Abstract

In learning activities in the classroom, the problems that are often faced by elementary school students are low mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to explain the effect of the Problem Based Learning Learning model on the Mathematics learning outcomes of students at SDI Watu Wangka, Pacar District, West Manggarai Regency. This research is an experimental research using a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all students of SDI Watu Wangka, totaling 228 students, while the sample was 34 students of class IV. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling. The data analysis technique used statistical test using t-test. The results showed that the Problem-Based Learning model had a significant effect on the Mathematics learning outcomes of SDI Watu Wangka students. This can be seen from t0 > tα with a significant level of 0.05, which is obtained t0 = 2.12 and tα = 2.03 so that H0 is rejected or H1 is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model has a significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of SDI Watu Wangka students. That is, the mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught using the problem based learning model are higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught using conventional learning models.

Abstract

Many factors cause the inability of students to solve math problems, including the role of educators in the learning process and learning activities that do not familiarize students with practicing creative thinking. Students are also rarely encouraged and involved to develop thinking skills and analyze and solve mathematical problems, teachers apply learning models and methods that are less varied and do not train students to solve problems. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of the problem solving approach in learning mathematics in elementary school and how to develop mathematical problem solving skills for students in elementary school. This type of research is a literature study using documentation techniques in collecting data. The steps to analyze the data of this research are to reduce the data then present the data and draw conclusions or verify the data. The results showed that the problem solving approach was considered effective for: (1) improving student learning outcomes, activities and responses; (2) improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts and communication skills; (3) improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities; and (4) improve students' critical thinking skills. Efforts that can be made by teachers to develop mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students are (1) applying a problem solving approach in learning and understanding and implementing problem solving steps properly and systematically; (2) train students to solve problems; (3) constructing non-routine items; and (4) implementing HOTS-oriented learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the advantages of technology as a learning medium in increasing the learning motivation of elementary school students, and describe the forms of efforts of teachers in developing technology as an effective learning medium during Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research with library study. This research techniques were used: collect data, compile, use and interpret existing data.. The results showed that the advantages of learning medium technology were: 1) increasing interaction between teacher and students; 2) improving students' learning motivation; 3) facilitating teacers to deliver learning materials so that learning continues even if not done face-to-face; 4) As a medium of interaction between teachers and students during online learning; 5) Be a medium of information transfer and learning interaction during online learning; 6) encouraging educational innovation during Covid-19 pandemic; 7) Be effective and efficient, both as a product and a process to solve learning problems; 8) Learning medium are not only tools but also as parts, includes strategies and learning methods during Covid-19 pandemic. Sore teachers made various medium, including: 1) use technology devices as well as online media; 2) conduct information and communication technology training; 3) self-taught learning or self-learning about technology development; 4) increase self-potential especially in using technology as a learning medium, as well as applying more interesting methods or models of learning

Abstract

Literacy is a comprehensive process that involves knowledge, culture, and intelligence to develop new knowledge and add deep insights. According to the results of an international survey, elementary school students throughout Indonesia have literacy skills at the lowest level. So to develop students' literacy skills, here it is necessary to have a teacher's role to build students in a literacy culture. There are several roles of teachers in the literacy movement in schools, namely teachers as role models, teachers as motivators, teachers as facilitators and creators, providing facilities and infrastructure, and providing rewards and punishments. Some of these roles ensure that they can increase the literacy culture among students. Without the role of the teacher, it is impossible for a literacy culture to be embedded in students.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine strategies for using technology in integrative and collaborative learning after the Covid-19 pandemic by placing teachers as key actors. The scope of this research is limited to the Manggarai context as a field of analysis. This research is analytical-descriptive. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a constructivism paradigm. The data in this study were obtained from the results of literature studies and context analysis. The results of the study show that during the Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning models that rely on technological innovation are no longer an option as in previous times, but become an obligation. However, the integration of technology into distance learning is urgent. Many parties are not ready. Learning from this experience, the author recommends the need to develop a comprehensive technology adoption strategy in an integrative and collaborative learning model after the Covid-19 pandemic. This is important because post-Covid-19 pandemic we will face a “new normal” situation which is no longer the same as the situation before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The developed strategy needs to place the teacher as a key actor because technology cannot completely replace the teacher’s role. In the context of the Manggarai community, the implementation of the strategy needs to take into account the social, economic, cultural, and geographical conditions of the community.
