Abstract

High Alert drugs are drugs that must be watched out for because they often cause serious errors (sentinel events) and drugs that have a high risk of causing Unwanted Drug Reactions (ROTD). The High Alert drug group includes high-risk, look-alike and sound-alike drugs (LASA), and high concentrations. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of suitability of High Alert drug storage based on SPO at Tk Hospital. IV Guntung Umbrella Banjarbaru. The type of research used is non-experimental research with descriptive survey research methods. This research was conducted by cross-sectional and the sampling technique used was a saturated sampling technique. The study was conducted at the Tk Hospital. IV Guntung Umbrella Banjarabaru. The research tool used in this study was an observation sheet. The total number of High Alert drugs is (n=70) items, consisting of high-risk drugs (n=22); LASA (Look Alike Sound Alike) (n=45) items; and high concentrate (n=3) items. The results showed the percentage of storage suitability based on the SOP for Tk Hospital. IV Guntung Payung Banjarbaru amounted to 77.14% (54). While the suitability by category, high risk drugs is 72.72% (16), LASA (Look Alike Sound Alike) 77.78% (35), and High Concentrate is 100% (3).

Abstract

Pemanfaatan biomassa sebagai sumber daya listrik merupakan salah satu solusi yang dapat dikembangkandalam rangka meningkatkan rasio elektrifikasi dan mewujudkan ketahanan energi nasional. Untuk itu sebagai langkah awal bagi menguji kelayakan pengembangan biomassa sebagai sumber pembangkit tenaga listrik, diperlukan analisis tentang potensi sumber daya, terutama dari beberapa komoditas unggulan, baik dari sisa hasil pertanian maupun perkebunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat potensi biomassa berdasarkan ketersediaan pasokan sumber daya yang tidak termanfaatkan yang dapat diperoleh dari sisa hasil pertanian. Beberapa sisa hasil pertanian dan perkebunan yang menjadi target penilaian antara lain adalah jerami dan sekam padi sawah, jerami dan sekam padi ladang, batang dan tongkol jagung, batang ubi kayu, serta serat, cangkang, tandan kosong, kernel dan limbah cair yang terdapat di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Hasil analisis dengan pendekatan statistik, menunjukkan bahwa total energi teoritis biomassa yang dapat dihasilkan adalah sebesar 77.466.754,8 Gj/Tahun. Secara teoritis berpotensi menghasilkan energi listrik sebesar 21.518.542,8 MWh/Tahun.Kata Kunci: Biomassa, Potensi Teoritis, Rasio Elektrifikasi

Abstract

An isolation of degrading bacteria of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) was conducted from May to October 2014 at the Laboratory of Microbiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Andalas University. This study aimed to describe the characteristic of the bacteria which can degradate the POME. The result obtained five isolates ie BLS1, BLS2, BLS3, BLS4 and BLS5 and their characters were rod-shaped (basil), gram-positive, motile, positive catalase and forming endospores.                                                                                                        Keywords:       isolation, characterization, degrading bacteria, POME

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to look at the effect of sugar dose, black tea extract dose, interaction of sugar and black tea exstract dose on the fermentation and production of nata de coco. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in Factorial was used in this experiment with sixteen treatments and two replications. The first factor was the doses of sugar and the second factor was doses of black tea extract. The results of this study showed that the doses of sugar and addition of black tea extract was able to increase the production of nata de coco. The best dose of sugar in 50 g/ l, the best dose of black tea extract in 8 g/ l. The interaction of sugar dose and black tea extract dose contained in the treatment a1b2 the dose of sugar 50 g/l and black tea extract 8 g/l with an average weight of 23,43 g nata de coco. The benefits of this research is to increase production and quality of nata for the nata de coco’s industry.

Abstract

Production of waste in urban areas reached 0.5 kg/person /day and 80% consisted of organic waste, one of many types of waste mostly generated is household waste. Generally, this household organic waste containing structural compoundsuch us long chains of cellulose.Therefore, the use of microorganism that can produce cellulase is very important to reduce the weight of garbage. Trichoderma harzianumis known as the most potential mold compared to other molds in converting cellulose. Sawdust and bran contain cellulose and hemicellulose that can be used as the main component in the mediafor its growth. The objectives of this study was: To find an effective ratio between sawdust and bran as growth mediafor Trichoderma harzianum, To know the cellulase activity of Trichoderma harzianum. This study has been conducted from April 2015 to Juli 2015 in the Laboratory of Microbiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Andalas. The results of this study concluded that an effective ratio between sawdust and bran as a growth media for Trichoderma harzianumwhich degraded organic waste was 50:50. The highest activity of cellulase in degrading organic waste is 100%.

