Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is a contagious infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium. Tuberculosis which can attack various organs, especially the lungs. It is necessary to study the effectiveness of sunlight therapy and the vitamin D diet as supporting tuberculosis treatment.Objective: This study aimed at investigating the literature for of provision of sunlight in tuberculosis patients.Method: This library review uses a database with the electronic search on Ebsco, ClinicalKey, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect published in 2016 - 2019.Results: Six articles were used to review. The article discusses vitamin D deficiency as a causative factor for tuberculosis, the effectiveness of clinical treatment in a sanatorium using vitamin D and the use of sunlight as a treatment for tuberculosis in the days before the discovery of antibiotics.Conclusion: Sun exposure has been shown to provide a clinical improvement in patients by providing comfort and improving moods that are unable to increase the elimination of bacteria in the lungs.Conclusion: This therapy provides clinical improvement to the patient and provides a calm sensation and improves mood even though it has not been able to eliminate the bacteria in the lungs until anti-TB drugs are found and this sunlight therapy is forgotten.

Abstract

COVID-19 has become a global pandemic that has hited more than 200 countries, including Indonesia. The soaring number of COVID-19 cases has forced the government to re-impose large-scale restrictions and several health protocols. However, there are many factors that influence people's behavior related to health. One of them is the lack of correct information and education in changing risky behavior. Social media of instagram is one of the educational media and information delivery that can be accessed easily and has various features. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 by implementing health protocols. The method used in this activity is counseling on the prevention of Covid-19 transmission by displaying infographic videos. The results of this activity can illustrate use of social media in delivery of effective and efficient education and is expected to increase public knowledge in preventing the transmission of COVID-19.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a global health problem. Sunlight can trigger vitamin Dproduction, so it increases the immunity system. This study analysesNightingale's environmental theory through the effect of heliotherapy on theclinical improvements in individuals with tuberculosis. It was a quantitativestudy using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach and acontrol group. In addition, the population was 59 individuals with tuberculosisin Depok Sleman District, Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, there were 24 respondentsby purposive sampling method. The intervention group at Depok 3 Public Health Centre (PHC) was 17 respondents with heliotherapy and anti-tuberculosis drugs, while the control group at Depok 2 PHC was 17 respondents with anti-tuberculosis drugs. The independent variable washeliotherapy, while the dependent variable was the clinical improvementsconsisting of weight, cough, and shortness of breath. Heliotherapy wasconducted for four weeks with an intensity of four times a week for 25minutes a day. Instruments used weigh scale, Borg Scale, and Leicester cough questionnaire. In addition, data analysis used the Wilcoxon Test and paired T-Test with a significance of 0.05. The results showed that there were clinical improvements in the intervention group (p=0.000). In addition, there wereincreased clinical improvements in weight and cough scores in the controlgroup (p=0.000). However, there was no significant difference in the shortnessof breath score in the control group (p=0.06). In conclusion, the application ofNightingale's environmental theory through heliotherapy affects clinicalimprovements in individuals with tuberculosis.

Abstract

Accident is an emergency that can affect shock, physical damage, and even death. The highest prevalence of injury occurred in the 15-24 year age group. School-age is very vulnerable to accidents in the school environment. Some cases of injuries occurred in school include fainting, traffic injuries, falls, insect stings, and poisoning. Red Cross Youth (ind-PMR) activity is an extracurricular activity in the health sector that is prepared to assist medical emergencies that occur in the school environment. Good knowledge and appropriate skills are needed in providing first aid to reduce the degree of pain and prevent the condition from getting worse. This community service was carried out 3-31 March 2022 to facilitate skills in handling medical emergency cases in the Madrasah Aliyah Islamic Centre Bin Baz Islamic Boarding School environment. This service was attended by 16 female students who became members of PMR by using the simulation method and evaluation was carried out by observing the actions taken again. Results of the overall evaluation are each student is able to understand and carry out first aid actions well in each case and can be used as a basis for the person in charge of extracurricular activities to integrate first aid materials as part of curriculum learning

