Abstract

Background: academic integrity violation occurs due to low self-control, self-efficacy and academic achievement which 10% and 90% respectively influenced by the penalty level given, peer influence, perception of materials and lecturers and other factors. Purpose: to determine the difference in academic integrity regarding responsibility and respect between undergraduate midwifery profession students and postgraduate midwifery science. Methods: comparative analytical observational research with cross sectional study approach and Chi-Square data analysis. Data collection was using Sue Roof questionnaire which contained violations of academic integrity. Results: perception of responsibility and respect with a value of p 0.023, opinion of responsibility and respect with a value of p 0.040, conduct of responsibility and respect with a value of p 0.011, commitment of responsibility and respect with a value of p 0.023 and sanctions of responsibility and respect with a p value of 0.027. Conclusion: The academic integrity value of undergraduate students is lower than postgraduate students; postgraduate students are more responsible and have respect; The level of awareness, experience and level of education makes postgraduate students have good integrity while pressure and self-ability are the reason undergraduate students commit academic cheating. Recommendation: it is expected that all parties will play a role in instilling the value of academic integrity in students and institutions to impose strict sanctions on violators of academic integrity.Keywords: academic integrity; midwifery students; respect; responsibilityABSTRAK Latar belakang: kecurangan integritas akademik terjadi karenarendahnya kontrol diri, efikasi diri dan prestasi akademik yang memiliki peran 10% dan 90% dipengaruhi oleh tingkat hukuman yang diberikan, pengaruh teman sebaya, persepsi terhadap materi dan dosen dan faktor lainnya. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui perbedaan integritas akademik terkait tanggung jawab dan menghormati antara mahasiswa S-1 profesi bidan dan S-2 ilmukebidanan. Metode: penelitian observasional analitik komparatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional study dan analisis data Chi-Square. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner Sue Roof tentang pelanggaran integritas akademik. Hasil:persepsi tanggung jawab dan menghormati dengan nilai p 0,023, opini tanggung jawab dan menghormati dengan nilai p 0,040, perilaku tanggung jawab dan menghormati dengan nilai p 0,011, komitmen tanggung jawab dan hormati dengan nilai p 0,023 dan sanksi tanggung jawab dan menghormati dengan nilai p 0.027. Kesimpulan: Nilai integritas akademik S-1 lebih rendah dari S-2; Mahasiswa S-2 lebih bertanggung jawab dan memiliki rasa hormat; Faktor tingkat kesadaran, pengalaman dan tingkat pendidikan menjadikan mahasiswa S-2 memiliki integritas yang baik sedangkan tekanan dan kemampuan diri menjadi alasan mahasiswa S-1 melakukan kecurangan akademik. Saran: diharapkan semua pihak ikut berperan dalam menanamkan nilai integritas akademik pada mahasiswa dan pihak institusi memberikan sanksi yang tegas bagi pelanggar intgeritas akademik.Kata kunci: integritas akademik; tanggung jawab; menghormati; mahasiswa kebidanan

Abstract

Penalaran klinis (clinical reasoning) merupakan suatu keterampilan khusus yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang tenaga kesehatan salah satunya adalah perawat. Seorang perawat harus memiliki kemampuan penalaran, sehingga dapat mengambil tindakan yang tepat. Metode  Pembelajaran PBL  dapat menjadi strategi pengajaran yang efektif yang dapat digunakan dalam pendidikan klinis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran klinis mahasiswa keperawatan. Oleh karena itu PBL dapat meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran klinis mahasiswa keperawatan dengan menggunakan pendekatan pengajaran yang dikembangkan dengan baik melibatkan kegiatan pembelajaran PBL. Tujuan dari penulisan ini untuk menjelaskan konsep dasar penalaran klinis, proses penalaran klinis dan bagaimana pengaruh PBL terhadap penalaran klinis. Kata Kunci : Penalaran Klinis, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Waktu terus beijalan demikian pula proses pendidikan terus berkembang sesuai kemajuan zaman, sehingga metode pembelajaran yang menempatkan mahasiswa ialam posisi pasif atau teacher centered sudah tidak sesuai lagi untuk menghadapi 3ntangan ke depan yang lebih berat bagi calon-calon dokter. Metode pembelajaran tradisionil yang selama ini banyak digunakan dalam proses pendidikan dokter di Indonesia mungkin perlu diinovasi dalam beberapa hal agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dan tuntutan perkembangan zaman. Inovasi dalam pendidikan tidak hanya dalam hal metode saja tapi juga dalam banyak hal. Inovasi tidak harus dengan merubah secara total kurikulum pendidikannya ataupun metode pembelajarannya tetapi bisa dilakukan secara bertahap atau parsial disesuaikan dengan kemampuan institusi baik dalam hal sarana, biaya, SDM, dll.

