastery of managerial skills, ability and orientation to plan, organize, communicate, motivate, direct and monitor continuously is an effort to improve the quality of schools to achieve student achievement, both academic and non-academic. There are several Islamic schools in Kediri which are proven to produce both academic and non-academic achievements which can be used as quality references for other schools. In this research, the managerial patterns of school principals will be studied in developing a quality culture in Islamic schools from three aspects of management; planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method and a phenomenological-naturalistic approach. The results of the research show that school principals in building a quality culture of achieving schools are: 1). Planning: establishing a vision and mission as quality guidelines, commitment to implementing SNP standard schools, a comfortable school service process, improving school quality as a result of a sustainable program; 2). Implementation: implementing the national curriculum and typical of the institution, educators and education staff who have appropriate qualifications, graduates are equipped with skills, there is representative infrastructure, transparent education management, the school has very close relations with the community, there are special services and learning support facilities. 3). Evaluation: carry out a self-evaluation of school performance based on transparency, accountability, efficiency and effectiveness, prepare a report on the results of the school's self-evaluation, and develop a priority scale for follow-up activities and programs.
