Abstract

This study aims to strengthen the democratic character of young citizens in an educational environment. In detail, this study's objectives are to (1) establish a democratic character for young citizens in schools, and (2) strengthen democratic character in young citizens in the classroom. This article is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach investigating the reinforcement of the democratic character of young citizens. The data were gathered using in-depth interview techniques. The validity tests consisted of three activities, namely: 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) drawing conclusions or verification. The research results suggest that the strengthening of democratic character for young citizens has been provided through school and classroom activities. Schools play a role in strengthening students' democratic character through activities such as student council and extracurricular activities that facilitate students to develop their democratic character. Simultaneously, the teacher reinforces students’ democratic character in class while teaching. The reinforcement of democratic character is carried out so that students know that they have equal rights as students in the classroom and school

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out the Simbur Cahaya Law in regulating marriage law in the Palembang Sultanate. In this paper the author focuses on the Marriage Law in Palembang, because many people in Palembang currently use the marriage law that existed during the Palembang Sultanate. The use of marriage law in the Palembang Sultanate was used to preserve the noble cultural values that have existed since ancient times. The cultural values contained in the marriage law in the Palembang Sultanate are currently dynamic, adjusting to the existing conditions in the Palembang community. This article was compiled using the library research method, which is a method of collecting data by utilizing sources and library materials. The result of the conclusion obtained is that the Simbur Cahaya Law is a law that adapts Islamic and customary law. On the initiative of Ratu Sinuhun, the law was made as a general rule in all the Palembang residences. The law contains regulated public relations including regulations in the field of marriage and single girl, clan, village and farming, clan, and punishment. The marriage ceremony ceremony in the Sultanate of Palembang is explained in the Simbur Cahaya Law in the first chapter which explains the custom of single and married women is in article 1, article 4, article 5, article 12, article 13, and article 14 which explains how ethics in good relations men and women, and marriage. The stages of the traditional wedding ceremony are: 1) before the wedding, namely madik, menyenggung, meminang atau ngelamar, berasan, mutus kato; 2) the implementation of marriage; and 3) after marriage.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural and diverse nation. one form of diversity in Indonesia is the issue of religion. Diversity in terms of religion can trigger conflict, which can damage Indonesia's culture which is so tolerant among fellow religious communities. Indonesia has the values of local wisdom that form the basis for the creation of religious harmony must be maintained and preserved. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. This research aims to determine the harmony of religious community trough local wisdom. The results showed that religious harmony in the perspective of local wisdom in the city of Kupang through: Nusi (cooperation). Butukila (bond and hold a sense of brotherhood. Suki Toka Apa (supporting and helping each other. Muki Nena (a sense of belonging and belonging)) This philosophy is a guideliness for the people in Kupang, namely "Lil Au Zero Dael Banan" that in building and maintaining the City Kupang for the better is the duty of all citizens regardless of religion, ethnicity or race.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam teknik pematrian lampu andong Kotagede menggunakan alat tapal kuda. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode etnografi yang diuraikan dengan cara deskriptif menggunakan multi metode yang fokus, melibatkan interpretasi, pendekatan alamiah pada materi subjek. Subjek penelitian adalah budayawan dan pengrajin di Kotagege. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dusun Mutihan Kotagede Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Peneliti mengunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi partisipan, wawancara terstruktur, studi pustaka, dokumentasi dan eksperimen. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data melalui kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, konsfirmabilitas serta triangulasi. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data serta verifikasi data/penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa teknik patri tapal kuda yang ampuh dan multi guna pada teknik mematri kriya logam juga terdapat nilai-nilai falsafah jawa yang sudah tercermin dalam nilai-nilai karakter yang terdiri dari: urip iku urup (peduli sosial), alon-alon waton kelakon (tanggung jawab), nrimo ing pandum (jujur), aja adigang adigung adiguno (toleransi), dan memayu hayunning bawana ambrasta dur hangkara (religius).