Abstract

Problem based learning atau PBL, suatu metode pembelajaran yang sedang dikembangkan di institusi kedokteran di Indonesia saat ini, mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat. Namun demikian, dalam rangka pengembangan tersebut perlu kiranya kita melihat bagaimana PBL di institusi lain yang sudah eslablishedbaik di dalam negeri maupun di luar negeri. Untuk menambah wacana dan mengambil pengalaman yang mungkin dapat diterapkan di masing-masing institusi kita maka pada editorial ini disampaikan pengalaman mengikuti kegiatan PBL yaitu advanced course PBL di Maastricht belum lama ini. Maastricht sebagai salah satu universitas rujukan untuk pembelajaran PBL sudah menerapkan PBL sejak 1974 yaitu sejak berdirinya Fakultas Kedokteran. Fakultas lain seperti psikologi, ilmu kesehatan, ekonomi, arsitek, hukum dan ilmu lainnya semua menggunakan PBL sebagai metode pembelajarannya. Sehingga bila kita melihat baik kurikulum, proses pelaksanaan, SDM (mahasiswa, staff) dan semua fasilitas yang menunjang PBL di Maastricht sudah begitu sempurna.

Abstract

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) exert its action through inhibition of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis. These drugs act by inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) which involved in PG synthesis. COX-lwhich is involv in PG synthesis may maintains normal gastric mucosa and influences kidney function. COX-2 a COX-1 homolog which is induced by inflammatory stimulan is inhibited by NSAIDs. The anti-inflammatory actions of NSAIDs are due to the inhibition of COX-2, whereas the unwanted side effects such as irritation of the stomach lining and toxic effect on the kidney are due to inhibition of the COX-1. In the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, using NSAIDs with selective COX-2 inhibition show effective benefit with minimal gastrointestinal side effect.Obat analgesik anti-inflamasi nonsteroid (AINS) bekerja menghambat enzim cyclooxygenase (COX) sehingga sintesis prostaglandin (PG) juga terhambat. COX- 1 yang terlibat dalam sintesis PG dapat mempengaruhi fungsi ginjal dan pertahanan mukosa lambung, sehingga hambatan pada COX-1 oleh obat AINS dapa: menyebabkan timbulnya efek samping pada lambung dan ginjal. COX-2 suatu ho¬molog COX-1 terinduksi pada keadaan inflamasi dapat dihambat oleh obat AINS. Oleh karena itu obat AINS yang selektif menghambat COX-2 akan lebih menguntungkan terapi penyakit inflamasi seperti osteoartritis karena efek samping pada saluran cerna dan ginjal dapat dicegah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Critical thinking is an important competency to be developed during the nursing education process. Critical thinking is needed by nurses to make clinical decisions related to problems experienced by patients. However, several studies mention the tendency and critical thinking ability of nursing students is still low. One effort to overcome this is by applying learning methods that enable students to learn actively such as the 5E cycle learning method with CBL. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the integration of learning cycle 5E with CBL on students' thinking tendencies. The research design used was a Quasy experiment with a pre test post test with control group approach. The research sample was 21 students 5th semester of Nursing Unipdu Jombang as a treatment group and 19 students of Nursing study at the Health Development Program Mojokerto PPNI as a control group. Data analysis techniques used were paired t-test and Independent t-test. The results showed there were significant differences in the tendency of critical thinking both in the treatment group and the control group before and after the intervention was given with a value of p = 0.001 for the treatment group and p = 0.004 for the control group. There is a significant influence on the integration of the 5E cycle learning model with CBL on the tendency of critical thinking with a value of p = 0.043 (α≤0.05). Integration of the 5E cycle Learning model with CBL can increase the critical thinking tendency because it can activate the use of higher order thinking skills such as the ability to analyze, synthesize and draw conclusions. Thus the integration of the 5E and CBL cycle learning models can be used as an alternative learning method to increase students' critical thinking tendencies. Keywords : 5E Cycle Learning Model, Case Based Learning (CBL), Critical Thinking Trends

