Abstract

Banjir sering menimbulkan masalah kesehatan terutama pada anak. Hal ini diperparah dengan buruknya pola Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) pada masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui Pengetahuan Dan Skill Guru dan  personal hygiene siswa setelah diberikan edukasi. Penelitian dilkukan pada tahun 2014. Desain penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan pre test dan post test. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN VII dan X Dayeuhkolot Bandung. Sampelnya adalah 24 guru  dan 288 siswa kelas 3-6 SDN VII dan SDN X Dayeuhkolot. Instrumen menggunakan quesioner, lembar observasi, dan lembar cek list. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat. Hasil menunjukan rerata personal hygiene siswa 77,78 sebelum intervensi meningkat jadi 89,54 (pv= 0.001). Rerata tingkat pengetahuan guru sebelum intervensi 52, rerata skill CTPS 64,17. Setelah intervensi mengalami peningkatan rerata tingkat pengetahuan menjadi 97, rerata skill CTPS 97,92 (pv= 0.001). Simpulan penelitian, ada perbedaan bermakna rerata pengetahuan dan skill guru serta personal hygiene siswa sebelum dan setelah periode intervensi. Floods often cause health problems especially in children. This is aggravated by poor pattern Clean and Healthy Lifestyle/ PHBS in the community. The aim is to determine the effect of education on knowledge, skill of  the teachers and hygiene of the elementary school students. The study conducted at 2014. The study was a quasi-experimental of pre-test and post-test design. The study was conducted in elementary school VII and X Dayeuhkolot. The sample is 24 teachers and 288 students in grades 3 to 6. The instrument used quisionare, observation sheet, and a check list sheet. Univariate and bivariate analysis was used to analyze the data. The mean score of personal hygiene students increased from77.78 to 89.54 (pv = 0.001). The mean score of teacher knowledge increased from 52 to 97 (pv = 0.001). The mean score of skill in teacher increased from 64.17 to 97.92 (pv = 0.001). Conclusion: This study found a significant differences of mean the knowledge and skill on teachers and personal hygiene students before and after the intervention (p = 0.001).

Abstract

Introduction: Disabled children encounter physical and/or mental hindrance that interferes the normal growth and development. Children with disability have lower oral hygiene level compared to normal children, hence a thorough dental treatment for these children are very important. The Indonesia’s Health Minister’s regulation number 89 in 2015 has become one of the references in performing dental treatment for the disabled children. Methods: This study was a descriptive study by using questionnaire to gather the data. Results: This study showed 69,73% of the dentists at Primary Health Service in Bandung were aware of the government regulation about the primary health service for children with disability. Discussion: Preventive and curative efforts are necessary regarding the fact that disabled children have higher level of poor oral hygiene than normal children. The sufficient category shows that the dentists in primary health center need additional information and knowledge to identify the children with disability. Conclusion: The dentist knowledge of the oral health service for children with disability in primary service based on Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia regulation number 89 in 2015 is sufficient regarding the percentage of 69,73%.

Abstract

Introduction: The need of dental care is defined as a collection of dental and oral treatment in which according to dental personnel should be obtained by a certain period in order to achieve good dental health status. According to WHO, the productive age is the age group between 35-44 and is considered as the standard age for checking the adult oral health condition. The objective of this research was to obtain the necessity of oral health data at productive age in Cilayung village. Method: The research method was descriptive with cluster sampling technique. Samples of 80 respondents were obtained by pathfinder surveys technique. The necessity of dental care was assessed using WHO oral health surveys and the dental condition of respondents were checked using mouth glass. Result: The results shows that the highest number of caries prevention is as many as 80 people (100%) and the need for one surface treatment as many as 75 people (93.75%). Conclusion: The research concluded that the people in Cilayung village is in high need of caries and surface treatment.

Abstract

Oral hygiene index can be influenced by behaviour factor. Behavior has three domain consist of knowledge, attitude, and practice. Knowledge will change the behaviour of society which next affects to oral hygiene index. The purpose of the research was to know the relationship between the dental health knowledge and oral and dental hygiene index of the deaf. The research was analytic with the cross-sectional method on 63 subjects on 3,4,5 and 6 level class at hearing impaired in Magelang, obtained using the total sampling. Evaluation of dental health knowledge was viewed from the questionnaire. Oral Hygiene Index-Simplified by Green dan Vermillion used to measured oral hygiene index. The research result showed that 65.08%of the deaf on 3,4,5 and 6 level class at hearing impaired in Magelang was in the good category, OHI-S was in the moderate category. Based on Chi-square test there was no significant relationship between the dental health knowledge and oral hygiene index of the deaf at hearing impaired in Magelang.