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi penanaman nilai-nilai karakter religius dan karakter kebangsaan di MTs Al Falah Jatinangor Sumedang, kendala-kendala apa saja yang muncul dan strategi yang ditempuh oleh MTs Al Falah Jatinangor Sumedang untuk meminimalisasi kendala-kendala tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah bidang kesiswaan, guru pembimbing, guru mata pelajaran PKn, dan siswa MTs Al Falah Jatinangor Sumedang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, pengamatan, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan teknik induktif. Penelitian menghasilkan temuan: (1) Penanaman nilai-nilai karakter di MTs Al Falah Jatinangor belum berjalan secara optimal; (2) Kendala-kendala yang muncul antara lain minimnya dukungan dari orang tua siswa, dampak negatif dari lokasi sekolah yang dekat lingkungan perkotaan, dampak negatif media elektronik dan media sosial, dan menurunnya sikap religius siswa; (3) Strategi yang dilakukan untuk meminimalisasi kendala-kendala yang muncul antara lain menjalin kerja sama dengan orang tua siswa dan masyarakat sekitar, menghimbau orang tua siswa untuk lebih memperhatikan putra-putrinya, dan memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa akan pentingnya nilai-nilai karakter religius. Kata kunci: implementasi, penanaman nilai, karakter religius, karakter kebangsaan.  CULTIVATING RELIGIOUS AND NATIONAL CHARACTER IN AL FALAH ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL JATINANGOR SUMEDANG  Abstract: This research is intended to describe implementation of religious and nationality moral values in Al Falah Islamic Junior High School Jatinangor Sumedang, problems related to the implementation andstrategic steps undertaken by Al Falah Islamic Junior High School Jatinangor Sumedang to respond to the problems. The type of the research is descriptive research with phenomenology approach. The subjects were the head of the madrasah, vice head of the student affair office, counseling teacher, civic subject teacher, and the students of Al Falah Islamic Junior High School. The data gathering with interview, obseravtion, and documentation. The data was analyzed through inductive method.     The result of the research showed that implementation of religious and nationality moral values in Al Falah Islamic Junior High School Jatinangor Sumedang was yet to reach an optimal level. The problems related to the implementation including a minimum support from the parent, negative influence of the urban neighborhood where the school belongs, negative influence of electronic and social media, and a dceline in the religiosity of the students. Strategic steps undertaken to respond to the problems including a joint work between parents and society, a call to the parents for a better supervision, and a better implementation of understanding about religious and moral values. Keywords: implementation, and value cultivating, religious character, national character.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengembangkan model pembelajaran soft skills terpadu, (2) menganalisis keberhasilan pelaksanaan pembelajaran soft skills terpadu, dan (3) me-nganalisis dampak penerapan model pembelajaran Soft Skills Terpadu dalam pembelajaran Penjasorkes di Sekolah Menengah Pertama terhadap siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research Development). Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII pada 4 SMP Negeri di Kota Yoyakarta. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tahap pengembangan model pembelajaran soft skills terpadu dalam pembelajaran Penjasorkes adalah tahap pendahuluan, pengembangan, dan evaluasi dengam hasil perangkat model berupa buku panduan, perangkat penilaian, dan instrumen pengembangan model pembelajaran. (2) Model pembelajaran soft skills terpadu dalam pembelajaran Penjasorkes menunjukkan tingkat keterlaksanaan yang tergolong sangat baik, memenuhi kriteria valid, sangat efektif, dan sangat praktis. (3) Model pembelajaran Soft Skills Terpadu dalam pembelajaran Penjasorkes di Sekolah Menengah Pertama mampu mengembangkan soft skills siswa.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran soft skills terpadu, pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani, olahraga, dan kesehatan, sekolah menengah pertama DEVELOPING INTEGRATED SOFT SKILLS LEARNING MODEL IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SPORT, HEALTH, AND RECREATION INSTRUCTION IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLAbstractThis research is aimed at: (1) developing integrated soft skills learning model, (2) analyzing the success of integrated soft skills learning model implementation, and (3) analyzing the impact of the implementation of integrated soft skills learning model in physical education, sport, health, and recreation instruction on the students of junior high school. The research was a research adn development (R D). The subject of the research was students of grade VII in four junior high schools in Yogyakarta Municipality. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative and quantitative descriptive method. The result of the research shows that: (1) The stages of developing integrated soft skills learning model in physical education, sport, health, and recreation instruction include the stages of introduction, development, and evaluation which results model set in the form of handbook, assessment set, and instrument of learning model development. (2) Integrated soft skills learning model in physical education, sport, health, and recreation instruction reveals a very good level of implementation, fulfills the ‘valid’ citerion, is very effective and also practical. (3) Integrated soft skills learning model in physical education, sport, health, and recreation instruction in junior high school is capable to develop students’ soft skills.Keywords: integrated soft skills learning model; physical education, sport, health, and recreation instruction; junior high school

