Abstract

The earthquake hit Bantul regency, Yogyakarta, has brought life lesson for us that preparedness is urgently demanded to face potential earthquake in the future. This publication aims to discover how is both government and society readiness to act when earthquake strikes on unprecedented times. Method employed was literature study method by conducting in-depth analysis towards literatures related to earthquake disaster in Bantul in the year of 2006. This study revealed that Bantul dwellers have been high alerted to face earthquake. The disaster preparedness covers a range of fields which are on public facility, information system, physics or building, economy, education, society’s capacities enhancement, and religion.

Abstract

The presence of the new Islamic civil society movement, which is generally represented by the salafism ideology, is a challenge for mainstream Islamic organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah. The new Islamic civil group called the splinter moves massively in four main social domains, namely private, public, market, and state. By using a qualitative method based on the sociological approach, this article will answer how the struggle between the mainstream Islamic civil groups and splinter civil groups in these four domains. This study concludes that the discourse of Islamic civil society in Indonesia today is very complex. Discourse does not only occur between state and non-state, but also between fellow Islamic civil groups. They contest each other in developing the private sphere, showing their existence in the public sphere, controlling and developing economic/market resources, and involving themselves in government/politics. Each group has their respective strategies in displaying their role so that it often causes friction. This condition requires open communication, mutual understanding and cooperation between all Islamic civil groups.

Abstract

Yudian Wahyudi voiced his idea that Indonesia (read: Pancasila) is a religious and secular country simultaneously. The idea arose because many said Indonesia was a secular country, on the other hand, it was also mentioned that Indonesia was a religious country. It is said as a secular country because Indonesia has a lot of 'oriented' to the West. While referred to as a religious country because it has the majority Muslim population in the world. This paper will explain the position of the Pancasila as the way of life of the Indonesian people, associated with the Qur'an which is a way of life for Muslims. In this context, al-Qur'an will be explained as the realm of its orality, as is the identity of the Qur'an delivered verbally: from Allah, the Angel Gabriel, the Prophet Muhammad to the Arab community (audience). In this case, reading the oral side of the Koran, through the theory of Orality from Walter J. Ong, will be important if it is realized that there are distinct characteristics for oral delivery, one of which is the context that was born in the oral demands of the present, that is, when the Qur'an is delivered verbally, then the solution-problem or message delivered is based on the current context. At this point, Pancasila is present on Indonesian soil to answer problems and give messages that are also based on the Indonesian context. Also, through the integration of general knowledge in understanding and applying the values of Pancasila and the beauty of the Qur'an, it will give birth to a national and religious attitude that always responds to the development of the times appropriately. Both of these life guidelines maintain Indonesia's existing identity - which is good and advance the life of the nation and state.

Abstract

The Islamic world, especially Indonesia, is increasingly experiencing moral and mental decline so that life is increasingly far from Islamic values. The emergence of extreme ideas and deviating from the truth also added to the atmosphere. It is wasaṭhiyyah, a moderate attitude in various aspects of life that is slowly being echoed by Muslim scholars in various parts of the world and is used as a powerful formula in dealing with the above problems. This research tries to discuss the concept of wasaṭhiyyah according to M. Quraish Shihab in Tafsir Al-Misbah. This research is classified as library research. The researcher used Hans-Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic analysis. With this analysis knife, the researcher found that the Tafsir Al-Misbah was written as a response to M. Quraish Shihab's response to the phenomena and conflicts that occurred at that time. The fusion between Shihab's understanding of wasaṭhiyyah with various horizons; text and society produces a concept of wasaṭhiyyah which is a fair, balanced and tolerant attitude in life, both in world and in the hereafter

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Kyai in the effort to empower students through the bil-hal da'wah method at one of the Islamic boarding schools in Yogyakarta. This type of research is field research. Data were collected through interview and observation methods. Through the emic approach, data analysis was carried out descriptively - qualitatively. The study results show that the bil-hal da'wah method carried out by Kyai has a positive impact on the students. This can be seen through three aspects; First, changes in theological morality and social morality for the better. Second, to cultivate the mentality of personality and social care. Third, create productivity of economic independence. However, it is still necessary to continue improving the students' competency skills (Human Resources). Apart from the shortcomings, the bil-hal da'wah method can be used as a role model for developing constructive da'wah, both for students and the wider community.

Abstract

Disaster is going to happen whenever and wherever people are. Not every area is equipped with early warning system towards disasters, alleviating people panic to become extremely serious issues that need solution. This publication aims to highlight the significance of disaster education for society so they can act accordingly when disaster strikes. Method used on this study was literature study method which is a method conducting by reading, scrutinizing, acknowledging, outlining, and analyzing literatures from books, journals, and secondary data related to disaster education. The study revealed that up to this time, there have been not a reliable method to employ for disaster education either in formal and non-formal education yet, even in informal one. However, in general, disaster education that can represent and be adopted as an alternative is in forms of disaster training, activities to promote people awareness, introduction of the topic through work publication, workshop or seminar, simulation, exhibition, and other activities based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This paper is about to discuss discourse as the identity of the Qur'an which is now in the form of writing (Mushaf). In its history, the Qur'an is present in an environment that is familiar with oral traditions, delivered in oral form from the Prophet (speaker) to the Arab community (listeners). Based on the oral delivery, the Al-Qur'an indicates to be examined in the discourse discourse. The result of this paper is the discourse on the oral level of the Qur'an and even the naming as the Qur'an. Until the Qur'an takes the form of a text (mushaf) which is met today by Muslims, but the structure of orality can still be found clearly. With the structure of orality, it certainly presents a specific understanding of orality, as was the revelation understood by the Prophet Muhammad as a speaker and the Arab community as opposed to speech. The occurrence of understanding between the Prophet Muhammad and the Arab Society gives an understanding that the Qur'an contains understanding at that time, so that if there is an inertia, then the Arab community will question the purpose of the verse delivered. From this, the context that is presented in the discourse of oral Qur'an is a clear context, which binds the speaker and listener, or also commonly referred to as contextual.

Abstract

Some online learning methods are experiencing very fast dynamics these days. The dynamics that are developing are a form of adjustment to the needs of lecturers and students when the Covid-19 pandemic is severe. Airlangga University's online learning system e-Learning Application (AULA) has tried to be maximized to face the current dynamics of change. This study aims to evaluate online learning in theoretical and practical classes. The evaluation is seen from the perceptions of students from the Vocational Faculty. This evaluation is used to analyze three main aspects of the use of AULA, namely delivery, interactive, and assessment in the implementation of theoretical and practicum courses. This evaluation research uses a quantitative approach with the main data collection being a questionnaire. In addition, in-depth interviews were also conducted to confirm the questionnaire. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the perceptions of students tend to be dissatisfied with the use of AULA in the practical class. Almost all sections in the interactive and assessment aspects have a fairly low score. The findings in this study indicate that the implementation of online practicum classes is still not able to accommodate students' interests related to the full mastery of skills from practicum classes. Although, the combination of vocational education and training with E-learning during a pandemic is considered the only logical choice. This is because learning objectives can only be achieved using this method compared to having to face to face during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Ummi dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran membaca Alquran siswa di SDI Asih Auladi serta faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Menurut penulis untuk bisa membaca Alquran dengan tartil (baik dan benar) diperlukan adanya metode atau cara yang khusus dalam pembelajaran agar proses pembelajaran lebih terarah dan sistematis. Dalam  melaksanakan  penelitian  ini  penulis  menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan tekhnik pengumpulan data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Setelah data didapatkan kemudian data tersebut diolah dengan beberapa tekhnik yaitu editing dan interpretasi data. Selanjutnya semua data dianalisa menggunakan tekhnik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Secara keseluruhan siswa di Sekolah Dasar Islam  Asih Auladi ini membutuhkan bimbingan dan arahan dari guru agar siswa lebih giat dalam belajar membaca Alquran. (2) Penerapan metode Ummi yang dilakukan guru dalam pembelajaran Alquran berdampak baik terhadap meningkatnya kemampuan membaca Alquran siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari daya serap dan perilaku siswa yang tampak setelah melakukan proses pembelajaran Alquran dengan metode Ummi. (3) adanya peserta didik yang belum mampu membaca Alquran sesuai dengan metode Ummi, diantaranya dalam penyesuaian nada bacaan metode Ummi. (4) Terdapat faktor penghambat dan pendukung pembelajaran Alquran dengan metode Ummi, faktor pendukungnya adalah alat peraga yang digunakan, dan guru Alquran yang sudah tersertifikasi. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah dari siswa itu sendiri, guru Alquran itu sendiri, dan kurangnya tempat untuk pembelajaran Alquran dengan metode Ummi.