Abstract

Research on the mycelial growth of mold isolates lignocelulolitic done using media substrate bran and sawdust. This research was conducted from April 2015 through March 2016 in the laboratory of Microbiology/ Mycology Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Andalas. This study aimed to compare the media effectively to the growth of mold isolates lignoselulolitik and lignin peroxidase (LiP) activity it generates in the response to the lignocellulosic organic waste. Comparison of media composition adapted to the treatment used is Bran 100%: Sawdust 0%; Bran 75%: Sawdust 25%; Bran 50%: Sawdust 50%; Bran 25%: Sawdust 75% and Bran 0%: Sawdust 100%. Parameters include the observation of mold growth on medium speed baglog and lignin peroxidase (LiP) activity was measured using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 310 nm with Veratryl Alcohol as a substrate. The results showed that the ratio of the bran media effectively : sawdust against mycelial growth of mold isolates are on treatment lignoselulolitik bran 75% : sawdust 25%, while the activity of lignin peroxidase (LiP) at the highest bran ratio of 50% : 50% sawdust.

Abstract

Yogurt is a processed product which is the fermentation of milk by lactic acid bacteria. The use of noni fruit in the process of making yogurt is one of the efforts to diversify food. This study aims to determine the effect of Morinda citrifolia L level extract on the characteristics and pH value of yogurt. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (P0: 0%, P1: 5%; P2: 10% and P3: 15%) and the treatment was repeated 3 times. Observations were analyzed using variance analysis (ANOVA) and if there were significant differences, it would be followed by Duncan's Real Distance Difference test (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) to determine which treatment level gave a significant difference. The results showed that the addition of noni fruit extract had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the organoleptic characteristics and pH value of yogurt. The best results obtained in this study were the addition of noni fruit extract with a level of 10%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCocoa (Theobroma cacao, L) is one of Indonesia's main and essential non-oil commodity export. In West Sumatera, TSH 858, Scavina, and ICS 60 are three superior cocoa varieties that attempt for their cultivation. This study aimed to observe the potential fermentative of indigenous microbiota from pulp three cocoa varieties TSH 858, Scavina and ICS 60 as a starter in cocoa bean fermentation. One way anova used for data analyzed such as pH, alcohol, reducing glucose value, and fermentative intensity. Meanwhile, the Wilcoxon signed test was used for organoleptic analysis. Variable of this study was fermentation without starter (A), Fermentation with starter of TSH 858 variety (B), fermentation with starter of Scavina variety (C), and fermentation with starter of ICS variety (D). After 12 days fermentation, the fermentation product showed which total indigenous microbiota for A were (4,3 x1010cfu/ml), B (2,2x1014 cfu/ml, C (2,97 x1014 cfu/ml) and D (5,1x1014 cfu/ml). Alteration in pH value for A was (3,56-4,07), B (3,55-3,90), C (3,64-4,05), and D (3,56-4,08). Meanwhile, the reducing glucose value for A was (5,6%), B (5,7 %.), C (6,1%), and D (5,3%). The best fermentation intensity comes from treatment with addition starters (A, B, and C) that occurred on the 3rd day, while without starter occurred on the day 6th. Alcohol value from all treatment were A (2,5%), B (1,3 %.), C (2,5%), and D (1,3%). The highest averages preference for cocoa bean aroma was D (3,2; likes).Keywords: cacao, fermentation, indigenous microbiota, starterABSTRAKKakao (Theobroma cacao, L.) merupakan salah satu komoditi utama dan andalan ekspor non migas Indonesia. TSH 858, Scavina dan ICS 60 merupakan tiga varietas kakao yang unggul dan sedang diusahakan perkembangannya di Sumatera Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi fermentasi mikrobiota indigenous pulp dari tiga varietas kakao TSH 858, ICS 60 dan Scavina sebagai starter untuk fermentasi biji kakao. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji Rancangan Acak Lengkap dan nilai organoleptik dianalisis secara statistik dengan Uji Jenjang Bertanda Wilcoxon. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah (A) tanpa starter (kontrol); (B) penambahan starter varietas TSH 858; (C) penambahan starter varietas Scavina; (D) penambahan starter varietas ICS 60. Setelah 12 hari fermentasi, produk  fermentasi menunjukkan hasil bahwa jumlah mikrobiota indigenous perlakuan A (4,3 x1010cfu/ml), B (2,2x1014 cfu/ml, C (2,97 x1014 cfu/ml) dan D (5,1x1014 cfu/ml). Perubahan  nilai pH pulp kakao dari awal sampai akhir fermentasi pada perlakuan A  (3,56-4,07), B (3,55-3,90), C (3,64-4,05), dan D (3,56-4,08). Pengurangan kadar gula untuk perlakuan A (5,6%), B (5,7 %.), C (6,1%), dan D (5,3%). Intensitas fermentasi terbaik pada perlakuan dengan penambahan starter (B,C,dan D) terjadi pada hari ke-3, sedangkan pada perlakuan tanpa starter (A) terjadi pada hari ke-6. Kadar Alkohol Perlakuan A (2,5%), B (1,3 %.), C (2,5%), dan D (1,3%). Nilai rata-rata kesukaan terhadap aroma biji tertinggi (3,2;suka) adalah pada perlakuan D.Kata kunci: fermentasi, kakao, mikrobiota indigenous, starter

