Abstract

This study aims to determine student’s perceptions of  SMAN 2 Painan, because it has not been examined how students think about practicum. The type of research is descriptive and used  quantitative approachment. The population of this study was class XI sain of SMA 2 Painan with propotional random sampling technique. The sample was 60 students.Thedatacollection techniqethrough representatives, observation and, questionnaires. The results showed that the practicum preparation of students was good74.80%, the implementation of students was very good  83.00% and the practical closing stage of students was good 79.00%.

Abstract

This research was aims to determine the response of jabon seed germination  toward duration of combustion and light. This research was conducted from January to June 2018 at the Biology Laboratory and FMIPA UNP greenhouse. The design used was RAL with 2 factors. The first factor is the duration of combustion and the second factor is the light treatment. Based on the design obtained 10 treatment combinations and each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there are 30 units of experiment. Parameter observed is the number of seeds  germination. The results showed that light treatment, combustion duration treatment, and interaction between combustion duration and light give good effect on the number of seeds  germination. The seeds with the combustion treatment for 15 (A2) minutes had the highest number of sprouts that was 342.83 sprouts per 0.2 gram of jabon seeds. For light factor, many seeds germinate on the shelter treatment (B2) of 349.59 seeds per 0.2 gram of seed. While the combination of treatments showed that the best number of seeds germinated was in the combustion treatment 12.5 minutes with germination in the sheltered place (A1B2) that produced 564.67 sprouts per 0.2 gram of seed.

Abstract

Jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba [Roxb] Miq.) Is a type of wood that is fast growing and has adaptability in various habitat types. Anatomical characteristics of wood are strongly influenced by environmental factors. This study looked at the dimensions of fiber and the derivative value of jabon wood fiber from the Sialang Dharmasraya and Tabing Padang regions. This research is a descriptive research. Observation of fiber dimensions using wood maceration techniques following the Forest Products Laboratory Method. The results showed that the value of wood fiber dimensions from the Sialang area was higher than those from the Tabing area. In Sialang it has wood fiber length of 603.82-1061.23µm, fiber diameter of 12.37-21.22µm, lumen diameter of 3.81-12.97µm, and wall thickness of 2.75-7.49µm. Whereas, in the Tabing area it has wood fiber length of 592.91-844.38µm, fiber diameter 11.80-20.35µm, lumen diameter 6.14-14.35m, and wall thickness of 1.91-4.54µm. The derivative value of jabon Tabing wood fiber is higher (runkel ratio 0.63-0.62, felting power 41.49-50.25, flexibility ratio 0.70-0.52, coefficient of rigidity 0.22-0.16 and mulsteph ratio 50.27-72.92%) compared to Sialang area (runkel ratio 1.15-1.44, felting power 50.01-48.81, flexibility ratio 0.61-0.30, coefficient of rigidity 0.35-0.22, and mulsteph ratio 62.64 to 90.51%). The quality value of jabon wood fiber at Tabing is better than Sialang. The results of this study can be used as information in jabon wood cultivation.

