Abstract

Abstract: National Exam (UN) is an instrument for evaluation of learning outcomes that are conducted every year, and the result is used as an indicator in determining the quality of education an educational unit. Various businesses or process improvements that have been made to prepare students to face the UN, but the results have not been quite encouraging. This is because the program is designed for this more focused on preparing students in the mastery of the subject matter while the mental preparation of the students in the exam has not received attention optimal. One of the counseling services that can be given to students to mentally prepare them for exams is group counseling services. In this article, mentally preparing students for exams through group counseling are discussed.Keyword: Readiness, students, group guidance.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to test correlation peer conformity, parents support, juvenile delinquency, and the peer conformity, parental support, partially and simultaneously with the juvenile delinquency. The sample consisted of 115 people taken by using the stratified random sampling. The results show that there is correlation of peer conformity to juvenile delinquency was -0,235, the correlation of parents support to juvenile delinquency was -0,206 and the correlation of peer conformity and parents support to juvenile delinquency was -0,292.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the comparison of students' self-disclosure based on gender. The Comparative descriptive design was applied in this research. The research population was the students of guidance and counseling in Acehnese. The sample consists of 169 students (53 male and 116 female) with proportional random sampling technique. The research instrument used Scale Self-Disclosure in reliability 0.910. The Data Analyzed by using ANOVA. The result of determined that there are significant differences between students' self-disclosure are observed from gender.

Abstract

Student has a different level of aggressiveness, this was influenced by various factors one of them is gender. Aims of this research is to examine differences the aggressiveness students based on gender. The method was ex post facto with a 2 groups design. Thepopulation is 566 and samples were 234 students. Sampling technique used stratified random sampling.The instrument usedAggressiveness Scale, with reliability scoreis 0,936. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and anova. The results of this research show that there is a significant difference of aggressiveness in terms of gender. The implication of this research can be used as students need assessment to make improvement a program of guidance and counseling.

Abstract

Every students have educational and occupational aspirations. The factors affecting the educational and occupational aspirations of students are cultural and gender. Aims of this research were to examine the differences educational and occupational aspirations between male and female of Batak Karo and Melayu Deli students. The population were 823 and samples 268 students. The instrument used the educational aspiration scale (R= 0,853) and occupational aspirations scale (R= 0,852). The data were analyzed by using MANOVA. The result of this research shows that there is not significant the difference on educational and occupational aspirations between Batak Karo and Melayu Deli students, there was significant difference on educational and occupational aspirations between Batak Karo male and female students, there was significant differences on educational aspirations between Melayu Deli male and female students and there was not significant difference on occupational aspirations.

Abstract

This research was conducted from the student low level toward student problem solving strategies. The student problem solving strategies were affected by interpersonal communication. This research was intended to describe the contribution of the interpersonal communication toward student problem solving strategies. This correlational descriptive research applied quantitative methods. The sample of this research were 240 students of SMA Negeri 2 Pariaman on grade XI and XII, students there were chosen by proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire interpersonal communication inventory and problem solving strategies inventory. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistic, simple regression. The research findings that the interpersonal communication contributed on toward student problem solving strategies, The implications of the results of this study can be used as advice to School Counselor in providing guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of social support co-workers and social self-concepts together to school counselor burnout conditions. This research uses quantitative method of correlation descriptive type. The population of the research is the State Senior High School counselor of Pekanbaru City. The sample numbered 52 people school counselors were assigned with sampling technique total sampling. The instruments used are the “Burnout Scale” with reliablity 0,976, “Social Support Co-workers Scale” with reliability 0,959, and “Social Self-Concept Scale” with reliablity 0,934. The research data were analyzed using multiple regression. The research findings show that there is contribution of social support of co-workers and social self concept to burnout condition equal to 55.7%. The implications of this research on guidance and counseling will be discussed.

Abstract

This research background is the low skilled interpersonal communication from student. Social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support are factors suspected influence student interpersonal communication. This research is aimed to describe and examined: (1) relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication; (2) together relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication. This research used quantitative approach by using descriptive correlational method. The population of this research were 670 students of MTsN Parak Lawas Padang. The sample were 251 students that were chosen by using Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. The instrument that had is the scale by using the Likert scale model. The data research was analize by descriptive statistics, simple, and multiple regression. This discover research show: (1) there was a relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication; (2) there was together a relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to reveal whether the Guidance and Counseling module designed for increasing the students’ self-esteem had been proper in terms of content and appearance, and to describe the usability level of the Guidance and Counseling module to increase the students’ self-esteem. This research applied ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The subjects of the research consisted of 6 experts to see the properness of the module and 3 Guidance and Counseling teachers to see the usability level of the module. This research was conducted by trying out the product and through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive statistic analysis and inferensial statistic. Based on these results, in general, the prototype of Guidance and Counseling module designed for increasing the students’ self-esteem had been proper and could be used by the Guidance and Counseling teachers to increase the students’ self-esteem.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate guidance and counseling module to prevent bullying at school and to describe the level of applicability used by counselor. The method used was ADDIE model development. The subjects of the research consisted of guidance and counseling expert and the intended target of the module (counselor), chosen through purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaire and focus group discussion (FGD). The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that prototype modules developed to prevent bullying at school is applicable used by the counselor and those modules can be utilized by counselor to prevent bullying at school.