Abstract

Covid-19 merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh SARS-CoV-2. Penyebaran virus covid-19 yang terus meningkat dan penambahan kasus terkonfirmasi positif yang begitu cepat menjadi fokus seluruh masyarakat. Penyebaran covid-19 dapat dicegah dengan pengetahuan dan persepsi yang baik oleh masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan persepsi terhadap upaya pencegahan dan penyebaran covid-19 pada Masyarakat di Kelurahan Sungai Beliung. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat di Kelurahan Sungai Beliung sebanyak 25.651 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah 100 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik Somers’D. Hasil uji yang dilakukan didapatkan hasil nilai p value antara tingkat pengetahuan terhadap upaya pencegahan dan penyebaran covid-19 dengan nilai p value = 0.000 (<0.1) dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.734 dan persepsi terhadap upaya pencegahan dan penyebaran covid-19 dengan nilai p value = 0.000 (<0.1) dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.603 pada Masyarakat di Kelurahan Sungai Beliung. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan persepsi terhadap upaya pencegahan dan penyebaran covid-19 pada Masyarakat di Kelurahan Sungai Beliung.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik yang ditandai oleh kenaikan gula darah akibat penurunan sekresi insulin oleh sel beta pankreas dan atau ganguan fungsi insulin. Kadar gula darah yang tidak terkontrol pada DMT2 dapat menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi pada penderita, salah satunya adalah makroangiopati, yaitu komplikasi pembuluh darah besar yang mempengaruhi perubahan tekanan darah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kadar glukosa darah dengan tekanan darah pada penderita DMT2. Desain penelitian ini adalah korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah penderita DMT2 yang berobat di RSUD Kota Yogyakarta sebanyak 306 data rekam medis pasien, sampel yang didapatkan sebanyak 40 data rekam medis pasien dengan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Uji statistik menggunakan Pearson Correlation. Dari hasil uji Pearson Correlation didapat nilai p = 0,355 (p > 0,05) dengan nilai nilai r = -0,061. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara kadar gula darah dan tekanan darah pada penderita DMT2.

Abstract

Influenza is a disease that attacks the respiratory tract caused by various types of influenza viruses and can be transmitted through the air. Transmission can occur easily through droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Treatment of influenza is symptomatic and supportive. Symptomatic treatment in the early stages may be self-administered and may require medication if symptoms persist. In addition to treatment under medical review, there is also treatment under Sharia review. There are several actions that Thibbun Nabawi can take. This understanding needs to be given to the elderly to increase their understanding of Islamic medicine and how to properly manage herbal ingredients. This community service was held in January 2023 and was attended by 69 elderly people in Sinduharjo Village, Sleman Regency who are members of the Dakwah Garage community. Activities carried out are counseling, free health checks, and exercise for the elderly. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in knowledge after being given counseling. Low knowledge 10 people (14.5%), moderate knowledge 30 people (43.5%), high knowledge 29 people (42.0%)

Abstract

Hypertension is the leading cause of premature death in the world. It does not only attack the productive age but also attacks the elderly. Hypertension is known as "The Silent Killer" because it is often without complaints and there are complications. Body Mass Index (BMI) is very influential on blood pressure. Abnormal BMI has twice the chance of experiencing hypertension and triggers higher risk factors for hypertension than normal people. This research aims to determine the relationship between BMI and the incidence of hypertension in Ngablak Hamlet, Sitimulyo Piyungan Village, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional research design. Sampling used the Accidental Sampling technique with 30 respondents based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Measuring instruments used to collect BMI data were weight scales and height measuring devices (cm) and measuring instruments used to measure blood pressure are stethoscopes and sphygmomannometers. Measurements consisted of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, weight, and height. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 16.0 program. The results of this research showed a significance value of 0.044 (p <0.05). thus, there was a significant relationship between BMI and the incidence of hypertension in Ngablak Hamlet, Sitimulyo Piyungan Village, Bantul Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Background: Most individuals tend to view helminthic disease as a very minor illness. Despite the fact that this illness might worsen children's health because of things like low body weight, anemia, problems with growth and development, and delayed cognitive development. Purpose: This study aims to determine the mother's knowledge regarding worms among pre-school students in PAUD Salsabila, Yogyakarta. Methods: This study used a descriptive design and was quantitative in nature. Mothers whose preschool-age children attend PAUD Salsabila in Yogyakarta comprise the study's population. Using the total sampling technique, 32 moms provided the sample for this investigation. Results: The results indicated that the majority of moms possess moderate information about worms. The characteristics of respondents in this study include the majority of mothers aged 26–35 years, which is as many as 17 people (53%). The majority of respondents had elementary school education, which was 12 people (37.5%) and the majority of respondents are housewives, 21 people (65.6%). Conclusion: The overall level of maternal knowledge regarding the prevention and control of intestinal parasites in this study was classified as moderate.
