Abstract

The problem that still often arises during learning is that the use of learning models by teachers is less varied. The learning strategy used by the teacher is inappropriate. In fact, it is not uncommon to find a learning process that is only teacher-centered. Many students are less daring to ask questions and give opinions and look bored during the learning process. This happens because teachers rarely use learning models, only refer to books, still use the lecture method and use less varied media. This results in students having low interest and learning competencies. This research was conducted at 4th Pariaman Middle School. This study included quasi-experimental research because variables cannot be fully controlled. The population in this study were all VII grade students of 4 Pariaman Junior High School who were registered in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Sampling uses purposive sampling technique, so class VII5 is chosen as the control class and VII4 as the experimental class. The data of this study include knowledge competencies, attitude competencies, and skills competencies. Based on the results of the competency knowledge data analysis of students, the value of tcount = 2.95> t table = 1.71, in the attitude competency the value of t count = 3.09> t table = 1.71, and in the competency skill the value t = 1.72> t table = 1.71. The conclusion of this study is the application of Cooperative Learning model type Non-Example Example about the material of global warming has a meaningful influence on the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VII students of SMP 4 Pariaman.

Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aims to see the influence of Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model on the motivation of students on immune system material at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP academic year 2018/2019. The implementation of this study does not allow researchers to control variables as a whole so that this study belongs to the quasi-experimental category with the design of control group posttest only design. Sampling in this study used saturation sampling technique. The technique of data analysis used statistical tests, namely the t test. The results of statistical tests showed that in a significant term (α = 0.05) the value of tcount> t tableis obtained, which is 3.28 > 1.67, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the motivation of students using the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model is higher than the motivation of students who use conventional learning. It can be interpreted that there is an influence of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model on the motivation of students on immune system material at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP.

Abstract

Biological learning requires students to carry out observations in practical activities as a form of understanding concepts. Based on observations of researchers in class XI of SMAN 3 and SMAN 7 Padang, it was found that the school had carried out practical activities well on biology learning, but students had difficulty in practicing plant tissue. Students do not find clear observations, students are less skilled in using microscopes and making plant preparations, some microscopes have moldy lenses, and the availability of valid practicum media is not available and contains photos of observations of plant tissue, so observing plant tissues what was done did not run smoothly. This research is a development research. The research subjects were 28 students, one teacher, and three lecturers. The instruments used in this study were interview guides and validity questionnaires. Based on the research conducted, products have been produced in the form of Atlas of Plant Networks for SMA / MA. Validity test results with an average value of 3.73. with very valid criteria in terms of the feasibility of content, language and readability, and presentation. So that the Atlas of the Body Network can be said to be a valid media.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum encourages students to be more active and independent when getting information about learning materials. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to increase students' learning motivation, one of which is by developing learning media that can attract students' learning interest. The purpose of this study was to see the needs of students for learning media with ESQ nuances about bacteria as a supplement to biology teaching materials for class X science SMAN 2 Payakumbuh. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The method used to collect data was done through distributing questionnaires to class XII students and interviewing two teachers, namely a biology teacher and an Islamic religious education teacher. In addition, the daily test results obtained by students were also used as data in this study. The results of the study revealed that students had difficulty in understanding biology learning about bacterial material due to the difficulty of observing micro learning objects plus less supportive learning media where the images on the learning media were of very low quality and colorless. This results in a lack of student motivation in participating in the learning process. For that we need a learning media that is easy to understand and has high quality images so that it can be studied independently by students.

Abstract

Multiple Intelligences (MI) is a theory about intelligence that was triggered by Dr. Howard Gardner, a figure in education and psychology. a person's intelligence suddenly is not measured by the results of a standard psychological test, but can be seen from a person's habits on two things. First, someone's habits solve their own problems (problem solving). Second, a person's habits create new products that have cultural values (creativity). MI-based learning is a learning process in which when the teacher wants to teach a learning material, the teacher teaches according to the tendency of students' learning styles, because in a classroom there are several students who each have different MIs. The intelligence consists of nine levels of intelligence and is known as the Multiple Intelligences (MI) which includes: 1) linguistic intelligence, 2) mathematical-logical intelligence, 3) visual spatial intelligence, 4) physical-kinesthetic intelligence, 5) musical intelligence, 6 ) interpersonal intelligence, 7) intrapersonal intelligence, 8) naturalist intelligence, and 9) existential. Many benefits can be obtained by knowing the level of MI of students, both for schools, teachers, and students themselves. MI for students is also influenced by several factors, including; innate factors; environmental factor; and maturity factors, this maturity factor related with people age.

Abstract

Multiple Intelligences (MI) is a theory about intelligence that was triggered by Dr. Howard Gardner, a figure in education and psychology. Multiple Intelligences consist of linguistic intelligence, logic-mathematical intelligence, visual-spatial intelligence, gesture intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, naturalist intelligence. Everyone has MI at different levels. Therefore, each teacher should be able to understand the intelligence and abilities of each student well, this is because the conditions of students in the class are different and have different levels of intelligence. This is in accordance with the role of the teacher as a motivator, facilitator, and director. Many benefits can be obtained by knowing the level of MI of students, both for schools and for students themselves. some of the benefits of MI for students and schools, for students if the MI level is known it can increase their self-confidence and help students to choose majors. For schools the level of MI that students have can help teachers focus more on the learning process, helping to group students, can approach students according to the type of intelligence they have. In addition, by knowing the level of MI of students, teachers can develop optimally the potential that exists in students and can choose the right strategy in the learning process. From the results of observations at SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam Padang Pariaman it can be seen that there is no meaningful relationship between the MI overall and MI partially with the learning outcomes