Abstract

The nursing profession requires scientific knowledge, technical abilities and skills. Choosing the right and best teaching method is the most important step in the education process. Role playing is a versatile activity that can facilitate students to learn in real situations. this is a teaching method that has strong and interesting potential to build the skills of nursing students in triage education. Research Objectives: To Provide information about the influence of role-playing method on triage education for nursing students. Method: Sources of research were taken from 3 databases namely PubMed, ProQuest and Ebsco and from Google Scholar using keywords "Role play" or "Role Playing" and "Learning Method" and "Nurse" and "Triage". From the overall results, there are 9 articles that match the inclusion criteria. Results: The 9 articles included in this review. The learning method with role playing influences the nursing students’ communication, cognitive, psychomotor, self reflection, critical thinking and self-efficacy in doing triage process. Conclusion: Role-playing method can facilitate and accommodate increased knowledge and skills. The role-playing method is proven to be able to improve communication, cognitive, psychomotor, self reflection, critical thinking and self-efficacy in nursing triage education. Abstract

Uji Kompetensi Ners Indonesia (UKNI) merupakan capaian akhir mahasiswa keperawatan untuk dinyatakan status mereka sebagai perawat yang kompeten atau tidak. Isu UKNI sebagai exit exam  semakin gencar disosialisasikan oleh Kemenristekdikti, akan tetapi saat ini angka kelulusan UKNI masih kecil. Kecilnya angka kelulusan UKNI menjadi ancaman yang besar seperti peningkatan pengangguran, keterlambatan kelulusan, hingga kalahnya persaingan perawat Indonesia terhadap perawat luar negeri. Saat ini belum ada ringkasan khusus mengenai faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kelulusan UKNI. Literature Review ini betujuan mengetahui faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kelulusan UKNI. Literature Review dilakukan dengan mesin pencari Google Schoolar. Terdapat 6 artikel jurnal yang dianalisis setelah melewati proses inklusi. Hasil analisis menyatakan bahwa persiapan dan pelaksanaan UKNI memiliki faktor-faktor dalam menentukan kelulusan UKNI.

Abstract

Background: Identifying the barriers faced by graduate nurses become one of the efforts of educational institutions and graduate nurses to evaluate the results of the low passing rate on Indonesian Nurses Competency Test (INCT). This study aims to analyze barriers of graduated nurses from Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Jember to face INCT.  Methods: The method used is descriptive method with qualitative approach that involves 6 people graduate nurses Faculty of Health Sciences, University of MuhammadiyahJember who did not pass INCT. Data obtained through focus group discussions and then analyzed by constant comparative method.  Results: The results showed that the barriers of graduated nurses in the face of INCT consists of theimproper execution time of INCT, unfocused learning process, confusion, anxiety, an inadequate knowledge of INCT, the hesitation in the answer, the computer screen’s brightness, and an error computers.  Conclusion: The results indicate that there are obstacles in the preparatory phase and during the implementation INCT that affect the success rate of graduate nurses in INCT.

Abstract

The incidences of pneumonia in infants Become the second highest cause mortality before reaching the age of 5 years and a health problem in Indonesia. The family of smoking and smoke from burning mosquito coils are the triggers for air pollution, which can lead to pneumonia in infants. The study aims to analyze the relationship between family smoking habits and the use of mosquito coils with the incidence of pneumonia in under-fives. The method of research applied analytic observational research using a case-control study approach. The number of samples in this study was 87 under-fives in the case group and 87 under-fives in the control group. Sampling was conducted by non-probability sampling. A questionnaire was used as a data collecting instrument. Data analysis used chi-square and multiple logistic regression. The results of this study Showed that there was a relationship between family smoking habits and the use of mosquito coils with the incidence of pneumonia in infants. In addition, there were other variables that had a relationship with the incidence of pneumonia in under-fives namely smoking location (OR = 3,046; 95% CI: 1429-6492, p = 0.003), the number of cigarettes (OR = 7.105 ; 95% CI: 3079-16394, p = 0.000), and length of time with smokers (p = 0.000). On the other hand, the variables of father smoker status and the frequency of using mosquito coils were not related to the incidence of pneumonia in under-fives (p value 0.05). It is concluded that family smoking habits, use of mosquito coils, the location of smoking, and number of cigarettes, and  length of time together with smokers were risk factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers
