Abstract

The aim of this research was to increase growth rapid, maturity, and shorthening catfish reproduction cycle in order to produce catfish’s broodstock continously, specially in Boyolali regency. Research was carried out at Janti, Klaten from July to November 2007. The research was an experimental research which tested two groups. One group is control group that used catfish without any treantment, and the other is a group of catfish which is treated by laser. Parameters used in this research are the growth of catfish, Gonad Maturity Index, Gonad Maturity Level, time of maturity and reproduction cycle. Data was analyzed by descriptive analysis and t test. The results show that soft laser shooting on the governoer vessel of catfish would give influence in catfish’s growth, Gonad Maturity Index, Gonad Maturity Level, time of maturity and reproduction cycle. The use of laser shooting not depend on season.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jangka waktu induksi laserpunktur pada titik reproduksi terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad, gonado somatic indeks, dan kadar lemak ikan lele (Clarias sp). Sebanyak 36 calon induk ikan lele jantan yang berumur sekitar 8-9 bulan dengan berat 1,2 &ndash; 1,3 kg yang diperoleh dari Kediri diaklimatisasi selama 14 hari. Ikan lele dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, kelompok kontrol dan kelompok yang diinduksi laserpunktur, masing-masing kelompok diberi perlakuan jangka waktu induksi 0, 14, dan 30 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan induksi laserpunktur berpengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad, gonado somatic indeks, dan kadar lemak ikan lele (Clarias sp). Induksi laserpunktur dengan jangka waktu 14 hari merupakan jangka waktu induksi laserpunktur terbaik untuk meningkatkan kematangan gonad dan gonado somatic indeks masing- masing dengan nilai 5,5 dan 0,71%. Abstract

Laserpuncture exposure at the reproductive acupoint of broodstock catfishes female shown to speed maturation of the gonads. To accelerate the gonadal maturation broodstock catfish due to exposure needed laserpuncture adequate feed, especially protein content results. if laserpuncture exposure is not balanced feeding containing adequate protein, the lower quality of eggs produced. The purpose of this study to examine whether time, the level of protein in the feed and laserpuncture exposure broodstock catfish female can increase the value of GSI. RAK experimental study using a 3x5x2 factorial pattern was repeated 3 times. Factor 1 is the feed protein level of 30%, 35%, and 40%. Factor 2 is pre-spawning time, weeks 0, 3rd, 6th and 9th. Factor 3 is laserpuncture exposure and control. To get the value of GSI by weighing the weight and gonads. The sample used in this study broodstock catfish 1-year-old female with a weight range from 1100 to 1400 grams have never spawned. GSI value analysis using ANOVA Gen Stat program version 15. Results showed laserpuncture exposure at the reproduction acupoint of which is offset by the provision of feed protein level of 30%, 35% and 40% and the length of time proved to have a significant effect (P <0.05) increase in value GSI. The length of time, giving the feed protein level of 30% and laserpuncture exposure proved effective to increase the value of GSI, gonad maturation time can be accelerated three weeks compared to the control group. Abstract

Bakteri Escheria coli merupakan indikator utama sanitasi lingkungan termasuk air konsumsi. Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan serbuk kaktus centong (Opuntia cochenillifera) terhadap kejernihan, jumlah bakteri total dan E.coli air sungai. Sebanyak 5 perlakuan konsentrasi serbuk kaktus (0, 0,5,1,0, 1,5 dan 2,0 g/l) masing-masing ditambahkan ke dalam 1 l air sungai Jagir. Setelah diaduk merata, campuran dibiarkan selama 3 hari pada suhu ruang, dan disaring menggunakan kertas saring. Pengukuran kerjernihan filtrat dilakukan menggunakan TDS meter, jumlah bakteri total dan E. coli diukur menggunakan metode plate count agar. Semua perlakuan konsentrasi serbuk kaktus diulang 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan serbuk kaktus berpengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) terhadap kejernihan, jumlah bakteri total, dan E.coli. Penggunaan serbuk kaktus 2,0 g/l signifikan (P<0,05) dapat meningkatkan kejernihan air sampai 21,5 pt-co, serta menurunkan jumlahbakteri total sampai 1,2 x 102 dan E. coli sampai 0,1 x 101. Hasil penelitian dapat simpulkan bahwa serbuk kaktus centong dapat digunakan sebagai bahan dasar pengolahan air bersih untuk meningkatkan kejernihan dan menurunkan jumlah bakteri total dan E. coli.

