Abstract

Absract : This classroom action research is aimed to improve learning process and mathematics learning outcomes by implementing Problem Solving Strategy in Problem Based Learning. The research subjects are 40 heterogeneous academic ability level students of the VII8 class of Junior High School 8 Pekanbaru in academic year of 2015/2016. This research implemented in two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e: namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. By the end of each cycle, formative test was given. The data was collected by doing observation of teachers and students activities and formative test. The research shows learning process improvement after the implementation Problem Solving Strategy in Problem Based Learning.  Most of student participated actively and responsible in the learning process like discussing, presenting, responding and drawing the lesson conclusion. The member of students passing the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) on base score, formative tes I (first cycle), formative test II (second cycle) were respectively 37,5%, 67,5% and 85%. The persentage of KKM achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation , this it can be said that the students learning outcomes also increase. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of Problem Solving Strategy in Problem Based Learning can improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes of VII8 class students at state junior high school 8 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

The research subjects are 24 heterogenous academic ability level students of the VIII1 class students at MTsN Muara Fajar in academic year of 2016/2017. The research consisted of two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e; namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of a cycle, daily test was held. The data was collected by means of observation and daily test. The action success indicators were if there is learning process improvement and the increasing number of students passing Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) in daily test I and daily test II. The research shows that teachers and students’ activities were conducted well as planned. Most of the students participated actively in the learning process e.g. discussing, presenting student’s worksheet, responding to classmate’s presentation, and drawing the lesson conclusion. Additionally, the students afforded to answer the written test given by teacher well. Therefore, it can be said that improvement of learning process took place in every meeting. Furthermore, the number of students passing the MCC on base score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) were respectively 6 students (25%), 7 students (29,2%), dan 12 students (50%). The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students’ learning outcomes also increase. Finally, the research also shows that cooperative learning with Think Pair Square approach can improve mathematic learning process and learning outcomes of VIII1 class students at MTsN Muara Fajar.Key Words: Math Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract:This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes mathematicsin third grade students of SDN 67 Pematang Pudu by applying the model of Learning Direct. The subjects were third-grade students who have academic ability heterogeneous. This research is a class act with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings and one at each end of the cycle UH and has four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of observational studies showed the teachers and students sheets activities have done after the action. An increase in the number of students who achieved KKM in UH in the end of each cyclecompare to the number of students who achieve a score of KKM on base. The results of this study showed that the application of direct instructional model can improve the process of learning and improving learning outcomes mathematics in third grade students of SDN 67 Pematang Pudu Mandau District in the odd semester of the academic year 2013/2014.  Keywords: Learning Process, Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Learning Direct, classroom action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research was using class action research. This research aims to fixed the process of learning and improve learning result in mathematics in grade 8B of Junior High School 3 Tambusai by applying the discovery learning model. The subject of this research were the students in the class 8B Junior High School 3 Tambusai that consist of 16 boys and 9 girls at the odd semester of academic year 2017/2018. During the learning process, there is a problem of learning that is still focused on the teacher so that students can not find the concept of learning. To solve this problem requires a learning model where students can actively discover their own learning concepts. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and a set of question description and scoring guidelines. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, meanwhile the set of question description were analyzed in statistic desciptive. Based on the result of research, the implementation of discovery learning methods can fix the learning process and improving student’s achievement of learning mathematisc in grade 8B of Junior High School 3 Tambusai odd semester of academic year 2017/2018 on the subject matter of the function.Keywords : Students’ Math Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical representation skill by applying Problem Based Learning model. The research subject were 39 students of class VII3 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru. This study was conducted in the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020. This research is Classromm Action Research with two cycles and each of cycle has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data used in this research are qualitative (Teacher and Student Activity Sheets) and quantitative data (Mathematical Representation Tests). The research instuments consists of learning device (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Student Activity Sheets) and instruments for data collecting (Observation Sheet and Mathematical Representation Tests). The data collection technique of this reseacrh are observation by using qualitative analysis and the mathematical representation test was analyzed by using quantitative analysis. Based on analysis of teacher and student activity sheets was obtained that implementation of learning process on cycle II better than cycle I. The result of mathematical representation skill show that score of student’s mathematical representation skill in the first test was 46,39 (low) then it increased to 65,89 (moderate) on cycle I and 78,91 (high) on cycle II. This study concludes that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model improves the learning process and improve the student’s Mathematical Representation Skill at class VII3 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Representation Skill, Learning Process

