Abstract

Abstract : This article discusses the public space in South Korea relating to women's rights. The purpose of this article is to investigate the existence of friendly public spaces for women. The researcher wants to know how to improve and equip the facilities in order to make friendly public spaces for women. This research found that the public spaces on campus and public toilets have sufficient rights of women so that women can feel comfortable. The conducive of public spaces supported by legal professionals can control a person's social behavior in addition to an effective moral education. Abstrak : Artikel ini membahas ruang publik di Korea Selatan yang berkaitan dengan hakhak perempuan. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui keberadaan ruang publik yang ramah bagi perempuan. Peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana memperbaiki dan melengkapi fasilitas untuk membuat ruang publik yang ramah bagi perempuan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ruang publik di kampus dan toilet umum memiliki hak yang memadai sehingga perempuan bisa merasa nyaman. Ruang publik yang kondusif didukung dengan hukum yang profesional juga dapat mengendalikan perilaku sosial seseorang di samping pendidikan moral yang efektif.

Abstract

Good cooperation relationship between Indonesia and South Korea gives high impact on the migration from Indonesia to South Korea temporarily or permanently which affect the usage of the language by the user or referred as Indonesian expatriates in South Korea. In this article, the usage of languages, language shift, and language retention of the Indonesian expatriates in South Korea are described. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collected by listening to two different media, namely interviews and social networking Facebook. The research subjects were Indonesian expatriates in South Korea, such as workers (TKI-Indonesian Workers), students, and intermarrying Indonesia-Korea families in Korea. The object of this study is the usage of mother tounge, then analyzed by using qualitative methods through sociolinguistic theory and reported descriptively. The results showed two groups of language usage, multilingual and monolingual groups. In the case of migrants or expatriates who are part of intermarrying families, there are three models of language retention. The first model, there is retention of mother tounge (b1) in addition to the usage of the Korean language (b2), and the Indonesian as the third language (b3). All three languages are used according to the situation and condition. The local language retention was found in the second model (b1 without Indonesian language, so using the mother tounge and Korean languages only. In the last model, the speaker who is a mother didn’t teach the mother tounge to their children. She tends to be monolingual, only the Korean language.Keywords: retention of mother tounge, expatriates, South Korea

Abstract

Rice fields in urban areas are getting narrower and made rice field activities are decreasing which of course will result in the reduced use of lexicons in this field. Therefore, it is needed to conduct a reseach on the lexicon of rice fields in Padang city. This article discusses the lexicons of rice fields used by people in Padang. This research is conducted qualitatively. Data is collected by referring method and analyzed by referential equivalent method. Then, it is presented in an informal method. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the rice lexicons found can be grouped into four, namely process lexicons, tools, flora, and fauna which are, mambajak , manyiang, manyikek, mananam,, etc. This lexicon must be inventoried so that the lexicon inheritance can be carried out as the local wisdom of the lexicon can be maintained for the next generation. Abstract

The Maninjau Lake have been poised several times which caused by the waste of commercial aquaculture feed. The situation resulted in a drastic reduction of several members of the ecosystem in the lake. The reduction of species in an ecosystem will result in the loss of the lexicon related to the species. The current research studies the lexicon of flora and fauna in Lake Maninjau, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia in the context of ecolingusitis. The output of the current study is to provide documentation lexicon which have potential to be extinct due to ecological cases such as natural disasters and human intervention around the Lake Maninjau ecosystem. The data were collected by using observational method and interviews, then the data were analyzed using translational and referential identity method. The flora found in the waters are enceng gondok, lumuik, jaiia amun, sikajuik lauik, and  pandan lauik. Fauna found include ideh, kijing, pensi, rinyuak, bada, gariang, nila, majalaya, kolai, lele, patin, udang, lintah, bujang sambilan, asang, rutiang, langkitang, sipuik, lokan, and acek. Some types of fauna such as rinyuak are difficult to find because they polluted by tubo. Pollution as an enemy of the ecosystem caused by human greedy behavior is one of the major factors of the language extinction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fonologi bahasa Korea. Bahasa Korea memiliki fonem /i/, /i:/, /e/, /e:/, /u/, /u:/, /ŭ/, /o/, /o:/, /ŏ/, /a/, /a:/, /b/, /p/, /d/, /t/, /j/, /c/, /g/, /k/, /m/, /n/, /ŋ/, /s/, /x/, /h/, /č/, /l/, /r/,  /y/, /w/;  /ṫ/, dan /ṗ/; diftong [Ia], [Iŏ], dan [Iu]; serta serta struktur suku kata V, VK, KV, KVK, KVV, KKV, dan KVKK. Fonem bahasa Korea berupa fonem vokal  /i/,  /e/,  /u/,  /o/, dan /a/ berdistribusi  secara lengkap. Namun, fonem /e/ hanya berdistribusi di tengah dan akhir kata saja. Diftong [Ia] dan [Iu] berdistribusi di tengah kata, sementara fonem [Iŏ] terdapat di tengah dan akhir kata.

