Abstract

The low understanding of machine student Vocabulary on machining terms in English requires an appropriate method to overcome them. This study aims to apply the use of Make A Match method to improve students learning outcomes in mastering Vocabulary. The subject in this study is students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program of Politeknik Harapan Bersama Tegal, about 30 students. The determination of this sample is based on the results of preliminary research on the class to be studied and the results of referrals from lecturers. While the object of this research is the effect of using the Make A Match learning method in Vocabulary mastery to increase student learning outcomes in English subjects. The implementation of the stages of activities carried out in 2 cycles. The research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year from November to December 2019. The first cycle was conducted in the third and fourth weeks of November while the second cycle was carried out in the fifth week of November and the first Sunday in January. This research is CAR consisting of two cycles with stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Both cycles use the application of the Make A Match learning model. Before the first cycle of learning is implemented to describe the initial conditions of students before getting action after the implementation of activities that end with evaluation activities through written tests for each cycle. The results of the research show that the initial ability of students before getting an action scores an average of 65 and a percentage of completeness of 60%. In cycle 1 there was an increase in the average value to 69 with a percentage of completeness of 75%. In cycle 2 there was an increase in the average score to 75 and the completeness reached 87%. And the results of the study showed an increase in achievement in English courses which was very significant, that is 87% of 30 students scored 70 in accordance with the specified minimum value. And student responses to the learning process are in the positive category.

Abstract

Dengan kemajuan teknologi industri rumah tangga sehingga memberikan kemudahan bagi masyarakat khususnya petani dalam pengolahan hasil pertanian contohnya jagung, selain itu sebagai salah satu makanan pokok juga dapat di manfaatkan sebagai salah satu bahan baku industri pangan seperti diolah menjadi minyak nabati, margarin, maizena, kue dan jagung juga sebagai makanan produksi jagung harus ditingkatkan seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk dan perkembangan usaha ternak dan industry. Tujuan untuk menentukan Rpm mana yang lebih baik antara dua kombinasi puli untuk digunakan pada mesin pemipil jagung. Metode pengujian menggunakan metode eksperimen yaitu dengan cara merubah variasi pulley pada mesin penggerak dengan diameter 152 mm, 178 mm, 203 mm dan ukuran diameter pulley pada mesin yang digerakkan 58 mm dan masing-masing selama 10 menit, kemudian catat hasil pengilingan yang paling efisien. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa hasil penggilingan dengan menggunakan variasi pulley mesin penggerak diameter 152 mm selama 10 menit dengan kecepatan mesin 2000 Rpm dan hasil penggilingan 3 Ons sedangkan hasil penggilingan dengan menggunakan variasi pulley mesin penggerak diameter 178 mm selama 10 menit dengan kecepatan mesin 2000 Rpm menghasilkan 4 Ons. Untuk pulley berdiameter 203 mm selama 10 menit dengan kecepatan mesin 2000 Rpm  didapatkan hasil penggilingan 9 Ons.

Abstract

Semakin banyaknya jumlah sampah, terutama sampah plastik yang dalam proses penguraiannya berlangsung sangat lama dan pesatnya teknologi pendaur ulang sampah salah satunya dengan mesin pencacah sampah jenis shredder yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan cacahan yang lebih banyak. Metode pengujian menggunakan mesin pencacah dan metode manual menggunakan tangan, untuk mesin pencacah menggunakan motor listrik Rpm 1400 dengan di perlambat menggunakan reducer sebagai torsi dengan perbandingan 1:30 dengan menghasilkan 46 putaran permenit, pengujiannya masing-masing selama satu jam dan dikalikan dalam satu hari jam kerja yaitu 7 jam kerja. Kemudian dicatat  berapa banyak perbandingan cacahan per-kg dalam satu hari kerja, penggunaan mesin pencacah sampah tentunya sangat berpengaruh terhadap hasil cacah dibandingkan pada proses manual yang masih menggunakan tangan sebagai proses pencacahannya dimana hasil yang didapatkan lebih banyak mesin pencacah daripada proses manual.

Abstract

This research was done to see students’ TOEFL score especially for fifth semester of Politeknik Harapan Bersama Tegal majoring Mechanical Engineering. Descriptive design using quantitative approach was chosen by the researcher. The sample is 45 students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program. The TOEFL test was used as research instrument. Descriptive statistics was used as data analysis technique, mean and percentage. The result of this research showed that student obtained problems in getting a TOEFL score with an average score 424 which was still at the basic proficiency category. The researcher found that the highest problem received by the students is listening section where student obtained correct answers only 23.7%. The students obtained the lowest score is in the short conversation with the percentage 31.27%. Then the structure and written expression, students obtained average score lowest in structure with a percentage 30.6%.