Abstract

EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI PERGURUAN TINGGIAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi, terutama bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan responden berjumlah 129 mahasiswa UNY yang diambil secara acak. Data dikumpulkan dengan angket dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum implementasi pendidikan karakter sudah berjalan dengan sangat baik dan sudah berhasil sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, meskipun masih ada yang perlu ditingkatkan kualitasnya. Implementasi nilai-nilai karakter bagi mahasiswa yang termuat dalam visi secara umum sudah berhasil dengan sangat baik, meskipun ada beberapa capaian aspek karakter yang kurang baik. Keberhasilan implementasi pendidikan karakter karena dukungan sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Namun demikian, masih ada beberapa hambatan dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter di antaranya banyaknya jumlah mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang yang berbeda, belum adanya komitmen yang sama tentang pendidikan karakter dari warga dan belum adanya peraturan yang tegas serta dana khusus yang cukup untuk mengawal implementasi pendidikan karakter.AbstractThis study was aimed at evaluating the implementation of character education program at the university level, especially for the students. This study was categorized as evaluation research. This study was conducted at Yogyakarta State University (YSU) with the respondents of 129 students which was chosen using random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative descriptive method. The results show that in general the implementation of character education at the university level had been going very well and had been successful as planned, although there were still things that needed to be improved in quality. Implementation of character values for students contained in the vision of YSU in general has been very successful. There are some achievements of character aspects that are not good. The successful implementation of character education at YSU is due to the support of existing facilities and infrastructure. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of character education at YSU, including a large number of students from different backgrounds, the absence of the same commitment about character education from YSU residents, and the absence of strict regulations and insufficient funds to oversee the implementation of character education at YSU.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to describe the implementation of character education, identifying the affected factors and to analyze the right solution to solve the problem in the implementation of character education through the learning process of Civic and Pancasila Education for the students of Islamic boarding (pesantren) based school. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The selection of the research subject is used by purposive technique. The data collection of the research is used by non-participant observation, interview and documentation. The validity of the research is used by triangulation. The data analysis process is based on the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman which include the data reduction, data display and drawing conclusion. The results showed that; (1) The implementation of character education through the learning process of Civic and Pancasila Education is through three phases namely plan, action and evaluation; (2) The supporting factors for character education include the boarding school environment of the islamic boarding school, the majority of teachers are alumni of the Islamic boarding school, and scout extracurriculer activity, while the inhibiting factors include the different characteristics of the santri, the distance between the santri male dormitory and the madrasah which is so far that the teacher cannot communicate directly, and the learning duration is small; (3) the possible solutions that will optimalize the learning results are the point system; when the students breaking the rules is 25 points as a warning and 50 points to reprimand the students, and the coordination and cooperation between madrasah and the boarding house.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran guru dan kepala sekolah dalam pendidikan karakter siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran guru dalam pendidikan karakter siswa di SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta yaitu; (a) sebagi pendidik yaitu, peran yang berkaitan dengan tugas memberikan bantuan dan dorongan  terhadap aturan-aturan sekolah dan norma hidup dalam keluarga dan masyarak; (b) sebagai teladan yaitu, guru menjadikan dirinya sebagai panutan bagi siswa (c) motivator yaitu, dengan adanya kemampuan guru dalam membangkitkan spirit, etos kerja, dan potensi yang luar biasa dalam diri peserta didik; (d) sebagai pengajar dan pembimbing yaitu, setiap guru harus memberikan pengetahuan, keterampilan pada siswa. Selain itu, peran kepala sekolah dalam pendidikan karakter siswa yaitu sebagai berikut: (a) manajer yaitu, sebagai penentu kebijakan yang mampu mengakomodir seluruh kebutuhan siswa terkait pendidikan karakter; (b) pemimpin yaitu, memberikan petunjuk dan pengawasan, kemampuan mengambil keputusan, dan kemampuan berkomunikasi; (c) mendorong semua guru dan karyawan untuk menjadi model karakter yang baik bagi semua siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh micro teaching dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler terhadap pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini ex-post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian yaitu 54 mahasiswa yang sudah menempuh mata kuliah micro teaching sekaligus juga mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab mahasiswa. Sumbangan efektif micro teaching sebesar 34,6%. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mahasiswa terhadap pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab mahasiswa. Sumbangan efektif kegiatan ekstrakurikuler sebesar 10,4%. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan micro teaching dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mahasiswa secara bersama-sama terhadap pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab, ditunjukkan dengan nilai F hitung (20,823) lebih besar dari F tabel (3,18) dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05, dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 45,0%.