Abstract

The goal of learning mathematics in the 2013 curriculum require students to be able to use mathematical reasoning skills in solving problems. The fact in the field is that Junior High School number 21 Pekanbaru shows that student’s mathematical reasoning abilities are still in the low category. One of the causes of the low mathematical reasoning ability of students, the learning process carried out by the teacher, the process is contained in a device that has not been able to facilitate students 'mathematical reasoning abilities and the questions given to students are not related to students' daily lives. or not contextual. This study aims to produce a mathematics learning device design that is able to facilitate students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the SPLDV material. This research is a development research, using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The analysis was carried out in the form of performance and needs analysis, curriculum analysis, and analysis of learning device needs. At the design stage, designing mathematics learning tools using the contextual-based Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE) model to facilitate students' mathematical reasoning abilities on SPLDV material, and in the development stage, learning tools that have been designed are validated by the validator team. The results of the data analysis of the validation of learning tools for the syllabus obtained a percentage of 93.75% with a very valid category, Learning Implementation Plan obtained a percentage of 93.45% with a very valid category, Student Worksheet obtained a percentage of 91.18% with a very valid category, Math reasoning ability test questions obtained a percentage of 90% with a very valid category.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the increase theAbility of Mathematical Problem Solving (KPMM) students through theapplication of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) in learning mathematics andimprove the quality of lectures a course of Mathematics Senior High School. Ifthe application of learning CPS executed properly, it can improve studentsKPMM and improve the quality of lectures a course of Mathematics Senior HighSchool. Analysis of data on activities lecture and students showed that thestudents work together to solve the problems posed in Works Sheet has beenperforming well. Improved learning outcomes can be seen from the developmentof the average value of students of each cycle and the percentage of students thatis value well. The results of the data analysis showed that the application oflearning CPS that executed properly can improve students KPMM and increasethe percentage of students that is value well.Keywords: Creative Problem Solving, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA melaluiPembelajaran Generatif di Kawasan Perkebunan Sagu (Metroxylon sp) Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti,T.A 2014/2015 semester ganjil pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua dan tiga variabel.Tujuan penelitianuntuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis (KKM) siswa SMA melalui PG.Penentuan lokasi dan sampel sekolah secara pourposive sampling yaitu di tiga kecamatan: TebingTinggi (produksi sagu rendah) SMAN-1 Selat Panjang; Merbau (produksi sagu sedang) SMAN-1Merbau dan Tebing Tinggi Timur (produksi sagu tinggi) SMAN-4 Sei Tohor. Pada sampel kelas PKVdanPG, dilakukan pretes dan postes. Pengumpulan data digunakan perangkat pembelajaran: RPP,LAS, media dan silabus; instrumen: tes KKM, lembar aktivitas (guru, siswa). Data dianalisis menggunakanuji Mann Whitney, t, anava dua jalur melalui program SPSS 17.Hasil menunjukkan: pencapaian KKMsiswa melalui PG > PKV untuk setiap kawasan penelitian (tinggi: 7,67> 5,82; sedang:8,43> 6,04;rendah: 9,52 > 6,65). Peningkatan KKM siswa melaluiPG >PKV ( tinggi: 0,58 > 0,43; sedang: 0,64> 0,44; rendah: 0,72 > 0,48). Tidak ada pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara pembelajaran dankawasan perkebunan sagu terhadap peningkatan KKM siswa. PG nyata meningkatkan KKM siswa(Sig.1-tailed= 0,00 < 0,05).Kata Kunci: Peningkatan, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, pembelajaran generatif, kawasansagu,Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the low of learning achievements of students of SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru. This research is aimed at improving the student learning achievements by using the Discovery Learning model. This classroom action research was conducted in VII.6 class of SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru in the first semester of the school year 2019/2020. The subjects of this research were grade VII.6 of SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru that consists of 38 students with 16 were male and 22 were female. The study was done in two cycles with each cycle consisting of three meetings and one repetition every day. The instruments of this research were a learning device and a data collection. The learning tools consist of syllabus, Lesson Plan (RPP) and Student Worksheet (LKPD). The observation sheets and test results of learning were used as the instruments collection. Based on data analysis of the teacher and the student activity, it found that there is an improvement in the learning process after the Discovery Learning model was applied. The results of the students' mathematics test demonstrate that the number of students in knowledge competence decreased in frequency at low intervals and very low intervals from the basic score (5 learners) to the UH I score (2 learners) and to the UH II score ( 0 students) and an increase in the frequency of students at high and very high intervals from the base score (13 learners) to the UH score I (21 learners) and to the UH II score (24 learners). In the competence of skills there is a decrease in frequency at low and very low intervals from the base score (20 learners) to the UH I score (18 learners) and to the UH score II (10 learners) and an increase in the frequency of learners at high and high intervals once from the base score (3 learners) to the UH score I (5 learners) and to the UH score II (10 learners). The results of this research indicate that the application of the Discovery Learning model can improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning achievements of students in class VII6 of SMP Negeri 12 PekanbaruKeywords: Classroom Action Research, Discovery Learning Model, Mathematics Learning Outcomes
