Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that not only requires treatment but also lifestyle changes, so that often patients tend to despair with a long therapy program that will have an impact on the quality of life of patients. This study aimed to determine the correlation of family roles and the quality of life (QOL) of patients with Diabetes Mellitus. The design of this study was cross sectional analytic type. The population was all patients with diabetes mellitus and family on May-July 2018 at Dr Wahidin Sudiro Husodo General Hospital in Mojokerto as many as 96 people. The sample was 57 respondents taken by purposive sampling. The independent variable was family roles. The dependent variable was the quality of life. The instrument used a questionnaire of family roles and the quality of life. The data analysis used the Spearman statistical test. The results showed that 32 respondents (56.7%) or almost half of the respondents had enough family roles, almost all of the respondents or 38 respondents (66.7%) had a high quality of life of, and the results of p <α = 0.05 was 0.046 <0.05. There was a correlation between the role of family and the quality of life of patient with diabetes mellitus. The role of a good family can improve the quality of life of patients with Diabetes Mellitus. The better the role of the family, the higher the level of quality of life of the sufferer. Therefore the family can play a role in improving the quality of life Diabetes Mellitus sufferers.

Abstract

Leprosy is the ill that caused by mycobacterium leprae bacteria, which caused complex problem for leprosy sufferer. It gives bad effect in some aspects such as physic, social, economy, and psychology. Psychologically, the leprosy sufferer gets the problem because of too much stigma to leprosy by society. Consequently, the leprosy sufferer stands aloof from the others, he feels shy, and gets depression. One of non-pharmacology treatment that can decrease the level of depression is Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which is an approach with someone to recognize and to change the bad mindset or maladaptive. This present research is to reveal the influence of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to decrease the level of depression for leprosy sufferer. The design of this present research is Pre-experiment with One Group Pre-Post Test Desaint approach. The 25 samples are taken by Consecutive Sampling. The data collection is collected by Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) questionnaire. Statistic test is used by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, which showed p (0,001) < α(0,05), with the result that H0 is rejected, it means there is an influence of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to decrease the level of depression for leprosy sufferer. Most of the leprosy sufferer in a hospitalization leprosy service get lower depression. The sufferers often need psychology intervention to treat on depression. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is psychology therapy that quiet simple because the key of CBT identifies the mindset, feel, and behavior, which mold reaction. Furthermore, the sufferers decide by their own ability whether the idea is rational and benefit for them

Abstract

The prevalence of HIV cases increases significantly in the vulnerable population; it is Transvestite. The high prevalence of HIV in transgenders requires treatment and treatment services. However, until now the transgender community is a group that is often not served in various health facilities. Transvestite identity intersections produce unique life experiences, such as multiple identities and spiritual identities. The purpose of the study was to explore the experience of transgender HIV patients when hospitalized in fulfilling spiritual needs. Research method with qualitative design phenomenology study approach. This study involved 12 transvestite participants who had been hospitalized because of HIV positive. Retrieving data using in-depth interviews, data analysis using Colaizzi. The results of the study found four themes namely (1) Spiritual according to HIV patients transvestites means believing in the existence of God; (2) Be grateful for the conditions they have; (3) get closer to God by doing good things; (4) Poor nurse services for transgender HIV patients.

Abstract

The onset of disability prevention efforts on lepers who have yet to experience a disability. One of the factors that influence self-care lepers is family participation. The purpose of this research was to prove the relationship family participation with in the prevention of disability lepers. This Design of this research was Analytic korelasionalwith crossectional approach. Population research namely whole leprosy in the outpatient room atSumberglagah hospital Pacet Mojokerto as much as 137 survivors. Samples taken with the concecutivesamplingtechnique as much as 20 respondents. There are two research variablewere family participation as the independent variable and the dependent variable as a disability prevention. Data collected by questionnaire instrument. Then the results of and tested with Chi-Square. The results showed that respondents from 11 his family participate in the prevention of disability most respondents can prevent the onset of disability as many as 10 respondents (55%) and 9 (45%) respondents were not able to prevent the occurrence of disability. and 19 respondents whose families participate less mostly not able to prevent the occurrence of defects as much as 11 respondents (55%) and which can prevent the onset of disability 9 respondents (45%). Chi-Square test results retrieved data ρ = 0.008 <α = 0.05 it means H1 accepted so there is a connection With Family participation in the prevention of disability. This shows the more active participation of the family given in lepers will be leprosy will be able to do the prevention of leprosy disability well anyway. So expect more families be active in the care of lepers in the home and can encourage the sufferer to be able to do self care on a regular basis in preventing the onset of disability

Abstract

Background: The spread of the COVID-19 virus has spread widely throughout the world, which affects various aspects (Lebov et al., 2017). Several aspects affected by the transmission of the COVID-19 virus are psychological / mental health impacts caused by the implementation of policies from various countries in the form of a physical distancing system (Ornell, Schuch, Sordi, & Kessler, 2020). Objectives: Analyze the relationship between physical distancing and the mental health of Indonesian community during Covid-19. Methods: The cross-sectional study design. The sample of the study was the Indonesian people affected by the covid-19 pandemic who were taken based on purposive sampling with complete answer criteria as many as 1,090 respondents. The research instrument consisted of 2 questionnaires, including: a method questionnaire in physical distancing practices methods consisting of 11 items of physical distancing application to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus as recommended by World Health Organization. The Self-Reporting Questionnaire-29 is a questionnaire issued by the Directorate of Mental Health Services of the Indonesian Ministry of Health with the domains of anxiety and depression, psychomatics, symptoms of psychotic disorders, trauma stress. Parametric statistical tests used the Pearson test (p-value < 0.05). Results: The results obtained a p-value of 0.03, which means that there is a physical distancing relationship with the mental health of the Indonesian people during Covid-19. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between physical distancing and the mental health of the Indonesian people. Recommendations for health workers, especially nurses in providing health services to the community, must be more comprehensive and recognize client responses to prevent psychological impacts.

Abstract

Brain injury is non-degenerative and non-cogenital abnormality of brain which is caused by the external mechanic trauma, so it can cause the cognitive unapropriate, physical and psychosocial function which can be temporary or permanent, realated to some levels of consciousness. The quantitive evaluation of consciousness by looking the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is between 9 and 12. One of the auditory stimulations is by musical theraphy. Music can be functioned as the tool of health theraphy. Music has the electrical wave on the brain can be fasten or not, and at the same time, the body system activity will face changes. The research was done in the room of Kahuripan Prof.Dr.Soekandar Hospital with the population of 25 patients with medium brain injury which contains with GCS 9-12. Thus the sample with the correct criterion can be reached, that are 18 patients. The musical theraphy was given in three days, and then the data using non-probability sampling technique accidental sampling. Music therapy for 3 days and then do the tabulation of data was tested by using modus analysis. The value of Glasgow Coma Scale before the treatment of musical theraphy in the room of Kahuripan Prof.Dr.Soekandar Hospital was more than a half of the respondents (77,8%) with 10-11. The GCS value after the treatment, there were 12 respondents (66,7%) who have the rise of GCS value from 10 to 12. There was an influence of musical theraphy to the GCS value of the patients with medium brain injury in Kahuripan Room Prof.Dr. Soekandar Hospital, which was proved by the modus value before the treatmentwhich was only GCS 10, and after the treatment it became GCS 12.
