Abstract

The green revolution is modernization in agriculture. In Indonesia, the green revolution is a government effort to increase economic development and food security. The program implemented since the New Order regime has shifted traditional agriculture to modern agriculture. This makes agriculture no longer based on ecological principles. In the end, the green revolution created dependence that ended in poverty. This article aims to explain the phenomenon of dependency of the farming community in Indonesia. This research uses the literature study research method, where data is obtained through books, journals, news, articles, and other relevant sources. The data were then analyzed and linked to the dependency theory. The results of this study found that the farming community in Indonesia is very dependent on chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers are government-subsidized fertilizers, even though chemical fertilizers can damage the ecosystem. In addition, the scarcity of subsidized fertilizers makes farmers have to buy expensive non-subsidized fertilizers. Therefore, farmers are always in the poor group, thus creating social inequality. In the end, peasants depend on the compassion of their relatives, relatives, peasants, neighbors to survive in the life of the peasants, relatives, fellow farmers, and patrons (landlords and middlemen) just for a day's meal. They often have to give up to make savings, to borrow from rich people or financial institutions such as banks and cooperatives.

Abstract

RUU Cipta Kejra is part of the Omnibus Law in the ratification of many verses which are in the context of controversy. The ratification of the RUU Cipta Kerja invites conflict between workers and the government. Both parties experienced collisions, which resulted in demonstrations on 8-10 October. The demonstration involved workers and students. The demonstration was also chaotic because of the elements who carried out acts of fandalism. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the rejection of the RUU in the View of Sociological Conflict Theory. So this paper will discuss how the demonstration was carried out from a sociological perspective, particularly in sociology of law through conflict theory. This paper uses the literature study method, which data sources come from secondary sources obtained through news sources, articles, journals, and books. Then from the data obtained, it is processed and analyzed using Conflict Theory. The results of this study were demonstrations caused by conflicts between students and workers and the government. There are several factors that led to the demonstration, namely, First, communication between workers and the government. Second, there is a change in the balance in society where the workers are threatened by their human rights. Third, interests. Fourth, there is pressure from the past or unresolved problems, where the reserves of workers are not fulfilled.

Abstract

Social media is a communication tool that can disseminate or spread a culture, including YouTube. It has become a meeting place for various people from different backgrounds. However, YouTube becomes an arena where dominant groups exercise power over other groups. Trans TV company has the capital that can create a habitus that oppresses other groups. Through the ‘Ngobrol Asal' program, Trans TV tries to maintain its position. The program indicates the existence of symbolic violence against people with disabilities. Disability discrimination issues have been in the spotlight throughout history. Through the modernization of communication tools, discrimination of persons with disabilities occurs smoothly. Komeng, the actor, performs a comedy that refers to the symbolic violence against Daus Mini as a person with a disability whose limitations turn into a joke that indirectly impacts the negative perception of people with disabilities. This study uses qualitative research methods. This study uses the perspective of Stuart Hall's Representation Theory to reveal the meaning of the scene and Bourdieu's Theory of Symbolic Violence to explain comedic content, which is an arena for the practice of symbolic violence. The results of this study indicate the existence of symbolic violence in the 'Ngobrol Asal' program. This can be seen in Komeng's jokes, representing Daus Mini as a small child who cannot contribute to society. The limitation of Daus Mini as the actor is interpreted as a disgrace to the family or the surrounding environment. Trans TV as a capital owner, uses YouTube as a battle arena to maintain its position, regardless of the impact on people with disabilities. Abstract

Praktik konsumsi minuman alkohol memiliki makna tersendiri bagi para remaja. Sekalipun mereka memahami dan mempraktikan aturan agama mereka, namun para remaja memiliki pengetahuan tersendiri tentang minuman alkohol. Melalui pengetahuan mereka, seolah-olah dapat lolos dari aturan agama mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengalaman mengkonsumsi alkohol dan prakti keagamaan remaja di Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan teori interaksinonlisme simbolik untuk mengetahui presepsi tentang konsumis alkohol; mencari tahu tentang konsumsi alkohol, sehingga meloloskan diri dari aturan agama. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa para remaja memiliki makna tentang konsumsi alkohol, seperti simbol kebahagiaan, penlampiasan, pencair suasana, rasa syukur, dan kebersamaan. Para remaja memberikan alasan bahwa konsumsi alkohol bukan urusan halal atau haramnya, selama tidak merugikan orang lain. Stigma masyarakat tentang alkohol adalah penyimpangan sosial dan agama dikarenakan digunakan secara rusuh, sehingga merugikan orang lain.

Abstract

The practice of consuming alcohol has its own meaning for teenagers. Even though they understand and practice the rules of their religion, teenagers have their own knowledge about drinking alcohol. Through their knowledge, it is as if they can escape the rules of their religion. This study aims to identify the experience of consuming alcohol and adolescent religious practices in Surabaya. The study used qualitative research methods with a symbolic nonlism interaction theory approach to determine the perception of alcohol consumption; find out about alcohol consumption, thereby escaping religious rules. The results of this study indicate that adolescents have meanings about alcohol consumption, such as symbols of happiness, venting, breaking the atmosphere, gratitude, and togetherness. Teenagers give reasons that alcohol consumption is not a matter of halal or haram, as long as it does not harm others. The public stigma about alcohol is a social and religious deviation because it is used in a riot, to the detriment of others.