Abstract

The lexicon is an important part of the heritage of local wisdom which is also important in culture-based children's education. This article, it is explained the classic lexicon of children's games in Minangkabau culture and the cultural significance of the lexicon. This research was conducted through quantitative and qualitative methods. Sources of data in this study are edited ancient manuscripts, documentation of folklore, and traditional holders in Minangkabau culture. The data were analyzed through an anthropolinguistic approach. The classic lexicon of children's games in Minangkabau culture are boborea, sapu-sapu rangik, and tang-tang buku, ulo-ulo, dama, and badie balantak. The classical lexicon must be maintained because it has cultural significance for the Minangkabau people who have a sense of togetherness, shrewdness, and strong intelligence in thinking and must be familiar with children from an early age through education, one of which is through games. In addition to technological developments and lifestyle changes, the Covid-19 pandemic has also affected the way children play.

Abstract

Greetings, along with its kineses, vary from one language to another, showing the culture of the speakers. This article discusses the system of greetings with their kineses in several languages from different continents. The research was conducted by taking into account some environmental, geographical, and socio-cultural factors of the users of the languages. The method of the research is a combination of some linguistic methods and cultural methods. The use of greetings in Indonesian, Korean, Arabic, Hungarian, Spanish, Swedish, and Swahili has a relationship with the natural state of the speakers. The greeting system in relation to the time of morning, afternoon, evening, and night can be classified into two classes. People living in areas with the time division of the morning, afternoon, evening, and night tend to use clear time-based greeting.

Abstract

The development of impressions on the Youtube channel contributes to the development of language use both on social media and the wider community, including in expressive speech about taste. Therefore, this study aims to explain the expressive utterances of taste used by Indonesian content creators in culinary review shows on the Youtube channel. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative method. The data source is culinary reviews shown on the Youtube channel from Indonesian content creators with data in the form of expressive utterances about taste. Data analysis was carried out by describing lingual units containing expressive utterances about taste through sociolinguistic studies. Based on the results of the study, the expressive utterances about taste used by Indonesian content creators in culinary review shows on Youtube channels include mantap “perfect”, badabest, nggak ada obat “the best”, seger “fresh”, mantep poll, mantap “yummy”, dabest, parah “heavenly”, bold banget “very bold”, nampol. Gak ngotak “very delicious”, umami, seksi banget “very appetizing”, Ya Allah “Oh Allah”, and gila “crazy” in addition to enak, lezat, sedap, and nikmat “tasty”. Due to the dynamic nature of the language, the creative lingual units used by the community, both online and in conversations outside the network, should be documented to map language development.

Abstract

A Good cooperation intergovernmental has increased the number of Indonesian expatriates in South Korea. The majority among the expatriates are Muslims. In this article, described the conduciveness of religious life ofIndonesian Muslim expatriates in South Korea. The study was conducted withqualitative and comparative methods. The data analysis showed that the Muslim expatriates in South Korea had the efforts and challenges to implement the values of religion in order to become religious people in their new environment because the atmosphere is quite different from their home country.
