Abstract

Abstracts. This study aims to determine the readiness of 2017 Electrical Engineering Education (PTE) students in facing Industrial Practices (PI). The existence of Higher Education (PT) especially vocational education plays an important role in the nation's development going forward, because the current condition of globalization requires professional and skilled workers who must be able to work in accordance with their competencies. The development of increasingly sophisticated technology requires an increase in the quality of Human Resources (HR) who inevitably adapt to these changes. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The population of this research is eight lecturers of PI supervisors and 32 PTE fifth semester students. The evaluation results show that PTE students are ready to do PIs, this is supported by the level of student knowledge, socialization carried out by PTE study programs as well as adequate basic skills of students. In the PTE student activities implementing PI has been going well which is supported by the ability of students to adapt in the industrial environment. PI assessment is done by paying attention to attendance, discipline, motivation, work quality, initiative, creativity, behavior and work skills.

Abstract

Setiap harinya manajemen sampah rumah tangga atau sampah domestik semakin meningkat, keaktifan dari peran masyarakat di desa Citaman dalam mengelola sampah sangat dibutuhkan. Oleh karenanya, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat sangat membantu masyarakat desa Citaman dalam mengelolah sampah yang baik untuk sampah organik maupun non organik. Permasalahan dalam kegiatan ini adalah bagaimanakah cara memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya bank sampah dalam masyarakat untuk memilah-milah jenis sampah menjadi barang-barang kerajinan yang bernilai ekonomi. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah dengan kegiatan diskusi pemberdayaan kepada masyarakat Citaman RT 08, RW 13 pada kecamatan Ciomas di lokasi, yaitu di Pedukuhan Desa Citaman, Kecamatan Ciomas Serang Banten.Hasil kegiatan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Citaman memberikan bekal keterampilan kepada masyarakat untuk mengelola bank sampah, dengan upaya mengurangi dan memanfaatkan ulang. Kegiatan pengabdian ini cukup efektif karena bahan-bahan yang diperlukan ada di sekitar masyarakat setempat yaitu dengan dihasilkan suatu produk kerajinan dari sampah, berupa lampion dan bunga dari sedotan bekas, pigura dan tempat pensil dari karton dan plastik bekas dari tempat minuman.

Abstract

 Developmental problems concerned by parents are a further diagnostic step for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Research is needed to find a picture of the child's behavior complained of by parents. Investigations about first concerns among parents of children with ASD and comparisons of the same with children diagnosed with other developmental disorders are rare. We want to examine the type and age of parents ‘concern in children with ASD and other developmental disorders. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Child Developmental Centre in Surabaya Indonesia from August 1 to December 30, 2019. T-test and chi-square tests were used to analyze differences in subject variables and types of concern. Most parents of both children diagnosed with ASD and non-ASD indicated first concern were in communication, social skill, and behavior problem. The average age of parents’ first concern of ASD children is 30,14 months. Significant differences were found between ASD and non-ASD groups in communications, behavior, and sensory problem concerns. There is no specific difference between parental concerns of children with ASD and non-ASD children. The average age of first concern was significantly younger for children with an ASD diagnosis than other developmental disorders.Keywords             :parent concern, autism, communication.Correspondence     :dian_dwisary@yahoo,com

Abstract

Peternakan ayam di Indonesia pada saat ini kebanyakan masih bersifat konvensional. Penggunaan motor listrik 3 fasa ini memiliki tujuan untuk mempermudah pengusaha peternakan untuk pemberian pakan ayam yang biasanya dilakukan dengan cara menuangkan pakan pada ayam secara satu persatu menjadi sistem otomatis dalam pemberian pakan. Dalam hal ini pemberian pakan menjadi dapat terjadwal sehingga dibuatlah sistem fedding farm. Farm feeding system beroperasi untuk memberikan pakan kepada ayam secara otomatis berdasarkan jadwal yang sudah ditentukan. Pada analisa peneliti lakukan jadwal pemberian pakan dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali dalam sehari, dalam pengoperasian motor listriknya sendiri tidak mengalami kendala namun kendala yang terjadi terdapat pada jalur dan rantai yang digunakan sebagai penyaluran pakan pada ayam.

Abstract

Data Riskesdas tahun 2013 menunjukkan adanya peningkatan prevalensi pendek (stunting) pada remaja usia 16-18 tahun. Pertumbuhan tinggi badan akan mengalami kenaikan kecepatan pertumbuhan pada saat pubertas dan berakhir saat terjadinya menarche. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara usia pubertas dan usia menarche dengan tinggi badan mahasiswa bidan Universitas Airlangga. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Bidan Universitas Airlangga yang berusia kurang dari atau sama dengan 20 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling dan uji statistik Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 102 mahasiswa dengan rata-rata usia 18,8 tahun (SD±0,64), tidak ada perbedaan bermakna usia pubertas (p=0,643) dan usia menarche (p=0,198) dengan tinggi badan. Kesimpulan penelitian tidak ada hubungan antara usia pubertas dan usia menarche dengan tinggi badan mahasiswa bidan Universitas Airlangga.

