Abstract

Absrtract: The development of science and technology is very influential on the quality of human resources. Quality of human resources derived from the learning process, that is through education. Education is closely related to the development of the curriculum. The 2013 curriculum focuses on students' understanding and activity. The study is based on the limited learning tools of mathematics as a supporter of learning. This study aims to produce a learning device based on discovery learning mathematics on prism and limas material for students of class VIII junior high school that is valid and practical to use. This research is a development research with ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results showed that the learning tools developed have been valid indicated by the results of design of learning implementation (RPP) and students activity sheet (LKS) assessment with the criterion "valid". Work sheet developed are practically demonstrated by the results of the students' assessment with the criteria of "very practical". The learning tools of mathematics developed have the following characteristics: (a) the learning activities contain the steps of the discovery learning model consisting of stimulation / stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and conclusion; and (b) contains a scientific approach consisting of questioning, observing, questioning, collecting information, reasoning, and concluding.Keywords: Learning Tool, Discovery Learning, Curriculum 2013, Scientific Approach

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is low of mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIId of MTs PPDNTB in first semester of the academic year 2015/2016, with the aim to improve the learning process and improve learning result in mathematics in grade VIIId of MTs PPDNTB by implementation of cooperative structural with Numbered Head Togethr (NHT) approach. The subject of research were the students in the class VIIId of MTs PPDNTB that consist of 10 boys and 15 girls at the second semester of academic year 2015/2016. This research consist of two cycles that each cycle composed of 4 stages, such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. At every end of a cycle, researcher doing out daily test. The research instrument consists of learning devices that involve Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet, and instrument data collector that involve the observation sheet and math achievement test. Observation  sheets is analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis and math achievement test analyzed by quantitative descriptive. Based on the results of the research, show that the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematic learning outcomes also increased after applying cooperative learning with Numbered Head Together (NHT) structural approach. The number of students who reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria before the action is  36%, and increased at the first cycle 52% and also increased at the second cycle  76%.

Abstract

Abstract: This-research aims to-develop interactive multimedia using a-problem based learning design on coordinate system topic for 8th grade students. The background of this research was development of information and communications technologies which have made some impact on the practice of education and that limited teacher preparation for the use of ICT in teaching/learning process. The research was conducted to provide learning media that can be directly use in Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research used ADDIE development model by Dick-and Carry. Development is done through the following steps:-(1)-Analyze; created a-need analysis, identified problem (needs)-of-the-students;-(2)-Design; drew a-storyboard which presented the contents of the display of interactive multimedia, prepared everything that will be required among the creation of the media;-(3)-Development; made the media on the computer based on the storyboard that has been design;-(4) Implementation and Evaluation; tested the learning media and analysis the result. The research instrument used is validation sheet to assess the validity requirement of learning media and practicality instrument which is in the form of questionnaire of student response toward learning media implementation. The learning media validated by three-validators, then practicality test was-conducted in MTs-Darul-Hikmah Pekanbaru which is tested in a small-group and large-group. Based on the data analysis, the-result showed that interactive multimedia using a-problem-based-learning design on coordinate-system topic belong to the category of very-valid with an-average value is 3.89 and also could be used very well as learning media for 8th grade-students. Recommendation-for-further research is to test the media in learning process to observe the-effect-of-this-learning-media-to-increase-student’s-score-(learning-outcomes).Key Words : Interactive Multimedia, Development, Coordinate System

