Abstract

Differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DQPSK) modulation techniques and their variants are widely applied in digital communication, such as for high-speed optical fiber, bluetooth, or satellite communication. In its implementation, DQPSK cannot be separated from the potential harmful interference. In this research, a system model has been made for observation and analysis of the interference cancellation process. Discrete finite-duration impulse response (FIR) filters for band limiting and adaptive filter are the key components of the supporting block for this system model. Robust Simulink results have shown a significant increase in system performance in the existence of these key components. The indication has been shown by the best bit error rate (BER) of 3.3e-05. Constellation and eye pattern diagrams have supported the BER.

Abstract

Teknologi otomasi dan komunikasi semakin berkembang pada era revolusi industry 4.0 seperti sekarang ini. Banyak perangkat industry maupun rumah tangga yang mengimplementasikan teknologi tersebut. Pada suatu lingkungan dengan parameter kondisi yang terjaga dari kemungkinan bahaya seperti api, asap, dan gas beracun, sebuah sistem pendeteksi dini  dapat diintegrasikan sehingga mampu memberikan sinyal peringatan dini serta kontrol berupa tindakan preventif yang harus dilakukan agar dapat mengantisipasi terjadinya potensi resiko . Dalam perancangan model simulasi sistem ini, perangkat yang digunakan berupa modul mikrokontroler Arduino uno, sensor MQ-2, LED, buzzer, kipas, dan relay. Metode yang digunakan berupa penelitian  eksperimental yang dapat menguji secara benar hipotesis yang menyangkut hubungan kasual melalui pola tahapan design science research method (DSRM). Pengujian dilakukan dengan cara menempatkan sistem pada suatu lingkungan yang telah ditetapkan kemudian dilakukan proses pengambilan data secara berkala pada beberapa kondisi tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, sistem mampu bekerja secara baik dan optimal, proses pendeteksian memiliki waktu delay yang singkat sehingga fungsi pembuangan pada sistem dapat berjalan secara sinkron dalam menetralisir potensi bahaya pada lingkungan tersebut

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of implementing e-samsat and tax sanctions on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance. This type of research is explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The population is taxpayers registered at the Cimahi Samsat Office. This study utilizes purposive sampling in sampling with the provisions of motor vehicle tax subjects registered at the Cimahi Samsat Office to obtain a sample of 40 respondents. The data collection technique for this study was in the form of a questionnaire/questionnaire which was distributed to several compulsory PKB at the Cimahi Samsat Office. The analysis prerequisite test utilizes heteroscedasticity testing, multicollinearity testing, normality testing, reliability testing, and validity testing using the help of SPSS 26, then multiple linear regression analysis and partial test (t test) with the help of SPSS 26. The results of the t-test indicate that the application of e-samsat partially has an impact on taxpayer compliance, while tax sanctions partially have no impact on taxpayer compliance. It is concluded that the variable of the implementation of e-samsat partially has an impact on taxpayer compliance, and the variable of tax sanctions partially has no impact on taxpayer compliance. The limitation of this research is that the sample used is only 40 respondents and the scope of the research is limited to only 1 Tax Office.