Abstract

Introduction: Environment and behaviour are the main factors affecting the health status of a human being. People living in high natural radiation exposure area (radon zone), which is as much as 85% of the air content, characterized by many presents of granite rocks. The village of Arjasari is an area with many granite rocks presence. The objective of this study was to determined the knowledge level of the elementary school students after education regarding natural background radiation and oral health care. Methods: The research was a descriptive survey research, with data sampling taken by using questionnaires towards as much as 150 elementary students. Previously, respondents were given first education regarding natural background radiation and oral health care. Instruments in this study using questionnaires that was tested for validation and reliabilities. Data analysis used was a descriptive survey technique processed by using computer program. Data was percentages of three rating categories, which were high, medium and low. Results: The results showed that the knowledge level of student regarding natural background radiation and oral health care. was as much as 14% in the high category; as much as 45% in the moderate category; and as much as 41% in the low category. Conclusion: Knowledge level of student after education about natural radiation and the effect of oral health was in the moderate category level.

Abstract

Introduction: Caries risk assessment is an effort performed to determine the causes of dental caries and the caries risk of the children. The purpose of the study was to determine the caries risk of pre-school children and the possible preventive home-treatment in reducing the risk. Methods: This research was descriptive with sampling method used was the total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Irene’s Donuts caries risk form to determine the caries risk and preventive treatment of the children. Caries risk assessment data was presented in the form of frequency distribution tables. Results: The first-year research resulted as follows: distribution of caries risk frequency based on the interview conducted towards the parents in Ulul Azmi and Amanah Kindergarten, regarding their education, age, children’s habits, showed that the highest risk (88.9%) in both kindergartens was found in children who still drink milk with pacifier bottles until more than four-years-old. The second highest risk amongst Ulul Azmi Kindergarten students (88.9%) was found in children with daily candy consumption; the highest risk amongst Arroyyan Kindergarten (90%) was tooth decay which considered not interfering the children’s development with the pH level below 6.5. Regarding the treatment choice of the students, the most choices taken amongst Ulul Azmi Kindergarten parents were helping their children brush their teeth at night before bedtime; assuring the children’s sufficient water consumption in Amanah Kindergarten parents; assuring the children’s vegetable and fruits contained menu in Arroyyan Kindergarten parents. Conclusion: The highest caries risk of pre-school children is tooth decay, with the possible preventive home-treatment, were helping the children to brush their teeth at night before bedtime, assuring the children’s sufficient water consumption, and assuring the children’s vegetable and fruits contained menu.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Stomatitis Aftosa Rekuren (SAR) dapat berdampak pada fungsi pengunyahan, penelanan dan bicara, sehingga akan mempengaruhi status gizi serta kualitas hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran kualitas hidup pasien dengan inflamasi mukosa mulut (SAR) di RSGM FKG Unpad. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan jumlah responden 32 pasien inflamasi mukosa mulut (SAR) di RSGM FKG Unpad. Kuesioner yang diisi oleh responden diadaptasi dari WHO STEP wise Approach to Surveillance – Oral Health Module tahun 2001. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas hidup pasien dengan inflamasi mukosa mulut (SAR) di RSGM FKG Unpad adalah 43,8%, dengan rincian 33,6% untuk dimensi fungsi, 19,8% untuk dimensi psikologis, 21,9% untuk dimensi sosial, dan 100% untuk dimensi nyeri. Simpulan: Kualitas hidup pasien dengan inflamasi mukosa mulut (SAR) di RSGM FKG Unpad cukup berdampak pada dimensi psikologis, kurang berdampak pada dimensi sosial dan sangat berdampak. pada dimensi nyeri. ABSTRACTIntroduction: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) will impact on function of mastication, swallowing and speech, so it will affect the nutritional status and quality of life. The purpose of this research was to find out the quality of life patients with oral mucosal inflammation (RAS) in Dental Hospital at Faculty of Dentistry Padjadjaran University. Methods: This research used descriptive methods with respondent of 32 patients oral mucosal inflammation (RAS) in Dental Hospital at Faculty of Dentistry Padjadjaran University. Questionnaire adapted from WHO STEPwise Approach to Surveillance – Oral Health Module 2001 was filled out by respondent. Results: The result of this study indicate that the quality of life in patients oral mucosal inflammation (RAS) in Dental Hospital at Faculty of Dentistry Padjadjaran University is 43,8%, consisted of 33,6% for dimension of function, 19,8% for dimension of psychological, 21,9% for dimension of social, and 100% for dimension of pain. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study showed quality of life patients oral mucosal inflammation (RAS) in Dental Hospital at Faculty of Dentistry Padjadjaran University was in rather impact categorise.Keywords: Oral mucosal inflammation, quality of life, recurrent aphthous stomatitis.