Abstract

Wahana hiburan di Mega Mendung di Nagari Singgalang merupakan objek wisata di Sumatera Barat yang paling dikunjungi oleh wisatawan terutama pada musim libur. Wahana yang berupa pemandian termasuk water sport beresiko untuk terpeleset dan tenggelam.Banyaknya kasus tenggelam akan beresiko terjadi henti nafas dan henti jantung sehingga tidak terselamatkan nyawa salah satu penyebabnya adalah ketidakmampuan petugas di wahana Mega Mendung dalam keterampilan melakukan tindakan Banduan Hidup Dasar (BHD). Tim pengabdian jurusan biologi FMIPA UNP bekerjasama dengan berbagai mitra Wali Nagari Singgalang dan narasumber serta instruktur dari Perhimpunan Dokter Umum (PDUI) Sumatera Barat dan Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia (PPNI) Sumatera Barat telah melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan memberikan Pelatihan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) bagi Petugas Wahana Hiburan Mega Mendung Nagari Singgalang.Kegiatan ini telah dilakukan wahana hiburan Mega Mendung pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2019. Peserta adalah petugas penjaga dan masyarakat sekitar di wahana hiburan Mega Mendung Nagari Singgalang sebanyak 30 orang.Tahapan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan adalah Seminar tentang pengetahuan pentingnya Keterampilan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) bagi petugas wahana Mega Mendung diberikan oleh narasumber Perhimpunan Dokter Umum (PDUI) cabang Sumatera Barat, pelatihan keterampilan Bantuan Hidup Dasar BHD yang di bimbing oleh Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia (PPNI) cabang Sumatera Barat dan monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan dalam jangka waktu 2 bulan setelah seminar dan pelatihan diatas dengan menilaian hasil dari pelatihan keterampilan BHD dan post test untuk mengetahui pemahaman terhadap materi yang telah diberikan. Hasil didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petugas Wahana Hiburan Mega Mendung Nagari Singgalang setelah diberikan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD). Diharapkan melalui PKM ini, masyarakat dan petugas wahana hiburan pemandian sekitar Mega Mendung terampil dalam memberikan BHD sehingga dapat menurunkan resiko mortalitas akibat kecelakaan pada aktivitas wisatawan.

Abstract

Hydroponic cultivation using a wick system is one of the techniques used to increase the production of spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.). One of the disadvantages of hydroponics is the occurrence of nutrient deposition, to reduce nutrient deposition in the wick system is to apply nanotechnology to break down particles in the planting medium and nutrients used, that the particles become smaller and more easily absorbed by plants, and reduce precipitation in the wick system. This research was conducted using the RAL method (Completely Randomized Design) which consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replications and namely Control (Well water + AB Mix), P1 (Nano technology water + 100% AB Mix), P2 (nano technology water + 25% POC+75% AB Mix), P3 (nano technology water+50% POC+50% AB Mix), P4 (nano technology water+75% POC+25% AB Mix), P5 (nano technology water+100% POC). The data obtained were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA) and followed by the DMRT test at 5% level. The results of this study are that there is an effect of the use of nano technology liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of spinach which can be seen in the highest plant at P2 with 29.975 cm, the highest number of leaves is at P2 with 34 leaves, the highest leaf area is in the control with 13,71 cm2, the wet weight the highest was on P1 with 17 gr, the highest dry weight was on P2 with 1.3 gr. The use of nano technology liquid organic fertilizer has an influence on the growth of green spinach which is cultivated hydroponically.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of agriculture in which earth is not used. Among the plants amenable to hydroponic cultivation is red lettuce. One disadvantage of hydroponic cultivation is the occurrence of nutrient deposition, particularly in the wick system, where the nutrient water does not move. A technique that can lessen the amount of nutrient deposition that occurs in hydroponic systems is required in light of the aforementioned issues. Nanotechnology is one of the technologies developed. The five treatments and four replications in this study were P1 = AB Mix 100 percent, P2 = AB Mix 75 percent + POC Nano 25 percent, P3 = AB Mix 50 percent + POC Nano 50 percent, P4 = AB Mix 25 percent + POC Nano 75 percent, and P5 = POC Nano 100 percent. ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) was used to analyze the data, and the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test at level 5 followed. The effects of nanotechnology-enhanced liquid organic fertilizer on red lettuce growth, including height, leaf area, number of leaves, fresh weight, and dry weight, were examined. The highest average plant is at P3 with a plant height of 36.42 cm, the highest average number of leaves is at P3 as many as 11.25 strands, the widest average leaf is at P4 with an area of ​​40.25 cm2, the average weight The highest wet weight was P4 with a weight of 17.01 g, and the highest average dry weight was P2 with a weight of 1.32 g.