Abstract

Kegiatan IPTEKS berbasis dosen & masyarakat (IbDM) ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk diseminasi teknologi budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitas perikanan di Kelurahan Limau Manis, Kecamatan Pauh, Kota Padang dan meningkatkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan petani ikan (masyarakat) Kelurahan Koto Tangah dalam bidang usaha pemeliharaan ikan Nila Nirwana di Sumatera Barat, sehingga diharapkan mereka dapat melakukan pemeliharaan dengan cara/teknik yang baik dan ramah lingkungan. Selain itu kegiatan IbDM ini juga diharapakan mampu mengurangi biaya operasional dalam pemeliharaan ikan Nila Nirwana dan pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan para petani (masyarakat) Kelurahan Limau Manis melalui pengembangan usaha budidaya ikan yang berkelanjutan. Untuk mencapai hasil diseminasi teknologi yang optimal maka sasaran utama IbDM di Kecamatan Pauh ini adalah kelompok tani ikan dan para pembina/pemuka masyarakat Kelurahan Limau Manis yang diharapkan mampu memberikan motivasi kepada petani untuk mensosialisasikan metoda pembuatan pakan formula alternatif untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif dan ramah lingkungan. Metoda yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah (1) Penyuluhan (ceramah), dengan materi utama : (a) memberikan pengetahuan tentang berbagai macam bahan baku yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk makanan ikan, (b) memberikan pengetahuan tentang penyusunan formula/komposisi makanan buatan, (c) memberikan pengetahuan tentang proses pembuatan makanan buatan (d) menambah pengetahuan masyarakat tentang cara menyimpan pelet yang baik agar lebih tahan lama dan (e) pemberian materi tentang pengujian mutu pakan, baik secara fisika, kimia dan biologis; dan (2) Peragaan pembuatan pakan pelet alternatif untuk budidaya ikan Nila Nirwana secara intensif. Dari hasil kegiatan IbDM ini didapatkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok tani Kelurahan Limau Manis Kec. Pauh, Padang sebelum dilaksanakan kegiatan IbDM ini masih sangat rendah. Namun demikian motivasi atau keinginan masyarakat kelompok tani mitra IbDM untuk melakukan usaha budidaya atau pemeliharaan ikan sangat besar. Hal ini terlihat dari keinginan masyarakat kelompok tani mitra IbDM untuk menguasai teknologi pembuatan pakan ikan dari hasil limbah daun dan batang talas yang diproses menjadi tepung relatif cukup tinggi. Lebih jauh dari hasil kegiatan IbDM pada masyarakat ini dapat menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mencari pakan alternatif untuk pakan ikan sehingga kegiatan budidaya dapat berjalan dengan baik di daerah mitra IbDM. Agar kegiatan budidaya berjalan dengan baik di daerah mitra IbDM perlu dilakukan kegiatan IbDM secara berkelanjutan tentang teknik pembuatan pelet ikan alternatif dan teknik pemeliharaan ikan yang efisien dan efektif. Disamping itu perlu dukungan dana atau pemberian kredit oleh pihak yang berwenang kepada masyarakat atau petani ikan untuk modal pengembangan usahanya.

Abstract

Lecturer and community based science and technology activities (IbDM) were carried out with the aim of disseminating technology for Gurame culture intensively in an effort to increase fisheries productivity in Limau Manis, Pauh Subdistrict, Padang City and increase the knowledge and skills of fish farmers (community) in Koto Tangah Village in the field of Gurame fish maintenance business in West Sumatra, so that they are expected to be able to carry out maintenance in a good / environmentally friendly manner. Besides this IbDM activities are also expected to be able to reduce operational costs in maintaining Nirwana Tilapia and in the end can increase the income of the farmers (community) of Limau Manis Village through the development of sustainable fish farming. To achieve optimal technology dissemination results, the main target of IbDM in Pauh Subdistrict is fish farmer groups and community leaders / leaders of Limau Manis Village who are expected to be able to motivate farmers to socialize the method of making alternative formula feeds for intensive development of Nirwana Tilapia aquaculture and environmentally friendly. The methods used in this activity are (1) counseling, with the main material: (a) providing knowledge of various kinds of raw materials that can be used for fish food, (b) providing knowledge about the preparation of artificial food formulas / compositions, ( c) provide knowledge about the process of making artificial food (d) increase public knowledge about how to store pellets that are good to be more durable and (e) provision of material on testing the quality of feed, both physically, chemically and biologically; and (2) Intensive demonstration of making alternative pellet feeds for Nirwana Tilapia aquaculture. From the results of the IbDM activity, it was found that the knowledge and skills of farmer groups in Limau Manis Sub-district, Kec. Pauh, Padang before the IbDM activities were carried out was still very low. However, the motivation or desire of the community of IbDM partner farmer groups to carry out the culture or maintenance of fish is very large. This can be seen from the desire of the IbDM partner farmer group to master the technology of making fish feed from the results of leaf waste and taro stems which are processed into flour relatively high. Furthermore, the results of IbDM activities in the community can increase the knowledge and skills of the community in finding alternative feed for fish feed so that culture activities can run well in IbDM partner areas. In order for aquaculture to run well in partner areas of IbDM, it is necessary to carry out IbDM activities continuously on the techniques of making alternative fish pellets and efficient and effective fish-raising techniques. Besides that, it needs financial support or credit by the authorities to the community or fish farmers for capital to develop their businesses.