Abstract

Kuantisasi warna citra merupakan operasi penting pada banyak aplikasi grafik dan pengolahan citra.  Metode kuantisasi warna banyak dilakukan dengan menggunakan algoritma klasterisasi data. Kepopuleran k-means sebagai algoritma klasterisasi data yang telah umum, ternyata belum mendapat cukup perhatian pada literatur kuantisasi warna. Hal ini disebabkan karena mahalnya biaya komputasi dan sensitivitasnya terhadap pengaruh pemilihan pusat klaster. Penelitian ini memberikan metode percepatan algoritma k-means untuk kuantisasi warna. Metode yang diajukan melibatkan beberapa modifikasi pada k-means konvensional, seperti pengurangan data, pembobotan data, dan penggunaan prinsip  pertidaksamaan segitiga untuk mempercepat pencarian ketetanggaan terdekat. Ujicoba dilakukan dengan beragam citra dan menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi yang telah dilakukan mampu memperlihatkan bahwa k-means juga sangat kompetitif sebagai algoritma  kuantisasi warna citra, baik dalam segi efektivitas maupun efisiensinya.

Abstract

Health-related stigma causes a negative impact on the lives of affected people and undermines the effectiveness of public health programs. This study aimedto explore experiences and consequences of stigma among people affected by four health conditions relevant in Indonesia– HIV (Human ImmunodeficiencyVirus), leprosy, schizophrenia and diabetes. In this qualitative study 40 people affected by the four health conditions in Jakarta and West Java, Indonesia–,were interviewed between March and June 2018. Data were analyzed thematically by following an integrative inductive-deductive approach. The experiencesand consequences of people with stigma were similar, but such experience were more severe among people affected by HIV, leprosy, and schizophrenia.Those with diabetes either experienced no or less severe stigma. The participants revealed that they experienced enacted stigma in healthcare, employment,and social interactions in the structural and interpersonal levels. They also experience the stigma in the form of internalized and anticipated stigma at an individual level. Incidences of human rights violations were evident. Social, behavioral, psychological, and medical consequences were also reported.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain a concentration of soursop leaf flour extract which is effective to control the larvae of Oryctes rhinoceros L. The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. The research was conducted for two months from April 2019 to May 2019. The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, so that 20 experimental units were obtained. The treatments given were the concentration of soursop leaf extract 0 g.l-1 water, 25 gl-1 water, 50 gl-1 water, 75 gl-1 water and 100 gl-1 water. The parameters observed were the initial time of death, lethal time, lethal concentration, daily mortality, total mortality, temperature and humidity. The observed parameters data were analyzed by variance and followed by LSD at 5% level. The results showed that giving of soursop leaf powder extract at the higest concentration is 100 g.l-1 water was control O. rhinoceros L. larvae with a total mortality of 60%. This has not been effective in controlling O. rhinoceros L. larvae because it has not been able to cause a total mortality above 80%. The correct concentration caused a total mortality of 50% of O. rhinoceros L. larvae was 8.4% or the equivalent of 84 g.l-1 water extract of soursop leaf flour. The concentration that was able to produce a total mortality of 95% of O. rhinoceros L. larvae was 55.2% or the equivalent of 552 g.l-1 water extract of soursop leaf flour. Keywords:Oryctes rhinoceros, extract of soursop leaf flour, concentration, botanical insecticide

Abstract

This study aims to reveal more about the use of social media especially Instagram (IG) in the activities of eat and drink in Generation Z through communication review. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collected through in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. Determination of research subjects is based on the choice of generation Z in the span of 24 years and below. In this research the object of research reveals deeper motives in using IG for dining activities by generation Z. By revealing more about the generation Z dining activities, researchers can find deeper motives carried out by Generation Z. After making observations, conducting interviews and supporting by literature study researchers have found that the photos uploaded by generation Z essentially not the intended food or beverage, but only the sign that represents  the food and beverage earlier. The process of capturing food and beverage carried out is a construction activity in accordance with the interest of the realization of the communication motive. As a new media, social media still has various phenomena to be explored further. There are quite a lot of social media users in Indonesia with high heterogeneity.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is characterized by acute fever associated With haemorrhagic diathesis and tendency to develop fatal shock (dengue shock syndrome). Signs and symptoms of DHF are generally secondary to plasma leakage and hemorrhage. Dengue shock syndrome (DSS) is a severe clinical manifestation of DHF usually as a consequence of severe plasma leakage. During tire last 5 years, there have been reports of DHF patients with unusual manifestations, including some patients with central nervous system (CNS) involvement We report a 5 year old DHF patient who experienced transient blindness, which was the first case found in Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya.