Abstract

The most-high matter of COVID-19 in West Sumatera Province was found in Padang City. Some researchers argue that the environment greatly influences contagion of COVID-19. This research aims to anatomize the COVID-19 climate environment in Padang City in the period March 16th 2020 – May 20th 2022. The study used secondary data in the form of COVID-19 surveillance data, namely the number of patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 from the Padang City Health Office and the climate from the Meteorology and Climatology Agency of Padang City. Weather elements include maximum temperature (°C), minimum temperature (°C), average temperature (°C), humadity (%), and rainfall (mm). Data analysis used pearson correlation. The result of the study indicated that minimum temperature and rainfall had a significant relationship to positive matters of COVID-19 in Padang City which were marked with p-values of 0.004 and 0.

Abstract

Greening along roads can be an alternative solution to overcome air pollution in urban areas. Direct contact of plants with pollutant particles in the air will affect the condition of plants, especially on leaves. Knowledge of morphological characteristics and stomata on leaves that have the potential to absorb pollutants is the basis for understanding plant responses to environmental changes. This research is descriptive research conducted in September-December 2021 with leaf samples taken in the area of ​​PT Semen Padang, Padang State University, and Andalas University forests. Data were analyzed by t test level of 5%. The results showed that the morphological characteristics of trembesi leaves in the PT Semen Padang and Padang State University areas had significant differences in the aspects of the number of leaflets, leaf length, leaf width, not significantly different in the length of the mother petiole and the number of leaf branch bones and the characteristics of the stomata did not show any difference which is evident from the aspect of stomata length and stomata density. The morphological characteristics of trembesi leaves in the Padang State University and Andalas University forests showed significant differences in the length of the mother petiole, the number of leaflets, and the number of leaf veins, there was no significant difference in leaf length and leaf width and showed a significant difference in the aspect of stomata length, but did not show a significant difference in terms of stomata density. Morphological characteristics of trembesi leaves in the PT Semen Padang area and Andalas University forest showed significant differences in the length of the mother petiole, number of leaflets, leaf length, leaf width, and number of leaf veins and did not show significant differences in terms of stomata length and stomata density.

Abstract

Salah salah media yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi adalah media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning. Platform e-learning yang digunakan di SMA DEK yaitu Scola. Namun sampai saat ini belum diketahui bagaimana penerimaan peserta didik terhadap Scola. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan Perceived Usefulness (PU) dengan Behavioral Intention (BI) pada peserta didik pengguna Scola pembelajaran biologi di SMA DEK. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif korelasi menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan uji t setelah data diketahui terdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai PU yang didapatkan yaitu 74,06 %  dan nilai BI yaitu 70,90 % sehingga dikatakan dalam kategori tinggi. Nilai r yang didapatkan yaitu 0,78 dan nilai thitung yaitu 8,5 dibandingkan dengan ttabel 1,679 yang berarti bahwa thitung ttabel. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang kuat dan positif antara Perceived Usefulness (PU) dengan Behavioral Intention (BI) pada peserta didik pengguna Scola pada pembelajaran biologi di SMA DEK.

Abstract

Sauerkraut is a typical German food made from thinly sliced cabbage. Sauerkraut is a fermeted product that can give a distinctive taste. Sugar is an ingredient that can be added in, that sugar can trigger the growth of lactic acid bacteria. Indonesian people like food with a spicy sensation from chilies, chillies here contain vitamin C which functions as an antioxidant that is good for the body and is able to increase endurance. This study aims to calculate the total lactic acid bacteria contained in sauerkraut with the addition of chilies and sugar. Dilution of 1 ml sample into 9 ml physiological NaCl solution from 10 -1 to 10 -8 dilutions was carried out, then inoculated into MRS Agar using the pour plate method. Incubated in room temperature for 48 hours. The growing colonies of lactic acid bacteria were then observed based on colony morphology and counting the total growing lactic acid bacteria. The results of the research can be concluded that there was an increase in the number of lactic acid bacteria in sauerkraut with the addition of chili and 10% granulated sugar with a bacterial density average is 88.667 x 108 CFU/mL.
