Abstract

This research aimed to identify the form of arguments in online media articles using argument reconstruction. The data were argumentative texts written in online media article in 2017 in www.hipwee.com, malesbanget.com, and www.idntimes.com. The data studied were 44 paragraphs consisting of 150 sentences. The approach used was qualitative approach by using content analysis method. This research used the triangulation technique (combination). The simultaneous data collection was coupled with data credibility tests with various data collection techniques and sources. Meanwhile, means of documentation and content analysis techniques were done to collect the data. The results indicate that the often used reasonings in online media articles are the generalization in 11 paragraphs and categorical syllogism in 28 paragraphs. The results of this research can be used to find out and develop ways of writing online media articles for writers and readers of online media articles.

Abstract

There have been several challenges in facing the era of industrial revolution 4.0. namely "Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and information (big data), cloud computing (cloud technology), internet, digital money (bitcoin), social media to data security are challenges that must be faced by college graduates today. Industry 4.0 holds a commitment to increase flexibility in manufacturing, in bulk, with better quality and productivity, resulting in rapid changes experienced by society, namely the rapid development of information technology that has a lot of impacts on human life both positive and negative. which is very strategic in the midst of its community, which must be able to provide enlightenment for the surrounding community, nation and state.

Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman yang dalam mengenai pendidikan karakter pada era indusrti 4.0. Karekter dalam era industri 4.0 dituangkan cara berpikir, cara bekerja, alat kerja dan kecakapan hidup. Cara berpikir mencakup kreativitas, berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, pengambilan keputusan dan belajar. Cara kerja mencakup komunikasi dan kolaborasi. Alat untuk bekerja mencakup teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (ICT) dan literasi informasi. Kecakapan hidup mencakup kewarganegaraan, kehidupan dan karier, dan tanggung jawab pribadi dan sosial. Nilai karekter tersebut ditumbuhkan melalui General EducationNilai-nilai yang ada pada General Education yaitu Core Values yang digunakan untuk menumbuhkan karakter dan mengarahkan perilaku yang mencakup (a) hormat, (b) keselarasan, (c) kepedulian, (d) integritas, (e) tanggung jawab, dan (f) ketangguhan. Lapisan kedua yaitu Social and Emotional Competencies yang terdiri atas self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship management, dan responsible decision-making. Lapisan ketiga adalah Skill related to citizenship.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi nilai perilaku yang benar yang merupakan salah satu fokus nilai humanistik yang ditinjau dari monolog, dialog, dan latihan dalam buku teks pelajaran bahasa Inggris SMA kelas X penerbit Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Data dikumpulkan melalui tahapan pembacaan buku teks secara seksama, mengidentifikasi, pengkodean, dan pengklasifikasian. Prosedur analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis isi oleh Philip Marying. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) nilai perilaku yang benar yang mendominasi ditinjau dari teks latihan adalah nilai kemampuan beretika dengan indikator pola aturan. (2) Nilai perilaku yang benar yang mendominasi ditinjau dari teks dialog adalah nilai kemampuan sosial dengan indikator hubungan baik. (3) Nilai perilaku yang benar yang mendominasi ditinjau dari teks monolog adalah nilai dalam kemampuan beretika dengan indikator ketekunan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai perilaku yang benar dengan kemampuan beretika pola aturan, ketekunan dan kemandirian belajar, serta kemampuan bersosial dengan indikator hubungan baik yang terdapat dalam teks monolog, teks latihan, dan teks dialog buku teks bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain the use of the DRTA method and the level of critical thinking in improving students' ability in editing scientific articles. The method used in this research is experimental research. The result shows that using the DRTA method affected the ability to edit scientific articles if it is in accordance to the students’ level of critical thinking (high and low). Learning outcomes of editing scientific articles of students who have high critical thinking scales are different from learning outcomes of editing scientific articles of students who have low level of critical thinking. Students who were treated with the DRTA Method had higher level of critical thinking and had significant differences from those who had low levels of critical thinking. The acquisition of the average score showed the students who studied with the DRTA method and had a high critical thinking level are 90.1, while the score of the students who had a low critical thinking level are 79.3.