Abstract

Snakefish fishing continuously can reduce the number of mature stem gonad great sizenya increasingly few in number in nature will certainly affect the reduction in seed production in the waters and may even become extinct. Efforts should be made restoking with laserpuncture technology. Laserpuncture technology has been shown to accelerate the maturation of the gonads in tilapia, catfish, shrimp, crab, but has never been tried on the snakefish brood (Channa striata). The purpose of this study to obtain optimum exposure time laserpuncture at the acupoint of reproduction to increase the value of HSI and GSI snakefish (Channa striata) male parent in order to get ready for spawning. Research experiments using CRD with 5 treatments and repeated 3 times. To get the value of HSI and GSI by weighing the weight, liver weight and gonadnya. The sample used in this study snakefish brood 1 year old male with a weight range from 1100-1400 grams have never spawn. HSI and GSI value analysis using ANOVA Gen Stat program version 15. The results showed exposure at the acupoint of reproduction laserpuncture significant effect (P <0.05) increase in the value of HSI and GSI. Laserpuncture exposure time at the acupoint of reproduction for 4 seconds proved to be optimal to increase the value of HSI and GSI parent catfish than in controls. Abstract

This study aimed to test the speed of spawning and the number of fertilized eggs at the parent catfish (Clarias sp) post-induction laserpuncture and ovaprim. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology, University of PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. The experimental design used was completely randomized design. The study consisted of three treatments, induction laserpuncture in reproductive acupoint precisely at 2/3 of the ventral body for 15 seconds, giving ovaprim 0.4 ml/kg body weight and control (without induction laserpuncture and without giving ovaprim), each repeated six times. Total catfish male parent used as many as 18 heads and parent female catfish as many as 18 heads of all the conditions are ripe gonads. Number of pools that use a total of 18 pools (for spawning catfish). The data collected is spawning catfish speed and the number of fertilized eggs. The results showed that the induction of laserpuncture precisely at 2/3 the ventral body for 15 seconds reproductive acupoint fastest spawning effect and eggs fertilization hight significant than ovaprim and control. Abstract

Sword white lentils (Canavalia ensiformis (L) have hight potential to be used as raw material for food processing products. Study aimed to find optimum sword white lentils dose as raw material for yoghurt. Study have conducted using a completely randomized experimental design consisted of 5 doses of lentils (333, 250, 200, 167 and 143 g/l medium) with 4 replication. Fermentation procces have conducted using Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus 1:1 in ration for 12 h. Results showed dose of lentils significant effect (P <0.05) on bacterial counts, levels of carbon and nitrogen, and viscosity and organoleptic properties of yogurt. Bacterial count, Levels of carbon and nitrogen as well as yogurt highest viscosity obtained at doses lentils 333 g/l. Nevertheless, the organoleptic properties of yogurt were most preferred by the panelists obtained at doses lentils 200 g/l. Study conclude sword white lentils can be used as raw material for making yoghurt with the best dosage is 200 g/l medium. Abstract

Feed is an important element that can support the growth and survival of fish. Feed that is suitable for nutrition and high digestion value can support maximum growth in cultivated fish. S. plastensisis a type of cyanobacteria that contains nutrients such as proteins, essential fatty acids, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition S. plastensis powder in feed on the growth, SR and FCR of catfish seeds. Experimental study with 5 treatments and 5 replications, treatment A (S. plastensis powder 0 g / kg feed), treatment B (S. plastensis powder 2 g / kg feed), C treatment (S. plastensis powder 3 g / kg feed) and treatment D (S. plastensis powder 4 g / kg feed), and E treatment (S. plastensis powder 6 g / kg feed). Abstract

Kultur jaringan merupakan salah satu teknik budidaya tanaman secara vegetatif yang dapat digunakan untuk perbanyakan tanaman dengan waktu yang relatif singkat dengan menggunakan media tanam yang mengandung unsur hara mikro, makro dan zat pengatur tumbuh. Pengenalan dan pelatihan teknik kultur jaringan yang ditujuhkan kepada guru MGMP Biologi se-Jawa Timur dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tambahan pengetahuan dalam memperkenalkan kultur jaringan saat mengajar di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan virtual web conference. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner didapatkan peserta mengalami kenaikan hasil sebesar 59,26% tentang pengenalan dan pelatihan teknik kultur jaringan (teknis kultur jaringan, tahap persiapan, tahap inisiasi, tahap multiplikasi, tahap aklimatisasi).
