Abstract

ABSTRACT- This research aimed at finding out the effect of learning technique and linguistic intelligence towards recount text writing skill in SMPN 1 Way Tenong West Lampung. The research used a 2x2 factorial design. The sample was 30 students selected from the students of SMPN 2 Way Tenong West Lampung through multistage random sampling. There were two chosen groups as experimental. The first group taught by using Cooperative Integrated reading Composition (CIRC) learning technique and second group taught by Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning technique. The results of this research showed that (1) there is a difference score of the recount text writing skills English language learning among groups of students using learning techniques (CIRC) and a group of students who are learning using learning techniques (STAD) (the score of F = 0.99> F 0.258), (2) there is a positive interaction between teaching technique and linguistic intelligence (high and low) on the results of recount text writing skills in English (F value = 25.50> F = 2.95 for α = 0.05 and α = 0.01) , (3) the students who have high linguistic intelligence, there are differences in the score of the recount text writing skills English language students better use learning techniques (STAD) than the group of students with teaching techniques (CIRC), (Qhit = 7.45> Qtab = 3.15 at level α = 0.05 and α = 0.01). (4) the students who have low linguistic intelligence linguistic, there is a difference in the score of the recount text writing skills English language students better used teaching techniques (CIRC) than the group of students with teaching techniques (STAD), (Qhit = 10.18> Qtab = 3.15 at level α = 0.05 and α = 0.01). Key words: recount text writing skill, learning technique: CIRC and STAD, intelligence linguistic

Abstract

Speaking learning with Imitation technique is an action in imitating words or sentences that are appropriate to the native speaker. This imitation technique consists of the stages of listening and reading, listen and imitate, and time to shadow. The purpose of this learning technique is to know how effective this technique is in improving students' speaking skills in the PGSD University Trilogy Department. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Analysis of research data was carried out in three ways, namely data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the research subjects experienced difficulties in the process of speaking with imitation techniques, namely at the read and imitate stage there were 15 students and the time to shadow stage there were 28 students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran Speaking dengan teknik Imitasi adalah sebuah tindakan dalam meniru kata- kata atau kalimat yang sama dengan native speaker. Teknik imitasi ini terdiri dari tahap listen and read, listen and imitate, dan time to shadow. Tujuan dari tenik pembelajaran ini adalah untuk mengatahui seberapa efektif teknik ini diterapakan dalam peningkatan kemampuan speaking mahasiswa Jurusan PGSD Universitas Trilogi. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah descriptive kualititatif. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan melalui tiga cara yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek penelitian mengalami kesulitan dalam proses pembelajaran speaking dengan teknik imitasi, yaitu pada tahap read and imitate terdapat 15 orang mahasiswa dan tahap time to shadow ada 28 mahasiswa. Kata kunci : speaking, teknik imitasi, pembelajaran Abstract: Speaking learning with Imitation technique is an action in imitating words or sentences that are appropriate to the native speaker. Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a product in the form of a Kumon-based English learning model. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. While the research method used in this study is a research and development method which adopts the theory of Borg and Gall. This research has produced a product in two forms, namely Kumon-based reading learning books and audio. Based on the results of the effectiveness test of the Kumon-based learning model of English, it is proven that there is a significant difference (meaning) between before and after being given the Kumon-based learning model. This can be seen from the results in the significant difference test obtained by mean = 0.220, indicating the difference between the pretest and posttest results, the results of t-count = 9.465, with db = 29 and p-value = 0.224 ≥ 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference. Significant between before and after being given the Kumon-based English learning model treatment. So thus the Kumon-based English learning model that has been developed is better than the previous learning model.

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to present the results of the analysis of the need for English language teaching materials in elementary schools based on local learning. The data in this article was collected through a questionnaire filled out by two English teachers and 26 third grade students at SD Negeri 09 Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, odd semester, 2018/2019, then analyzed using descriptive analysis. Objects of study in this article include: 1) suitability of KI and KD, 2) teaching materials used by teachers, and 3) teacher and student needs related to Local Learning-based teaching materials. The results show that: 1) All materials in teaching materials are in accordance with KI and KD 2) Teachers and students use other materials besides books from school to help in understanding a material; and 3) Teachers and students need teaching materials based on Local Learning that can be used to learn noun and adjective material. Thus, it can be understood that teaching materials based on Local Learning are needed. Keywords: Analysis, Materials, English, Local Learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of Kumon-based English reading learning models compared with conventional methods of English reading skills of PGSD students and Management classes at Trilogy University 2018/2019 school year. This study uses a post-test-only control group design. The focus under study is the process and learning outcomes of students' reading comprehension (cognitive) results. This research uses documentation, observation, and test data collection techniques and analyzed with percentage descriptive techniques, and statistical tests. The ability of experimental class students viewed from the overall learning process is more capable (73.3%) compared to the control class (70%). Based on the percentage of students' post-test results, the control class obtained a percentage of (86.9%) in the excellent category, while in the control class the percentage of post-test scores was (68.33%) in the sufficient category. Thus the Kumon-based learning model is effective in improving students' reading ability in English both in terms of process and results compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze the Corona Virus-themed meme text which is analyzed based on a multimodal theory review, which includes (1) lexical analysis, (2) visual analysis, and (3) inter-mode relations. The analytical method used is the multimodal theory of Kress-Leuween. In a multimodal analysis of @edwin_basuki's twitter upload in the corona virus discourse, persuasive sentences were found that aim to entice readers. to stay healthy and follow the government's instructions to stay at home. Based on the findings and discussion of the research, it was found in @edwin_basuki's twitter upload using lexical, and visual, in forming meaning for certain purposes and interests. These relations consist of lexical relations, namely participants. Then the visual relation consists of participant, iconography, gaze, composition, setting, distance, salience, modality, and framing.