Abstract

Pendahuluan:Orang tua sangat mendasari terbentuknya perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak. Orang tua dianggap memiliki pengetahuan untuk mengajarkan anaknya berbagai hal dasar mengenai menjaga kesehatan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku orang tua tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi pada anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri Mekarjaya. Metode:Penelitian ini merupakan penelitan deskriptif dengan metode survei berupa pengisian kuisioner. Metode pengambilan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh (total sampling). Sampel merupakan orang tua (Ibu) murid SDN Mekarjaya yang berjumlah 55 orang. Hasil:Perilaku orang tua tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi pada anak yang meliputi pengetahuan adalah sebesar 55% termasuk dalam kategori kurang baik, sikap sebesar 77,37% termasuk dalam kategori baik, dan tindakan sebesar 75,38% termasuk dalam kategori baik. Simpulan: Perilaku orang tua tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi pada anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri Mekarjaya yang meliputi pengetahuan pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi memperlihatkan hasil yaitu kurang baik sedangkan sikap dan tindakan dikategorikan baik.ABSTRACTIntroduction: Parents strongly underlie the formation of childrens oral health care behavior. Parents are considered to have the knowledge to teach their children various basic things about maintaining a healthy body. This study aims to determine the description of parents behavior about dental health maintenance in children of Mekarjaya State Elementary School. Methods: This research is a descriptive research with a survey method in the form of filling out a questionnaire. The retrieval method uses saturated sampling technique (total sampling). The sample is the parents (Mothers) of 55 Mekarjaya Elementary School students. Result: Parents behavior about dental health maintenance in children which includes knowledge is 55% included in the unfavorable category, attitudes of 77.37% are in the good category, and actions of 75.38% are in the good category. Conclusion: Parents behavior about dental health maintenance in children of Mekarjaya Elementary School which includes knowledge of dental health maintenance shows results that are not good while attitudes and actions are categorized as good.Keywords: Behavior, parents, maintenance of dental health.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Tingkat kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa sekolah dasar di desa tertinggal dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, diantaranya faktor sosial ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa-siswi SDN Mekarjaya sebagai salah satu sekolah dasar di desa tertinggal Kabupaten Bandung. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pengambilan sampel berdasarkan teknik sampling jenuh (total sampling). Sampel penelitian sebanyak 78 siswa sekolah dasar, yaitu 40 siswa laki-laki dan 38 siswa perempuan. Oral Hygiene Index-Simplified (OHI-S) digunakan untuk melihat tingkat kebersihan gigi dan mulut. Hasil: rata-rata indeks kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa SDN Mekarjaya, Kabupaten Bandung sebesar 2,67. Simpulan: tingkat kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa SDN Mekarjaya, Kabupaten Bandung dalam kategori sedang. ABSTRACTIntroduction: The level of dental and oral hygiene of elementary school students in disadvantaged villages is influenced by various factors, including socioeconomic factors. This study aims to determine the level of dental and oral hygiene in Mekarjaya Elementary School students as one of the elementary schools in the underdeveloped village of Bandung Regency. Methods: This type of research is descriptive with sampling based on saturated sampling technique (total sampling). The study sample consisted of 78 elementary school students, namely 40 male students and 38 female students. Oral Hygiene Index-Simplified (OHI-S) is used to see the level of dental and oral hygiene. Result: the average index of dental and oral hygiene for students of SDN Mekarjaya, Kabupaten Bandung amounted to 2.67. Conclusion: the level of dental and oral hygiene of students of SDN Mekarjaya, Kabupaten Bandung is in the moderate category.Keywords: OHI-S, underdeveloped village, socio-economic.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak usia 4-5 tahun penting untuk diperhatikan. Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut dapat menyebabkan rasa sakit dan tidak nyaman sehingga berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup anak. Kesehatan gigi dan mulut terkait kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen The Early Childhood Oral Impat Scale (ECOHIS). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran kesehatan gigi dan mulut terkait kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun di Desa Cilayung. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah ibu yang mempunyai anak berusia 4-5 tahun yang terdaftar sebagai siswa TK Al-Iffah dan RA Rahayu di desa Cilayung dengan jumlah 50 orang yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengisian data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner The Early Childhood Oral Impact Scale (ECOHIS). Hasil: Masalah gigi dan mulut selama 3 bulan terakhir paling banyak yang dilaporkan oleh orang tua adalah Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Simpulan: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut terkait kualitas hidup anak usia 4-5 tahun di Desa Cilayung termasuk dalam kategori cukup berdampak. ABSTRACTIntroduction: The oral health of children aged 4-5-years-old is very important issues. Oral health problems can cause pain and discomfort that cause a negative impact on the quality of life of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the oral health related to the quality of life of children aged 4-5-years-old in Cilayung Village. Methods: This research was descriptive research. The research sample was mothers with children aged 4-5-years-old children who were registered as Al-Iffah Kindergarten and Rahayu Islamic Kindergarten students of Cilayung village, with the total of 50 people, which obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data was filled using the Early Childhood Oral Impact Scale (ECOHIS) questionnaire. Results: The most frequent oral problems reported were Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Conclusion: Oral health related to the quality of life of children aged 4-5-years-old in Cilayung Village was included in the category of moderate impact.Keywords: 4-5-years-old children, oral health related quality of life, ECOHIS.