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying discovery learning. The subjects of this research are the students of classSMPN 1 Teluk Kuantan at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 which total number of participants are 30 students, consists of 14 male students and 16 female students with heterogeneous academic achievements. This research has two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that that the frequency of the number of students who reached the standard category, good and very good in the frequency distribution table increased from base score to Quiz I, and from Quiz I to Quiz II. The number of students who reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria from the basic score to Quiz I increased by 3 people with a 10% increase, and from Quiz I to Quiz II increased by 4 people with an increase of 13.4%.Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Discovery Learning, class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase learning result of mathematics in grade VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru by applying the contextual approuch. The subject of this research were the students in the class VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru that consist of 14 boys and 11 girls at the first semester of academic year 2017/2018. Implementation of the learning process before action to be held, there is a problem of learning that is still focused on the teacher so that students can not find the learning concept and construct their knowledge by themselves. To solve this problem requires a learning approuch where students can actively discover learning concepts so that they can construct their knowledge. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, while the students’ mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic desciptive. The descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The percentage of students who achieve minimum mastery before the action is 28%, at first cycles is 48% and at second cycles is 72%. The result of the research showed that implementation of contextual approuch can improve the learning process and increased the student’s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2017/2018.Keywords : Student’s Math Achievement, Contextual approuch, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to improve mathematics learning outcomes of students with applied the model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of research is student of class VIII-B SMP IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 28 female students. The research consisit of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the end of every cycle the quiz will be implemented. The instruments of data collection were observation sheets and test of mathematics learning outcomes. The observation sheets were analyzed in narrative descriptive, while test of mathematics learning outcomes were analyzed in statistics descriptive. Narrative descriptive analysis shows that there has been improvement of learning process from before action to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. Learners participate actively in learning process and increasingly independent in solving mathematical problems given. Statistics descriptive analysis shows that students mathematics learning outcomes improve and there has been an improve in the number of students who reach the KKM. The number of students who reached the KKM from the base value to the quiz I improved by 25% and from quiz I to quiz II improved by 21.43%. Results of research indicates that implementation model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and improve mathematics outcomes from the students class VIII-B SMP IT Al-Fityah in the second semester academic years 2017/2018.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and improve the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. The type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The research was conducted in studentof grade VII3 SMP N 32 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year with the subject of as many as 41 students. The research instrument are consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research are consists of the Syllabus, Lesson plan and Student work sheet. The instrument data collector used in this research is consists of the observation sheet and math test. Technique of data analysis is analysis of narrative descriptive and analysis of statistical descriptive. Based on the result of the research show that, the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes have improved after applying the Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. The Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach can be used as an alternative in learning, because it can improve the learning process and improve the students learning outcomes.Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square Approach, learning process, students

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce mathematic learning device in the form of lesson plan and student worksheet using TTW strategy in cooperative learning on the subject of SET for VII grade students. The study model used is 4-D that consist of define, design, develop, and desseminate. The research instrument used is validity device and practicality device. The validity device is a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of lesson plans and student worksheet. The practicality device is in the form of observation sheet of learning process implementation and questionnaire of student response. Learning device developed are validated by three validators. The research trials were is tested in a small group were conducted in SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru and large group in SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru. Small group trial aims to assess the practicability based on student response questionnaire, while the large group to assess the practicability based on the open questionnaire sheet of learning process implementation and student response questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, it can be conclude that the average value for lesson plan is 3.70 in very valid category which means that lesson plan is feasible to be used and as well as the average value for student worksheet are 3.95, that are in very valid category which means that student worksheet are feasible to be tested. The average percentage of student worksheet valued as very practical with mean score for small group and large group testing are 95.60% and 93.82%. These categories mean that the lesson plan and student worksheet are feasible to used in school.Key words: Mathematics Learning Device, TTW Strategy, Cooperative Learning, Development Research, 4-D Model

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve of learning process and to improve mathematics achievement with applied the learning cooperative model Think Pair Square (TPS). The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.The subject of this research is student of class VII4 SMP Negeri 25 Pekanbaru in academic years 2018/2019, which total of 42 students, 18 boys and 24 girls. The instruments of data collection were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitatively, while the students’ Mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitatively. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process after to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and active in learning process, they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to first test I and II. The results of this research showed an increasing of students achievement where the basic score (33,33 %) to the first test (42,85 %), the second test II (59,25 %). For the achievement of score the first test (50 %), the second test (61,90 %). Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning cooperative model Think Pair Square (TPS) can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement of the students at class VII4 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru in academic years 2018/2019 for the subject matter algebraic form.Key Words: Mathematics Achievement, Learning Cooprative Model Think Pair Square (TPS)

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a developmental research which aims to produce computer based learning media of an interactive tutorial model in main value topic for 7th grade of SMP/MTs that is valid and practical. This developmental research used development model based on the teory of Borg and Gall modified by Sugiono (2011). The stages are: (1) potential and problem; (2) literature collection; (3) product design; (4) product validation; (5) product revision; (6) product tested; (7) product revision; (8) product tested in large group; (9) product revision. Product design is through two stages, that are making paper based design and then used microsoft office power point program. The research instrument used a validation sheet that was validated by three experts or validators and participant response questionnaires assessed by students. Assessment of validation data and questionnaire responses of students is done by adapting the formula from Anas Sudijono (2011). The results of the validation of three experts or validators obtained an average score of 3.31 (very valid). The product testing on 6 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.83 (very practical). Furthermore, a trial of use or trial of a large group on 22 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.46 (very practical). Thus, it can be concluded that computer based learning media is valid and practical.Key Words : Computer based Interactive Learning Media, Development, Main Value