Abstract

The research aimed to describe the forms of linguistic creativity of BIPA students at the morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques. The research data were 78 sentences written by BIPA students at Bina Nusantara University academic year 2020/2021. The results show that BIPA students’ sentences have linguistic creativity in the form of the morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels sentences. At the morphological level, the process of linguistic creativity in words is carried out by (1) inserting foreign terms into sentences, (2) using non-standard words, and (3) abbreviating words. While in phrases, linguistic creativity is done by (1) reversing the structure of the phrase, (2) forming nominal phrases with less common word pairs, and (3) forming nominal phrases by incorporating elements of student culture. At the syntactic level, linguistic creativity is carried out in the form of compiling compound sentences with the expansion of descriptions, expansion of objects, expansion of subjects, and expansion of predicates. At the semantic level, linguistic creativity is manifested in the form of the figure of speech: personification, simile, hyperbole, repetition, and metaphor.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Ahok’s leadership style in The Jakarta Post news of 2014-2015 editions. This is a qualitative research using a critical discourse analysis based on the Norman Fairclough’s model. In this research the ideology is analyzed in terms of discoursive and socio-cultural practices in the news. The research was analysed by finding out ideologies in discourse practices including texts production, ideologies, socio-cultural practices and attention to social cultural aspects. Leadership theories used in this research range from autocratic, democratic, liberal, bureaucratic to situational leadership styles. The research results show Ahok’s dominant autocratic leadership style in The Jakarta Post news of 2014-2015 editions. As The Jakarta Post was not neutral in fostering the ideology, many authors supported Ahok’s leadership ideology in the news. The socio-cultural practices delineate that Ahok’s autocratic leadership style and policies as a governor are unsuitable with socio-cultural spheres in Indonesia. Therefore, his leadership style got more contras than pros from the public. This research is expectedly useful for learners and readers in understanding and analyzing hidden intentions in a discourse, especially to open up the ideology of a leader. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan gaya kepemimpinan Ahok melalui berita di The Jakarta Post edisi 2014-2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kritis model Norman Fairclough. Ideologi dianalisis dalam bentuk praktik diskursif dan sosial budaya yang terdapat dalam berita. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan mencari ideologi yang terdapat dalam praktik diskursus, termasuk produksi teks, ideologi, praktik sosial budaya, dan perhatian terhadap aspek sosial budaya. Teori kepemimpinan yang digunakan, meliputi: gaya kepemimpinan otokratis, demokratis, liberal, birokratis, dan situasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan Ahok yang dominan dalam berita The Jakarta Post edisi 2014-2015 adalah otokratik. Hal ini karena The Jakarta Post tidak netral dalam mengembangkan ide-ide ideologis. Banyak penulis yang mendukung ideologi kepemimpinan Ahok yang tertuang dalam berita. Praktik-praktik sosial budaya menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan dan kebijakan Ahok yang otokratis tidak sesuai dengan lingkup sosial budaya di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, gaya kepemimpinan Ahok mendapat lebih banyak kontradiksi daripada penerimaan di kalangan masyarakat.

Abstract

This research examines forms of the hegemony of a patriarchal ideology in the public sphere towards women, especially female figures in the Hanauzumi novel by Junichi Watanabe. Hanauzumi's novel tells the story of Japanese women in the 19th century who often experience gender discrimination. The culture and tradition of Japanese society that adheres to and glorifies patriarchal ideology have limited the scope of women in the public sphere. This condition arises because of the leadership and power of men who get an agreement from a group that is hegemony, namely the women themselves. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with content analysis techniques. The data that is the object of this research are narratives and dialogues that identify forms of public patriarchal hegemony towards female leaders. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the form of public patriarchal hegemony in female characters in Hanauzumi's novels was the separation of work positions, wage differentiation, absence of women in important positions in the country, limited rights of women in law and politics, cases of physical and mental violence by men, women's limited education and oppression of women in the mass media. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji bentuk-bentuk hegemoni suatu ideologi patriarki di bidang publik terhadap perempuan, khususnya tokoh perempuan dalam novel “Hanauzumi” karya Junichi Watanabe. Novel “Hanauzumi” menceritakan kisah kaum perempuan Jepang di abad 19 yang sering mengalami diskriminasi gender. Budaya dan tradisi masyarakat Jepang yang menganut dan mengagungkan ideologi patriarki mengakibatkan ruang lingkup kaum perempuan di ranah publik menjadi terbatas. Kondisi ini muncul karena adanya kepemimpinan dan kekuasaan kaum laki-laki yang mendapat kesepakatan dari kelompok yang dihegemoni, yaitu kaum perempuan itu sendiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Data yang menjadi objek penelitian ini adalah narasi dan dialog yang mengidentifikasikan bentuk-bentuk hegemoni patriarki publik terhadap tokoh perempuan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa bentuk hegemoni patriarki publik pada tokoh perempuan dalam novel “Hanauzumi” berupa pemisahan posisi kerja, pembedaan upah, ketidakhadiran perempuan dalam posisi penting di negara, terbatasnya hak perempuan dalam bidang hukum dan politik, kasus kekerasan fisik dan mental oleh laki-laki, terbatasnya perempuan dalam pendidikan dan tertindasnya kaum perempuan dalam media massa.