Abstract

When the inductive reactive load is higher, it will cause a voltage drop, increase the power losses in the system, decrease the power factor and decrease the capacity of the electrical power distribution. To reduce the load of inductive reactive power, a capacitive reactive power source is needed by installing the capacitor with the optimal size and at the right location. The method used to determine the optimal size and location of fuzzy logic-genetic algorithm. The parameters used in this simulation are minimal channel power losses while still meeting the specified voltage limit, Vmin = 0.95 PU and Vmax = 1.05 PU. The test results show that the location of the optimal capacitor placement with fuzzy logic-genetic algorithm is on bus 11 and bus 12. The test result from the study of newton raphson power flow, determining the location  capacitor with fuzzy logic and determining the optimal capacitor size with genetic algorithm takes about 4 minutes.Ketika beban reaktif induktif semakin tinggi maka akan menyebabkan menurunnya tegangan, memperbesar rugi-rugi daya pada sistem, menurunnya faktor daya serta menurunnya kapasitas penyaluran daya listrik. Untuk mengurangi beban daya reaktif induktif diperlukan sumber daya reaktif kapasitif yaitu dengan memasang kapasitor dengan ukuran yang optimal dan pada lokasi yang tepat. Metode yang digunakan untuk menentukan ukuran dan lokasi optimal yaitu fuzzy logic-agoritma genetika. Parameter yang digunakan pada simulasi ini yaitu rugi-rugi daya saluran minimal dengan tetap memenuhi batas tegangan yang ditentuka yaitu voltage limit, Vmin= 0.95 PU dan PU and Vmax = 1.05 PU. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa letak penempatan kapasitor yang optimal dengan fuzzy logic-algoritma genetika pada bus 11 dan bus 12. Hasil pengujian dari studi aliran daya dengan Newton-Raphson, penentuan letak kapasitor dengan logika fuzzy, dan optimasi ukuran kapasitor dengan algoritma genetika membutuhkan waktu sekitar 4 menit.

Abstract

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a means of measuring and monitoring important signals from heart activity. One of the major biomedical signal issues such as ECG is the issue of separating the desired signal from noise or interference. Different kinds of digital filters are used to distinguish the signal components from the unwanted frequency range to the ECG signal. To address the question of noise to the ECG signal, in this paper the digital notch filter IIR 47 Hz is designed and simulated to demonstrate the elimination of 47 Hz noise to obtain an accurate ECG signal. The full architecture of the structure and coefficient of the IIR notch filter was carried out using the FDA Tool. Then the model is finished with the help of Simulink and the MATLAB script was to filter out the 47 Hz noise from the signal of ECG. For this purpose, the normalized least mean square (NLMS) algorithm was used. The results indicate that before being filtered and after being filtered it clearly shows the elimination of 47 Hz noise in the signal of the ECG. These results also show the accuracy of the design technique and provide an easy model to filter out noise in the ECG signal.

Abstract

During the pandemic of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) that hit Indonesia, all activities were very limited. Electrical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Kristen Maranatha was motivated  to share knowledge especially in the field of science about "Basic Unity and Virtual Reality (VR)" to the public. This has been realized through community service activities pursued by students and lecturers. VR refers to computer simulations that create images of the world that appear in human senses, in the same way as humans perceive the real world in reality. This community service used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. From the results of a survey of community service activities that have been carried out, it is concluded that the success in providing mentoring to improve the ability of the community to use Basic Unity and VR online, is shown by the results of an increase in the score from an average of 5.85 before the activity, to 7.58 (from a total score of 10) after the activity. The community service committee team's service during the activity was also considered very good and worthy of being maintained in subsequent activities. Meanwhile, the implementation of providing teaching materials, the readiness of the trainers, and the implementation of organizing activities online, still need to be re-evaluated and improved in the future for better results.

Abstract

Farmers in Sumbersari village, located in Bandung district, were in great need of assistance in effectively managing their paddy fields to ensure the production of high quality and high yield rice. One crucial factor that significantly impacts it is the proper application of urea fertilizer based on the conditions of the paddy plants, which can be determined by measuring the chlorophyll content present in the leaves of paddy plants. Therefore, mentoring and literacy activities were held to educate farmers on the utilization of a chlorophyll content measuring device which is the result of research previously conducted by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Kristen Maranatha so that farmers are able to measure the precise amount of fertilizer that must be applied in accordance to the needs of their paddy plants. The mentoring methods covered socialization, demonstration, and hand-on practice with the measuring device. As the result, all farmers became proficient in using the measuring device that had previously been developed. The device’s size and weight are appropriately designed making it convenient for farmers to carry the device the fields and measure the chlorophyll content in the leaves of paddy plants.
