Abstract

The use of social media for development as well as the promotion of tourism destinations is being loved by the people of Indonesia, both from the government and the private sector. So this paper will explain the same thing a bit. Specifically this article will discuss the development of tourist destinations using one of the social media, namely Instagram. The tourist destinations that we are developing are in the village of Tegaren, District Tugu, Trenggalek Regency. There are three (3) tourist destinations in Tegaren, namely embungs, caves, and waterfalls. The community service that we have done is still focused on one tourist destination, namely embung. The embung in the Tegaren village is called Banyu Lumut. This paper seeks to explain the development of tourist destinations through social media. In this paper, the concept of tourism that is pro-poor tourism, tourism value chain, and productive economic empowerment will be used. The pro-poor tourism approach is used as an alternative step of ecotourism which is expected to be more engaged in labor-intensive development activities rather than capital intensive. The community service that we have done has resulted in the form of an @banyulumut Instagram account which can then be used by the Tegaren village government to promote Tegaren tourism. Keywords: tourism, social media, embung, empowerment, community service

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The Job Creation Act (Omnibus-Law) contains several policies that have led to a protest movement in the form of demonstrations related to this regulation. The demonstration was widely covered by online news media in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative by using news articles as the unit of analysis using the Entman model framing paradigm to see how online news media construct reality. This study focuses on the news of demonstrations against The Job Creation Act reported by Tirto.id and Liputan6.com for October 2020. The purpose of this research is to reveal how Tirto.id and Liputan6.com portrayed the demonstrations as the reflection of democracy in Indonesia. The results show that Tirto.id and Liputan6 have differentiation in interpreting this phenomenon. Tirto.id prioritizes a critical attitude to issues related to reflection of democracy in Indonesia in that context, that in the democratic process, there is still violence from the apparatus, annihilation of workers, and riots that cause damage to facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Liputan6.com tends to develop a positive perspective regarding the democratic process during and after demonstrations. Despite violence against journalists, the authorities are still trying to resolve the case and emphasize the government's positive efforts in improving the country's economy through the Job Creation Law.

Abstract

Private radio, which relies on programs with local cultural content in local languages, affects the success of reaching large audiences and financial benefits. In East Java, four private radios have the advantage of local cultural programs, namely Radio Jodhipati FM in Nganjuk, Radio Sritanjung FM in Banyuwangi, Radio Nada FM Sumenep, and Radio Media FM in Surabaya. This study aims to determine what cultural programs can increase the number of listeners and profitability on the four cultural radios. Furthermore, to find out why listeners like local cultural programs of each radio. This research on broadcast content on four cultural radios uses virtual ethnographic methods by collecting data, both offline and online. Researchers are involved in broadcasting activities on four cultural radios (offline) and listener interaction activities in the virtual world (online), namely Facebook and WhatsApp. This study conducted interviews with twelve informants representing radio management, local cultural figures, and loyal listeners. The results showed that each radio has excellent cultural programs with a solid appeal to maintain listener loyalty. The four cultural radios involve cultural experts in designing cultural programs. Listeners try to maintain local tastes because they realize that love for local culture is a strengthening of national identity, which is the richness of Indonesian culture.
